Thanksgiving 2021 Thread

You know me, I'm ready to see August out of here. Fortunately I think that our horrible heat days, as I like to call them, are finished for the "season". I am sure we may have a few more days where it gets in the 90's, but statistically it is very rare beyond next week. Even as far as I can see in the 10 day forecast, We have mid 70's, and finally lows in the 50's again. That's September weather for sure!

I was just thinking this yesterday…that as much as I love summer I am ready to move onto the fall and some cooler weather.

It's time for summer to move on, but I'm going to enjoy the last 13 days (summer ends for me on September 1st regardless of what the calendar says). I'm also planning on throwing summer a kick-butt going away party on Labor Day. One last hurrah for the grill in 2021!

It hit 90 degrees here today and felt like 94. I will not be sad to see August go.

DAYS TILL THE BERS: 12

Happy Latter Summer TGIF! Today we move ahead folks into another Friday. Yes, it’s been a long week right? But the countdowns above continue to get a little scarier and more exciting by the day. Today’s countdowns are as follows: 97 days till Thanksgiving, 73 days till November, and 12 days till The Bers. That’s right down to a dozen days to go until The Bers. Maybe the 12 days of Christmas can become the 12 days of The Bers? It’s possible. Our next milestone is on Sunday which will see to it the home stretch on our way to The Bers as we reach the #10. Yep, and the final countdown to last Bers Blastoff will begin at that time. Other than that, I’m just sitting here in my a/c dreaming about the cooler autumn days that are ahead of us. It’s that time of year where even a summer lover has had enough of the humidity and heat. It’s time for some cooler weather to start showing up in the near future. And if you are a fan of summer enjoy today and the summer weekend ahead. It should be a good one I hope for most of you. Keep a turkey thought in your mind, heart, and soul. At least we're not in the 100s, but it sure does feel like it outside. I need to get into a Thanksgiving state of mind, but this weather makes it difficult.

Currently cleaned up and dry from our flooded basement. Very grateful it was minor. Weather is beautiful today, 72 right now. More storms tomorrow.

Happy Wondrous Weekend! It’s the weekend folks. I checked my calendar and it shows on it Saturday. But it’s more than just Saturday. It’s another day closer to the 3 counts above. They read as follows this morning: 96 days until Thanksgiving, 72 days until November, and 11 days until The Bers. Our next milestone is TOMORROW so be here for that will you? It’s the home stretch to The Bers as we reach the grand old # of 10. Yep that final countdown to blastoff begins tomorrow (on Sunday) so make sure you are here for that will you? I hope you will and I’ll try to do the same myself. Now it’s Saturday so you may want to run and do some errands. Or maybe you want to go for a hike. Or maybe you want to just chill out and read a book. Or maybe you want to cook a Thanksgiving turkey for dinner? Hey, I’m just throwing ideas out there. I’m not trying to pressure anyone into anything. But they all sound like good plans to me (especially the last one). I can dream about cooking a Thanksgiving turkey but it is still a bit too hot to truly enjoy it! But the countdowns have me excited and motivated to take a little extra time cleaning, dusting, windows, etc... I seem to notice it all when the decorations come out!

We are back to hot today and so like December, not up to cooking a turkey. Just enjoying time with family.

Happy Saturday everybody! Its been a hectic life here that seems to not include enough hours in the day. I just need to retire for good... posting a tasty video I missed on Thursday. We actually tried this recipe.
