Happy milestone day!

Wow! 100 days until the big day! And only 17 more weeks a.k.a. one more third of the way to go! I hope the time doesn't start melting away at this point.

BTW, there's a bit more parade news starting to trickle out, such as this piece about a new Snoopy float this year!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 121
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 99
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 38

Happy Latter July! Today folks we have 121 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 99 days to go until November, and 38 days left until The Bers. Our next milestone will be on Thursday. It will be Tom Turkey Day #8. But for now folks we’re going to enjoy our other T day (not Turkey Day) but Tuesday. Yes, and boy is it going to get sweaty out there. It already was really warm yesterday but nothing like what is coming. And I think today may just be starting to get things going up. But for those of us stuck in the Summer Sweatfest well we all are in it together. And that’s good as long as our a/c is running ok. With today being Tuesday folks it is Picture Day so get ready for that. It’s coming. I know everyone will post all their favorite pictures of turkey, stuffing, gravy and more. Anything to cool us off from this mid-summer heat. We’re right around the hottest time of the year (average) so if you aren’t ready for the heat you may need to live in the ocean for a while. Keep it real turkey fans. Have a great time today. Enjoy the 2nd day of your week. We are enjoying our summer as much as we can. And enjoying all the fun/great things that go along with this season which will continue for a while here. It gives us extra time to prepare for The Bers. Have a great Latter July!

Happy Tuesday, folks! We're in the hottest part of the summer now. We have a mini-heatwave that will begin tomorrow afternoon and last through Saturday. After that though, the temps go off a cliff and we hit upper 70's and low 80's for as far as we can see. I'm not foolish enough to think that we will cruise like that all the way into The Bers, but I thoroughly believe that after this week, the true worst is behind us. Have a great day!

We have the same type of forecast...I'm curious to see if August will revert to July type of humidity or maybe be more tame. Time will tell though!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 120
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 98
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 37

Happy Summer Scorcher! Today folks we have 120 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 98 days to go until November, and 37 days left until The Bers. Our next milestone will be on Thursday (which is tomorrow) for Tom Turkey Day #8. We move along through our Summer Sweatfest with a hot day expected today and a weekly poll to help cool you off hopefully!

What’s one thing you find about Thanksgiving that is overrated?

  • The food
  • Family
  • Football
  • The Parade
  • We’re not used to answering a question like this in this way huh? The most OVERrated? Ugh. This is a tough one for me but I think I’m going to go with D. Only because I do have it on all the time but I really don’t sit there watching it nonstop. Even C would be ok as an answer to me with the same concept. Having it on but not sitting there watching t.v. nonstop. What about you? Keep it real turkey fans. Have a great Summer Scorcher!

Gonna have to go with "D" on this one! It's on in the background so much that at times it becomes a non-factor. Football maybe to a degree also, but I feel like there is much more interest in those games, even if we only watch for minutes at a time with everything else that is going on that day. Have a great Wednesday!

I hate to say it, but it's D for me too. I can sit through an entire football game, but I definitely tune out of the parade at some points, especially once the attention turns away from the parade itself to promote Miley Cyrus's new album or whatever. I sound like a curmudgeon, but I'm tuning in for the parade, not the self-promotion (although you could argue that the entire parade itself is a giant Macy's commercial).
