Summer 2018-Who's Ready?

I love to see the "patriotic season" decorations! I went to Jo-Ann for some yarn last weekend, and they had plenty of red-white-and-blue decor, including a great wreath made of red and white tinsel, decorated with "firecrackers" and stars.

The only bad thing about summer in the south is the bugs...I had so many gnats on my earlier and it is so irritating.

We have so many little gnats out now it is terrible...even being outside for a little while and they swarm you!

As i have one of those screened gazebo's so we enjoy being out on our deck and no bugs at least not in there.

We have so many fly's!! I haven't noticed them at our house, but at moms!!!

My neighbor texted yesterday she killed 32 fly's in her house in 5 minutes!!

I've weekend plans to remove the cover from my BBQ for the first time this year. In Ireland that's the sort of event that's about as frequently as Haley's comet.

What do you BBQ in Ireland? In the U.S. it's mostly hot dogs, hamburgers, brats, or steaks.

Not really ready for summer, bugs, hot temperatures, hard to sleep, sweat but I'm ready for vacation and some time off from work.

Pretty similar, hamburger, sausages, steaks, chicken. Beer can chicken has become a big thing. Few potatoes in foil cooked in the charcoal. It is Ireland after all lol.

Mmm! My mom used to put potato slices with salt, pepper, and a little butter in foil packets for my dad to cook on the grill with steaks ... those potatoes were SO good!

I do this too! Except if I have bell pepper, I'll add a little bell pepper, onion, onion soup mix, butter, s & p! YUM!
