This past Thanksgiving was great, except for the power outage that happened after we got home. Still had a load of fun though.

In the Offseason Thread this week we've done a lot of planning, and I'm always thinking about how to make our holidays in 2023 even more special, but Thanksgiving is the one time of year I think I can honestly say it's perfect the way it is now.

I missed out on my extended family's Thanksgiving celebration this year because I was about 3 days into the antibiotics for my tonsillitis, but I did make and send one batch of chicken and noodles with my brother and I think I have finally found my "signature" dish, but next year I am going to use a turkey breast and make a double batch. I am looking forward to it already!

Better make a test batch!

Sounds so delicious.

Well we are almost ready for New Years. I picked up some thick cut chops to stuff tomorrow. Sadly I am dreading the season that follows now.
The good news is we already had bone-chilling type weather which I dread...Christmas Eve woke up to 4...4 that's it. With the wind it was like 10 below 0...hopefully we won't see too many of those type of cold shots this winter season!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 327
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 305
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 244

Happy New Year’s Eve! Today folks we have 327 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 305 days to go until November and 244 days left until The Bers. Our next milestone will be TOMORROW folks when we reach the Arrival Of January. It will be a big turning point folks. We will not say NEXT Halloween, Thanksgiving (WOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOO) and Christmas. We will say THIS. And that may seem like a minor thing but it’s major to me. We finish up our Happy Holidays portion of this thread today. Sad isn’t it? But that’s ok. Tomorrow we embark on a new journey. Our first ever “Winter Wonderland”. And it will last for quite a long time. January 1 through March 16. That’s a very (very) long stretch of winter but that’s why we call it wonderland. If you get some snow try to enjoy it. Eventually you’ll be sweating again. Of course, hopefully we won’t be sweating on Thanksgiving. I remember playing outside and it was 50 and sunny on Thanksgiving afternoon. It was perfect weather for Thanksgiving. Christmas Eve I woke up to 4. I don’t want it to be that cold again for it. It beats 70 degrees but we don’t really need 4. A happy medium please. Now for you turkey fans I want to thank you all for being here in 2022. And I wish all of you will join me in 2023 here in this thread. And we’ll keep our turkey faith all winter wonderland long! Have a great New Year’s Eve!

Thanks for keeping this thread going, Edge. It's been a great ride. All of your threads are. I'm ready for 2023 and to count down to everything again. I know we've been doing that since Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas ended, but like you said, tomorrow we get to say "THIS" in front of every Holiday. And that is a truly big deal.

We're ready for the Winter Wonderland portion of the thread!

Have a great day and see everyone tonight when we are counting down to the new countdown thread!

Happy New Years Eve all! Yesterday brought me a new project for this year. A new to me slightly basket cased '70 Challenger RT. (Guy bought it and after checking it out for him I gave a estimate lowball of $20k in body work and paint/suspension. Didnt include any drivetrain cost) he got a bit pukey looking. I offered cash and his wife accepted..lol

I think the one positive about getting older is that you realize with the way time goes there is no need to rush anything anymore. Seriously. When I was a kid on December 26th I would almost cry thinking next Christmas will never come that's a zillion days away. And now? We half seriously start planning next Christmas a bit. And we all realize that it's not as far away as it seems so don't rush it. I'm going to do my best to enjoy this winter as much as I can (hoping it's not too brutally cold/snowy) all while smiling at the fact we have spring, summer, fall, and the holidays all ahead of us on the calendar.

Well, the Bers End Feast was a success. The turkey was just perfect, and I whipped up some gravy from the pan drippings that was just heavenly. Everything else was delicious too. The only setback was that I forgot about the tryptophan effect...not so great when you're trying to stay up until midnight on New Year's Eve! Next year I might need to make a different main dish.
