DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 107
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 85
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 24

Happy Awesome August! Today folks we have 107 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 85 days to go until November, and 24 days left until The Bers. Our next milestone will be 1 week from today folks. That would be 7 days and it will be the 100-Day Marker Till Thanksgiving. But friends right now we move along in the Summer Sweatfest here on a Tuesday and you all know I love Picture Day. And I think many of you are catching on to this weekly tradition we started in this year’s thread. So post away all of your turkey pictures or anything related to Thanksgiving/Autumn that will make all of us smile and/or drool. I mean is it really a bad thing to admit that you drool at the smell and sight of turkey? I know that I do. And I know many of you do as well. Keep it real turkey fans and enjoy the 2nd day of your week. And I hope all of you are starting to think about what is in front of us. It’s still there safely in front of us but the numbers are starting to lower to the point where you have to consider it might be time to “get ready.” But for now we enjoy our Tuesday. We enjoy our summer. And we enjoy this thread I hope and this wonderful site known as MMC. Happy Tuesday to one and all here in the Thanksgiving Thread. Have a great Awesome August!

There's a big milestone coming for sure. "Breaking the Seal" on 100 days to anything seems like time gets greased after that. And we are getting close to that.

Have a great second day of the week! Turkey thoughts abound to everyone!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 106
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 84
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 23

Happy Almighty August! Today folks we have 106 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 84 days to go until November and 23 days left until The Bers. Our next milestone will be in less than a week from now. It will be the 100-Day Marker Till Thanksgiving. Right now though we move along in our Summer Sweatfest with a poll for you to enjoy as we do every single Wednesday!

If you had to swap November with another Bers month in position on the calendar what month would you swap it with?

  • September (let November become the 1st Bers month and celebrate Thanksgiving early)
  • October (let Thanksgiving come before Halloween)
  • December (Let Thanksgiving cap off Christmas instead of vice versa)
  • Hmmmm tough one. I definitely wouldn’t pick A as it’s too warm that time of year to have Thanksgiving and I don’t want it first. I could flip it with October and make Halloween in between Thanksgiving and Christmas. However, I think I’m going with C. December. Crazy? Maybe but I think doing this would end any PCB’s everyone has. It would be easier to get over Thanksgiving ending than Christmas since there is so much more hype with Christmas in general in our society. What about you? Have a great day turkey fans. Have a great Almighty August!

Honestly “D” sounds reasonable. I have long discussed on the forums here that part of what I think makes the end of December so miserable is that everything just abruptly “stops”, and there’s a long stretch of time with no major holidays. Honestly the first real burst of hope comes again in March. That’s a long time to go! Have a great day!

After thinking this through, I think I'd choose to swap it with December. It's hard to imagine Christmas taking place during any other time, but hear me out:

I usually shift into Christmas mode directly after Halloween anyway. Yes, this does mean less time to enjoy the Christmas season and the lights and decorations and magic, and that would be a huge blow. However, this does finally give "Thanksgiving season" a chance to shine on its own, and it gives us more time to adjust to a post-Christmas world. I think it would feel less like a hard stop after Christmas ended if there was another holiday season to look forward to (sorry, New Year's, but you don't count), and I can't think of a better way to close out the year than with a celebration of thankfulness for life's blessings.

Thankfully this is all just hypothetical and we live in a world where Thanksgiving is perfect where it is now.

It has to be B, October. September is way too early and I’ll never mess with Christmas. Christmas is absolutely perfect where it is. And Christmas is 75% of the reason why Thanksgiving is so great. And here’s my proof. I’m not knocking on Canada, but they celebrate Thanksgiving in October and it doesn’t have the same fanfare and excitement around it. Thanksgiving is Thanksgiving, but what makes it so good in November is that ushers in the Christmas season. So if I had to move it, I wouldn’t move it very far. And October seems to be the best answer to me.
