I can't believe that I missed checking in here yesterday. I had a grocery pick up and then made a stop at DollarTree and when I went to leave my car would not start, it was stuck in accessory mode and alerts and beeps were going off for multiple things. I was lucky, they think it was multiple glitches due to a the car battery being very low and since it is still under warranty I automatically got a new one- I have only had it for a year and it has 12,000 miles on it so my mind jumped to something worse. I still got home much later than I had hoped and then I got a call from my niece, her son was missing his retainers and they were pretty sure he lost them at our extended family Thanksgiving, so I had to go to the rental hall and go through the trash and bring the bad from Sunday home and go through it. I found the retainers but I pretty much took a shower and headed straight to bed! So long story short, 0 weeks! Gobble, gobble!
Sounds like a hectic day. glad you found your g-nephew's retainers, they are so expensive. I bet your niece was very thankful.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 1

Happy Thanksgiving Eve! Today folks we move along and see that we have 1 day remaining until Thanksgiving. Geez. Tomorrow we reach our final destination in this thread my friends reaching Thanksgiving. I can’t believe but I also can in a way. We move along in the final day of our Awesome Autumn with our Weekly Wednesday Poll about this very day Thanksgiving Eve!

How do you feel about Thanksgiving Eve linking to Thanksgiving Day?

  • It links very much like Christmas Eve does to Christmas Day.
  • It’s totally separate and really is just another day.
  • I love Thanksgiving Eve more than Thanksgiving Day.
  • Thanksgiving Eve is the most unique day and most underrated day of the year.
  • This is hard for me. My first guess would be A. But I don’t feel Thanksgiving Eve compares to Christmas Eve. It’s just so different, to me. I can’t say C even though I do love today more than mostly any human on earth. I’m going to say D. I think it’s the most unique and most underrated day of the year. Here goes my tradition going to get breakfast for everyone. Have a great Thanksgiving Eve!

Tough choices today! I think "D" is the answer that makes the most sense. I think Christmas Eve can be better than Christmas Day sometimes. Today is a special day that I do feel like is in its own world.

Our office is closing at 12:00 today, so that should make the morning go by fast, then it's home to relax and wait for Turkey Day!

Holly seems better this morning, it is a slow process and the other family members who have had this say it takes about one full week for full relief of all symptoms. We're hoping my brother in law comes home Friday.

I hope everybody has a great day!

She was, and my sister (the grandmother) now has it and will hopefully deliver it safely tomorrow!

Happy Thanksgiving Eve turkey fans. I know there will be lots of busy bees out there today prepping for tomorrow.

I will go with D but A is very fitting too.

It connects with Thanksgiving but it is very unique and different then how Christmas Day and Christmas Eve relate.

Another vote for option “D” here! The vibe is just different today. My wife has pumpkin bread baking in the oven, and later we’re going to have mulling spices on the stove. I still have to work, but nearly everyone else has their “out of office” messages up, and it’ll probably be the most quiet workday of the year. The magic in the air is so thick you could cut it with a knife.

Last night we watched A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and its accompanying special, The Mayflower Voyagers.

Today is like the last normal day of the year yet you feel the anticipation of how everything changes tomorrow which makes Thanksgiving Eve kind of the day you feel it as it approaches!

I agree the anticipation is a hallmark of today!

All prepped. Now off to appetizergiving at the inlaws. Since we host Thanksgiving this year I will taking something easy which will be homade salsa and queso. I am so excited for tomorrow.

The menu for tomorrow will be amish turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, broccoli casserole, cranberry relish. I will also be smoking buffalo chicken dip, mac & cheese, and Turkey legs. We will finish will chocolate and pumpkin pie! I cannot wait!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Happy Thanksgiving! Today folks for the first time ever in this thread we have NO COUNTDOWNS. We have arrived at our main goal and the ultimate destination of Thanksgiving Day. Unbelievable. That’s it. Milestones are done. Here we are. THE DAY. Can you believe it? And we also begin our Happy Holidays portion of this thread which will go through the rest of this year. Unreal my friends. And with it being Thursday here is our Thanksgiving Thought Thursday talking about my thoughts on today!

This is it. This is where we wanted to be again someday. And we’re here. And I’m glad you’re here with me to celebrate. Best wishes to all of you on a healthy and fun Thanksgiving Day. Take it all in and fall in love all over again with Thanksgiving Day. Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope everyone is really ready to enjoy their holiday. This is the day we get ready for all year long with turkey, stuffing, gravy, football, the parade, family, friends and more. Countless amazing traditions. The #1 day of the year I say. And the #1 traditional day of the year. It’s the big one my friends. I will be back trying to check in a few times during the day. Gobble until you wobble and enjoy your day. Have a great Thanksgiving!

GOBBLE GOBBLE TO ALL AND HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

My brother in law was discharged last night from the hospital, having been sick the past two weeks and been in the hospital since Monday because of having pneumonia. Everyone at my in-laws house is sick, and both Holly and Abigale are sick but with very minor symptoms compared to everyone else. I am still asymptomatic, so I imagine if I don't "turn" in the next day or so, it totally missed me.

The good news is, we are doing no traveling today or no extra stops. One Thanksgiving dinner up at the in laws house because the decision was made that everyone is already sick and can't get sicker.

So on the "plus" side - We don't have to go to my Dad's, who is a person I love very much but I absolutely detest forced family gatherings there, especially now that I have a daughter of my own who is impressionable.

So we are going to have a happy Thanksgiving today, and then enjoy the rest of the long weekend.

I will be back tonight hopefully to post my "final" thoughts on Thanksgiving 2024, which is something I started doing last year and I really enjoy, especially looking back at past years' "memories".

Have a great day!

I get alot of vehicles like this in the shop. They only drive like a mile or 2 at a time and the battery never has a chance to fully recharge. It slowly kills the battery over time.
