DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 175
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 148
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 87

Happy Just June! Today folks we have 175 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 148 days to go until November, and 87 days left until The Bers. Our next milestone will be when Summer Arrives in 13 days officially. And the following day in 14 days we’ll have Tom Turkey Day #7. We move along in our Summer Sweatfest with today’s Thanksgiving Thought Thursday below this line!

When I think about Thanksgiving this time of year it feels different. Like we’re in the 2nd half now of our count. It doesn’t feel as unattainable as it did in the winter and spring. And yet it doesn’t feel like it’s anywhere close to coming like it does in the fall. I guess this time of year I’d say summer feels attainable but safely off still in the distance.

Sometimes you think about things, and they seem so far away. And other times they don’t. But I think you still realize you have a long way to go thankfully. And that’s a good thing. More time to prepare and get excited. And really, we’re the only ones in the world thinking about Thanksgiving in June. Unless there’s another group out there, I don’t know about who are doing what we’re doing here. Have a great Just June!
I wonder how you'll feel about it in the middle of August and The Bers count is in the teens.

I agree with Snake. I have always seen July 4th really as the last "obstacle" or "stopping point" on the road back to the Bers. Thinking of Thanksgiving right now in June, and especially before the Solstice, makes it still seem decently far off, but it'll be much easier to envision after July 4th.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 176
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 149
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 88

Happy June Mid-Week! Today folks we move along and have 176 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 149 days to go until November, and 88 days left until The Bers. Our next milestones will be back-to-back ones but not for a while. They will be the official arrival of summer (2 weeks from today) followed the very next day by Tom Turkey Day #7. Big back to backers but later this month. No rush to get those but a little rush to get to our Summer Sweatfest Weekly Wednesday Poll below!

What’s your favorite summer food/drink?

  • Watermelon/Cantaloupe
  • Ice Cream
  • Iced drinks
  • Other
  • I honestly love all of those choices AND I happen to have all of them throughout the entire year (not just summer). So which do I pick specifically for summer? I think I’ll go with C. Because I think I get more enjoyment out of iced drinks in the summer than the other 3 seasons. What about you? Turkey friends you rule. Have a great June Mid-Week!

A: Love fresh in season watermelon, its available around here during the off season but it's nowhere near as good. I enjoy ice cream and cold drinks all year round,

I was in the grocery store the other day and they had the large cans of name brand canned pumpkin marked down to $1.25 a can. They had a use by date of Nov 2024 so I picked up 2. We get home and hubby goes to put them away and he goes did you know you already had several cans of canned pumpkin in the pantry. I said YUP need them for baking over the summer LOL, couldn't pass up that deal .... I do believe I will use one this weekend to make pumpkin spice bread :)

At my house pumpkin bread is a year 'round treat.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 174
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 147
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 86

Happy Week Into June! Today folks we move along and see that we have 174 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 147 days to go until November, and 86 days left until The Bers. Our next milestones will be when summer arrives in 12 days and Tom Turkey Day #7 in 13 days. We are in our Summer Sweatfest now on a Fun Fact Friday with this week’s fact below for your enjoyment!

A whopping 47 percent of Thanksgiving hosts will take time off work in order to properly prep the feast.

Well, some of you I know enjoy taking time off for Thanksgiving. I leave early on Thanksgiving Eve per my tradition, but I’ve always said it’s my favorite workday of the year with the traditions and feel we have at work that day. I could see where it would be fun to take time off but it’s one of those weird things for me where I enjoy it. But if you are prepping for Thanksgiving it might be good to take off the week. Or if you’re flying too, I would assume you’d take time off. Turkey friends all the best to you and yours. And I hope your week has gone fantastically. And that it ends even better. Have a great Week Into June!

This is where I veer from the crowd: I love working during Thanksgiving week. Or at least on that Monday - Wednesday. It's so incredibly calm and peaceful and easy to be productive because everyone else is gone and there are no conference calls or meetings to interrupt me. And the few of us who are still working are all in a great mood, probably because we're all introverts...lol.

In recent years I have taken Black Friday off, and I'll do so again this year since we will probably have my family's side hosted at my brother's house again.

There are years that I think I miss hosting a big group but then I see a statistic like this and I remember the years when work and hosting conflicted.
