Halloween Viewing

To me, to be Halloween viewing, it can't just be a horror film (which can be set at any time of the year), it has to be about Halloween.

But I prefer "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" and ABC Family's "13 Nights of Halloween"...speaking of which, anyone know when the "13 Nights of Halloween" schedule comes out this year?

I'm not sure but if I find it I'll post it here!

Yes! Watch the Exorcist with Linda Blair. With all the new scary movies out today maybe this is nothing but it's still scary to me!

I am like you, I like to see movies and shows that are about Halloween, kids trick or treating, parties. They have to be fun type movies for me and nothing that is going to give me nightmares. Exorcist is not about Halloween but it's the only one I will watch around that time and have to be careful not to watch it before I go to sleep! =)

I love most sitcoms that are based on Halloween, those are always fun!

I really don't know of a lot of movies based on Halloween. If anyone has a list of some would be greatly appreciated! Kid friendly ones is what I am in search of so I can watch with my grandchildren.

I looked up a movie that Snowflake mentioned, Lady in White, and it takes place at Halloween it seems. But I don't think it's one for the kids.

"Meet Me in St. Louis" has a good Halloween sequence featuring Margaret O'Brien.

That is correct, it is around Halloween, and has beautiful Fall scenes. It's not violent or gory at all, but has some adult themes.

I loved the book up until the ending ~ was quite disappointed in how Straub resolved everything.

I also always watch the Disney Classic-The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow! I love that Bing Crosby narrates it Wish they still showed it on tv.

Now THAT takes me back! When I was in elementary school, they often rented a 16mm film of that from Disney and showed it at an assembly. It was always a thrill when we got called out of class for an assembly in the auditorium, and we saw the movie projector in the back of the hall. Or when we walked into class and saw the movie projector in the back of the room. That's how we saw "The Red Balloon," "Kon-Tiki," "Paddle-to-the-Sea," and "Donald in Math-Magic Land," among other schoolroom classics.
