Happy Winter TGIF! Today folks we have 307 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 285 days left until November, and 224 days to go until The Bers. Our next milestone(s) will be in 6 days when we reach Tom Turkey Day #2 and in 7 days when we reach the 300-Day Marker Till Thanksgiving. Talk about 2 milestones in a row that are major. That is going to be a heck of a week isn’t it folks? But today we are here in our Winter Wonderland with our 3-day weekends we do in this thread with the laid back portion of this thread. Friday, Saturday, Sunday we try to do our calm and relaxing posts here. No weekly count, picture, poll or thought. Just…a count and company of all of you being here when you do arrive. This place is always open 24/7/365. And I’m glad all of you come to enjoy a little stop here when you can. Keep me company whenever you can as I always come back to read the posts later in the day or evening. For you turkey fans you might be thinking well what do we have here in the heart of winter to look forward to? Well folks for me I have breaking news…we got a TURKEY yesterday. Yep…and we will be making it most likely in February at some point. I’m really excited. We talked about it and will open cranberry sauce, potatoes and biscuits etc. A mini Thanksgiving celebration in the winter. Something to look forward to. Have a great Winter TGIF!

I am so looking forward to next week and the run of MMC Special Days. This first Tom Turkey Day in January is going to be a big one!

We usually have dinner rolls for Thanksgiving but I would love any recipes or recommendations on biscuits. I had the most delicious Cheddar Chive Cornbread biscuit at brunch a couple weeks ago and I would love to do some experimenting with different biscuit recipes this year, so if you, or anyone else has any recipes, please share!
Think it's the perfect month for it! Removed enough from Thanksgiving, winter time, cold, put the oven on etc. Not much going on in February!

I honestly regret not buying a third cajun turkey to have in February this year, but it's okay. It will make it more special when I have it again in November. Also, those things are pricey!

Our next milestones will be next week on Thursday and Friday which will be Tom Turkey Day #2 and the 300-Day Marker Till Thanksgiving. It doesn’t get much bigger than that folks but fortunately on our 3-day weekend relaxation stage in this thread we can all enjoy where we are at the current time. And not worry about next week. We are in our Winter Wonderland time of year of course and continue on course with that also. And right now we’re just enjoying our weekend I hope. I hope all of you are doing the best you can to do so here in the heart of winter. I hope you all are enjoying your time with family/friends this weekend no matter what you are doing (or doing nothing at all which sounds nice too). Turkey fans all unite and yes this will be really a first for me next month when I have a mini Thanksgiving. I honestly have never had it. If the forecast is correct, the Winter Wonderland will be returning here tonight, up until now most of January has been very November-y, I wonder if that is why I am craving Macaroni and Cheese?
No turkey..I am still feeling burnt out on it. Might be all the minis I have had in the past..lol. I could go for a Jack Daniels bbq turkey breast maybe. Every time I make the dipping sauce everyone uses it like its meant for everything....pbj sandwich-- dip it in sauce....meatloaf--sauce... cookies---sauce! Lol
Hey Edge, maybe if you don't mind, you can give us on here enough of a "heads up" that maybe we can share in your "Mini Thanksgiving in February". I am always down to eat Turkey, as in I never, ever tire of it. I already have plans for a "Halfway to Thanksgiving / Halfsgiving" later in the year but having one in February would be pretty awesome. Just my two cents.

February Thanksgiving is sounding more and more inviting. Maybe instead of Halfsgiving we should make this thing quarterly. I could eat turkey once every three months.

Happy Heart Of Winter! Today folks we have 305 days left until Thanksgiving, 283 days remaining until November, and 222 days left until The Bers. Our next milestones will be next week folks on Thursday when we reach Tom Turkey Day #2 followed by on Friday when we reach the 300-Day Marker Till Thanksgiving. Absolutely awesome if you ask me. You know what though? We have so much coming up this week really besides that. We have our first “Christmas Eve” 24th on Tuesday, “Rudolph Day” 25th on Wednesday, Thursday/Friday milestones. It’s crazy. It’s amazing here in our Winter Wonderland how many awesome things we have coming. That’s why folks I know I’m a broken record here but I’m enjoying the fact that January seems like it’s 6 weeks long already. My only wish is that we could have the following 11 months go at this pace also. I’d be ok with that. Turkey fans I am planning that huge Thanksgiving Feast (well not a full Thanksgiving but a half Thanksgiving maybe). I’m not sure what weekend but I think that I’m going to save it till after the Superbowl. I’m looking forward to doing this for once and seeing how it works out. I’ll keep you posted. I love the idea of the February Thanksgiving feast. You know we have a big food day for Superbowl, but it isn't "Thanksgiving Food". Definitely no Turkey lol.
But it has me wondering, Football is incorporated so much as part of our Bers, Fall, and really Thanksgiving traditions in general.
What would it be liked to have a "Thanksgiving Style" Superbowl party?
It would basically be Thanksgiving in February because everyone fills up with food and then lounges / sleeps through the Thanksgiving day games.
I don't think I am going to do this this year, but I think it really has potential.
