DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 322
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 295
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 234

Happy Winter Time! Today folks we have 322 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 295 days to go until November, and 234 days left until The Bers. Our next milestone will be in 2 weeks folks. Yep, a full 2 weeks to go until we reach Tom Turkey Day #2. But for now we live in the present and look at today with our Winter Wonderland. Snow? Had it. Heavy Rain/Wind? Had it. Cold? Not quite but looks like next week might be the week for it to ramp up a bit. We look below for our weekly Thursday topic which will be of course Thanksgiving Thought Thursday!

I wonder what it would be like to have Thanksgiving in January. Imagine after the holiday season is over you have Thanksgiving? But it would feel so out of place wouldn’t it? Like the holiday season ending and then you start thinking about Thanksgiving? But it would be a nice distraction.

Sometimes I try to place different times of the year in different areas. That’s why I had that random thought today here in January. We talk sometimes about moving stuff around on the calendar but somehow we wind up usually agreeing the way it is just makes sense. Turkey friends enjoy your day today. Have a great Winter Time!

We talked about this one time I think a few years back. As awesome as it would be to have another holiday in January, I think it would be weird because there would have to be a "dead spot" right there in The Bers. Halloween would still go as planned. But then, nothing in November if Thanksgiving was in January. I think it would be nice to have January have its own holiday because then when January is over, the only barren time would be February, as we wait for the month of hope to begin.

Have a great day!

Now there's a January holiday I can get behind.

I worry that more years than not, weather would ruin having Thanksgiving in January.

Didn't the Super Bowl used to be the end of January, I remember that being a highlight back in the day, but as a Bears fan, I can't say I have many specific memories of it! LOL!

People talk about holiday creep but there seems to be a form of sports creep. The World Series used to be the weekend right after my birthday--October 7-- and the Superbowl was in January and March Madness was in, well, March.

Then again with no holiday in November maybe the world would turn their attention on November 1 to Christmas and we'd all get 2 full months of it? A guy can dream!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 321
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 294
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 233

Happy Dozen Days Of January! Today folks we have 321 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 294 days to go until November, and 233 days left until The Bers. Our next milestone will be in less than 2 weeks now as we welcome in Tom Turkey Day #2. But we also have our Winter Wonderland as we are still in the early stages of it. And winter is coming friends. Colder weather on its way it seems for much of the country. Well to keep warm on this Fun Fact Friday let’s look below and see what today’s fact is!

It takes an average of 9.6 hours for a host to prepare a full Thanksgiving meal. How much time is spent eating that meal? 16 minutes.

Is that a fact? And they really went all out saying 9.6 (like they couldn’t round and say 9.5?). But 16 minutes to eat Thanksgiving dinner? No. Sorry. Not me. Not my family. And I’m thinking if that’s the average then let’s say I take 45 minutes. That means someone out there is taking like 1 minute? Lol. Well…Rich? You gobbling it down too fast on Thanksgiving? I try to take my time eating in general and on Thanksgiving even more so. So I’m not sure where they come up with that. But the cook time might be right. What do you think? Our newest most fun feature now in this thread Fun Fact Friday. Have a great Dozen Days Of January!

Not exaggerating in the least, I feel like I sit down for Thanksgiving and am at the table at least 45 minutes to an hour. There's too much to eat, especially if you are trying everything different.

I really look forward to the months ahead, especially as Halfsgiving / Friendsgiving starts coming together. That's the nice thing about crawling through the winter, there is always something that we can focus on to look forward to.

Have a great Friday. The 3 day weekend is here!!

9.6 hours seems too long, and 16 minutes seems too short. I wonder how they calculated those numbers. I guess that’s representative of “the average American family,” but it doesn’t track with ours. I guess we’re not average…or normal. :p

You are right! I hadn't thought about the others having moved too!

9.6 hours is a little long - unless you count the shopping time. it's usually about 6 hours for me on Thanksgiving day plus another 1-2 the night before.

I spread my prep out over a few days but I don't think if I added it all together it would come close to 9.6 hours and I know that I am sitting at the table longer than 16 minutes but I do make a few trips back and forth to the kitchen. I eat in rounds, not at one sitting!

I probably take 25-30 minutes to eat my Thanksgiving meal. It's a big plate, so it takes a while.

This is very similar to what I eat.
