Happy Saturday, Halloween Friends! The big milestone day is obviously 150 Days to Spooky Season! We have some thin looking counts really all around, and our longest count now is under 190 days which is the Halloween count, that I hope we can keep in front of us as long as possible.
Abigale has been asking me the past couple of days to go back to the candy corn place and do the train ride to look for pumpkins. I'm amazed that she has such recollection, because when we went there she wasn't even 3 years old yet. She is talking about "Hill High Farm" which is down the road from me and has lots of Fall activities. They don't open up until September, so I told her it's a little bit of a wait still. It gave me the feels talking about it.

Happy Sunday, Pumpkin People! It's a chilly one this morning at 46 degrees. We're getting to 60 degrees but it's going to be a cool day. Honestly the whole rest of this week looks to be chilly and cold, which is the perfect finale for April / Spooky Spring!

Looking a bit beyond Thursday, our next major milestone in this thread will be one week today when we reach 150 DAYS TO OCTOBER. I have done everything I can to keep that count out ahead of us as far as possible. In my mind, I would like to stay perpetually in September / October. But then that would mean that Thanksgiving and Christmas would never arrive.

And this year for me personally was so much better than last year, as I was mired down in a deep anxiety and scared to death over Holly's pregnancy which was nearing the finish line. This year, I had none of that. My only complaints were the three 90+ degree days we had at the beginning of the month. Then things settled back down to be cool and even chilly on most mornings / evenings. It wasn't hard for it to "feel" like Autumn. And that was always the goal. So between the weather, and my movie schedule, it really was a great September/October preview.

I typically love Spooky Spring (and still do), but just like with Christmas 2025, I had an off-year this year. Because of stresses at work and then my mid-month vacation and family trip, I didn’t get much actual celebrating in. I didn’t watch a single Hitchcock movie like I wanted, either.
Oh well. That’s life, I suppose. Instead of trying to force something this last week of the month, I’m just checking out the Halfway to Halloween news from around the net and hyping myself up for the real Spooky Season later this year. Still plenty of time to plan for that and make it super great for 2026.

This first third of year has really dragged on this year for me. The weather, losing the Irish breakfast, work, and fewer vacation days used have just made time go slower. I am not complaining or saying it is bad, but the perception has been different.
I have had better Spooky Springs, but I have had worse. If I was grading it would a c+ this year.
The slogg of the first part of the year will probably make the second part of the year that much more wonderful! If it is going to happen, better to be in the first quarter/half.
It will all be up hill from Memorial Day and the start of "The Road to the Bers". Only a little less than a month to go!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! We're finally here. Halfway to Halloween Eve. Tomorrow is the big day and it's exciting to say that we have only 6 months to go until Halloween is here. And if you think of the whole over-arching Fall Pre-season and The Bers as a whole, then it's just 4 more months until Fall Pre-Season. 3 months until July is here and "Summer's Going Away Party" begins. I just realized earlier this year when someone posted (I'm sorry I don't remember who) that July 4th is the final Non-Bers holiday of the year!
So today is all about the May preview in this thread. What do we have to look forward to? Let's take a quick peek at Rich's awesome countdown list that I use constantly:
That is a whole crap ton of milestones for one Month! It feels like we are celebrating something at least once a week, sometimes more than one a week.
Looking a little deeper than the milestone days, it's obvious that Memorial Day weekend, our official "Road" back to The Bers, opens up in just 23 days. It doesn't seem like it can be that close, does it?
We got our surgery date yesterday - June 12th. That's 44 days from today. I have a lot of the same feelings as I did last year at this time! I mention it all the time, but if this was a fight / match, it would be my trilogy against the hospital. (2022/2025/2026)
I hope all of you guys are excited for May to arrive and I hope EVERYONE is excited that we are halfway to Halloween tomorrow! Have a great day!

Look at dem milestones. That’s a lot to get excited about, for sure. The one-two punch of 100 Days to the Bers and Memorial Day is such a huge celebration.
But in the nearer future, Halfoween is tomorrow! I can surely conjure up my Halloween spirit and do something fun and spooky for that! I might even break tradition and watch Halloween is Grinch Night early this year.

Hello Halloween Fans! I hope you are doing well on this Wednesday. I've gotten into a routine of Wednesday being my Dunkin' Day. I stop for this $6 meal deal they have. It's pretty good. Anyway, I love this time of year in spring. It's "cool" out but still feels nice. Happy Halloween!
