Thanksgiving 2022 Thread

I don't want to skip over today or tomorrow, but thinking about three weeks until the best week of the year feels great! I agree with @Edge612 that Sept/Oct were great this and I do attribute that to being here on MMC. Before being here I used to experience some doldrums in early November but I think that is a thing of the past, fingers crossed! Enjoy the last 2 days of October!
 
I love Halloween too, obviously, but it is just SO HARD to not think of Thanksgiving and Christmas right now, especially as close as we are. When the sun sets tomorrow and Halloween "ends" late tomorrow night, the mood shift is significant. And I mean that in a good way.

It will be the biggest mood shift of the year for me. What an exciting time ahead.
 
DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 24
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 1

Happy Halloween! Today folks we have 24 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 1 (lonely) day to go until November. Our next milestone is obviously tomorrow when we reach the Arrival of November (the best month of the year) and conclude our 2nd of our 3 countdowns. That Thanksgiving countdown will look lonely tomorrow folks. It’s Monday so we’ll give you our Weekly Countdown Till Thanksgiving which stands at 3 weeks now. Wow. Just wow. We move along through our Awesome Autumn here and halfway through The Bers after tonight. It’s been a heck of a 1st half but imagine what we have in the 2nd half including Thanksgiving? Unreal. I love The Bers. It seems like a lot of people do including us turkey lovers. It’s hard to believe that our month starts tomorrow but it does. I remember on December 1 thinking wow 11-month journey. And yet today we conclude it. Thanks for being here the whole time. And our month begins tomorrow folks. If you aren’t excited enough yet I don’t know what will get you excited. But I know all of you are. Let’s hope for a great, amazing, special, and fun November ahead. It’s now literally in front of us as we move right to the doorstep of the best month fo the year. It’s coming starting tomorrow folks. Be here for it a great celebration. Have a great Happy Halloween!​
 
I am enjoying Halloween and with it the final day of Spooky Season. But in the back of my mind I am looking forward to tomorrow and what it has to offer.

I actually picked up my first item for the Thanksgiving feast this year today. I purchased a capon that I will be smoking. It was suggested to me by somebody i work with. Has anyone cook/smoked one before? We are still cooking/roasting a traditional turkey but I did not want to smoke another whole turkey or a turkey breast also.

If I am smoking I usually fill my smoker. I am happy with the left overs to enjoy all Thanksgiving weekend long.

If its a mass industrial Capon just treat it like any old bird. If it is from a Heritage farm where they are surgically castrated..dont use any smoke! They are to tasty and delicate.
