whoa... that was pretty bad.

I almost wound up having to sleep on the couch for stating that I didn't think the "Widow-boy" was that good... I agree with Simon... he doesn't live up to his hype, but I guess he's the odds on favorite unless someone else steps up to steal the David Cook cougar voter base from him.
I think the only two good one's were Pink Jr and that tall Braddy Bunch kid (although I didn't like his stupid parents and their stupid shirts).
Tatiana was thisclose to being spectacular although I was disappointed by her lack of drama.

as a founding member of the david cook cougar voter base, i would like to say that i really like danny, BUT, i am waiting on adam lambert to perform before i decide. and i think there is a chance that danny's best pal, jamar, might get brought back as a wild card....

my prediction for tonight is that danny, alexis and either anoop or braddy go thru.
also, jay, when casey carlson sang, i ALMOST called you but didnt cuz i figured you were off crying somewhere.

Anybody check out the video of David Cook covering Van Halen's 'Hot For Teacher' on youtube... As a long time Van Halen fan (and Van Hagar hater) I have to say David and band did a nice job. The best part was was when David gets to the mic during the first breakdown and yells "I bet we got a lot of teachers here tonight!"... Yeah bro, I bet there were!
The second best part was when he slips and falls on a puddle of water that he spit into the air at the begining of the song... LOL!

I watched last night and I am just not really impressed with any of them. I think what it is, is I am losing interest in the show! I will give it a few more shots. Maybe tonight will be better...isn't it on tonight too?

Anyone else notice how poorly the show was produced last night?
A lot of dead air, bad camera shots, hot mics and the obvious miscue with that Hicktown dude's promo tape.
That show is the biggest money maker on TV right now and they can't even produce a tight show.
It was really bad.

That was my thought, too. It was filled with glitches and, once again, too much time, attention and drama from the judges. On the other hand, some of the contestants were so bad that a minute and a half from some of them was way too long.

I Liked the Braddy kid and the last guy...I wasn't so hot on the blonde girl that sang the Aretha song...She was OK but didin't grab me...The last guy is very likeable as well as being a good singer...He'll go far...The Braddy guy is a really good singer but sort of a blank slate as far as personality goes...maybe he'll blossom...I've tried all day to contact and comfort young Casey Carlson...Until my wife walked in and then I stopped...

I thought that big country guy was a bit of a surprise.
I thought Anoop was going to get through.

What are the wildcard rules... I know there are three, but do they have to choose one from each of the 3 groups of 12 or could they take all three from one group of 12 if they so choose?

they havent really said where the wild cards come from. i am still banking on jamar to get asked back for wild card!!

btw, mr walker, if you go back and read last years idol thread, you will be able to confirm my status as a founding cougar! (and jay's sad decline)

I watched last night...thought the Danny guy was okay. All in all I still don't really see anyone that great in my opinion.:-?

I told my wife that I think there's some shenanigans going on with that Danny character.
He's a little too chummy with that pal of his... I mean I have some close friends, but we don't roll like those two seem to.
I also said I wouldn't be surprised if they uncover some kind of Johnny Fairplay scam with this guy... (FYI - Johnny Fairplay was the guy on Survivor who concocted a story that his Grandmother died in order to advance himself in the game)...
Uh, my wife did not appreciate either of my theories and was pretty verbal in letting me know it.

Conspiracy theories! That is what makes part of this worth the time watching. If your theories about Danny Boy prove anything close to true he has to be given extra credit for being a church music director. I mean, who does that for a living?

On another note, I'm really bothered by the Braddy situation. This guy was completely invisible until the other night. They spend so much time giving people like Danny or Tatiana or Bikini Girl face time that when we see someone like Braddy we're shocked. The dude was head and shoulders above most of that crowd the other night...but lost due to lack of exposure and Simon's kiss of death that he had no personality.

Uh...sorry, but both Davids from LY weren't exactly riveting television to watch once they opened their mouths to TALK.

I only wonder who we will see next week we haven't seen before because those who decide who gets the seeing didn't choose to let us see those we're going to see.

Funny, I'm listening to the radio as I'm reading here, and Kelly Clarkson in on.

Good Lord... this week was worse than last week.
Aside from the poor performances, the show again came off as being very amateurish and disjointed. Paula did an interview stating that she thinks having a fourth judge is disrupting the flow of the show and she is correct, but as much as I don't care for the new judge... Paula has to go. If the Bucs can cut Derek Brooks... if the Colts can cut Marvin Harrison... why can't A.I. cut Paula.
If they want to make the show better... don't let the kids pick their songs. Let the producers and the judges pick the songs.
The only person who was any good was the 16 year old that sang the Heart song. The chick with the tattoo sleeve was cute with her little bohemian hippy dance but her voice was OK at best.
And as far as the kid that destroyed 'Satisfaction'...

I stopped watching at went to bed last night after the 16 y/o girl sang Heart.
I think I'm going to give up on AI. It was horrible last night, and soo not worth wasting 2 hours of my life on. :-? Which sucks because I used to love this show.

My wife loved the Satisfaction kid and she really likes the Stones...I was shocked by how amatuerish the show came across as well...And I think Paula may be hittin' the sauce again...

The Heart girl was great...and I hate to say it...I really enjoy that Norman Gentle character...If for no other reason than he brings pure entertainment even when he sings bad...Sanajaya? Party of one!

I've stopped watching AI. I'm just not that into it. Maybe once it gets down to the real competition I'll tune back in but, I don't think I can stand to watch it through all of these rounds of 12. I'll probably watch once they hit the big stage and the competition starts to get narrowed down some.
