DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 188
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 162
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 101

Happy Holiday TGIF! Today folks we move along and see that we have 188 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 162 days left until November, and 101 days to go until The Bers. We move along in our Stress-Free Spring on our final day with our next milestone arriving tomorrow. It will be the 100-Day Marker till The Bers. It’s going to be huge folks. I mean huge. It will be the biggest and best milestone we’ll see all year. And then we’ll enter our Summer Sweatfest. 100 long days of summer but not all of them will be sweaty hopefully. We move along on this Fun Fact Friday with our fact for today below!

Turkeys have better vision than you.

Do you think you have pretty good vision? Turkeys have even better eyes. They can see three times better than a human with perfect 20/20 vision,
according to the National Audubon Society.

My eyesight is not good. I wear contacts (and glasses as backup). I’m jealous of people who have good vision but even people with good vision can’t compare with a turkey. But on Thanksgiving my vision feels 20/20 when I see that delicious meal on the table. It looks so tasty and so awesome. Have a great Holiday TGIF!

I do not have good vision…at all. If not for my glasses I’d be almost blind. And my glasses have what you’d call “Coke bottle lenses,” meaning that they are so thick that they look like the glass on the bottom of soda bottles. I’d wear contacts, but since my job consists of staring at Excel spreadsheets almost 8 hours a day, contacts don’t hold up to the strain very well.

Contacts was one of the best changes I made many years ago...for me it worked out perfectly! I've worn them for 12 years without any issue at all every single day!

Happy milestone eve! You guys know I would never miss the eve of the 100 Days to the Bers!

Holly and Jason are doing excellent. They believe we will go home tomorrow. I don’t want to count my chickens before they hatch but I cannot ignore the significance of possibly being discharged on milestone day, after basically knowing for close to 9 months that “The Road” would hopefully be my victory over the hardest fight in my life.

I love you all, and I hope you are all well. Please keep us in your prayers that we go home tomorrow.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 187
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 161
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 100

Happy Memorial Day Weekend! Today folks we move along and see that we have 187 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 161 days left until November and 100 days to go until The Bers. We have reached the biggest milestone in this thread. It is the 100-Day Marker till The Bers. We enter the Summer Sweatfest portion of our thread, and it starts off on a cool note here. Enjoy the cooler ones while we can. But turkey friends we are here. It’s amazing on this Saturday as we enter the 1st half of our Quiet Weekend Period that we are truly just taking our first step on the long road back home to The Bers. That’s what today represents to a lot of us and it’s a very exciting thing. The road may seem long (and it is) but it’s a fun long road and it no longer seems like a total dream as it did back in January. Turkey friends we are Halfway till the Weekend Before Thanksgiving also today. Can you believe that? Such an amazing time of year and how everything mirrors each other is amazing. I hope you are all doing well and enjoying the start of your long weekend. Turkey friends I hope you are doing well and that you will enjoy your summer as much as you can. I love summer. I try to get the most out of each season. I hope your holiday weekend starts off well. Have a great Memorial Day Weekend!

Happy 100 Days until The Bers! We are closing in on the halfway point to Thanksgiving.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 186
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 160
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 99

Happy Memorial Day Eve! Today folks we move along and see that we have 186 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 160 days left until November and 99 days to go until The Bers. We move along in our Summer Sweatfest (Day #2) with another cooler than average day. There is no sweating today here but temperatures are on the rebound and are heading closer to normal in the next day or two. Our next milestone will be when June Arrives in 1 week. That will be another turning point folks as the 3-months of summer really begins then for many people. Turkey friends it’s Sunday so it’s time for our 2nd half of our Quiet Weekend Period. I hope you are all enjoying your long holiday weekend so far and that it only gets better from here moving forward. I hope it’s been a good one for you so far and I hope you have something special planned coming up very soon. Turkey friends the best to you on this Sunday. 1 more full week of May to enjoy in this very special month and of course heading right towards a major weekly countdown tomorrow. You’ll show up for it I hope because you don’t want to miss that one. It’s the biggest one and the turning point for us turkey friends who love Thanksgiving and that very special week in the month of November. Have a great Memorial Day Eve!

I lost track of time a little bit while we were in the hospital. I know that we were only there about 52-ish hours, but let me tell you, sitting there awake at night, unable to sleep, and not knowing what was gonna happen next or when you are going to get home really makes a person feel like they are going crazy. I can fully admit that I have an anxiety problem, maybe even a severe one, but I would imagine that might be how inmates feel being incarcerated. Both my family and Holly's family came to visit across two different days, and those brief moments they were there, I had "forgot" about where I was, but then as soon as they left, reality slammed home again.

I had totally lost track of time to the point that it has now BLOWN ME AWAY that TOMORROW is a major milestone, and next weekend is June 1st. Holy cow.

We are in one of the best spots of the year with EVERYTHING still in front of us!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 185
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 159
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 98

Happy Memorial Day! Today folks we move along and see that we have 185 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 159 days left until November and 98 days to go until The Bers. We move along in the first days of our Summer Sweatfest with our next milestone arriving on Sunday with the Arrival of June. That’ll begin the 3-month summer stretch that most of us think about. It’s Monday folks so time for our Weekly Countdown till Thanksgiving Week. It stands at 26 weeks friends. This is monumental. We are halfway now friends to Thanksgiving Week. Can you even fathom that? In some ways it seems so amazing to be where we are and yet it seems like so long ago too. We are at the peak of the mountain this week my friends. Enjoy the view. The 2nd half is going to be an amazing ride and journey (and the excitement will only pick up as we move along – slowly I hope). Turkey friends if you do have a holiday today from work just remember the true meaning of today. Thank you to all those who served and sacrificed so much for our freedom and amazing lives we live today. We’re having a BBQ here per tradition. And just enjoying some time with family and friends. That’s what life is really all about. Isn’t it? Have a great Memorial Day!

Halfway back to Thanksgiving Week! I like thinking of it as reaching the peak. I was up early and spruced the bunting and windsocks. Most years I attend a Memorial Day service but am staying home this year. I am feeling the mix of solemness and happiness today.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 184
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 158
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 97

Happy Latter May! Today folks we move along and see that we have 184 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 158 days left until November and 97 days to go until The Bers. We move along in our Summer Sweatfest with our next milestone arriving on Sunday. It will be when June Arrives. Big time folks as the 3 summer months begin then. It’s Tuesday folks so time for our Picture Day. Coming off the Memorial Day Weekend you may be more interested in sending pictures of a bbq or the beach but in this thread all year long it is autumn and Thanksgiving so please send us some pictures of those moments that we crave the most. It’s finally getting back to normal for this time of year temperatures so you know what is coming. It’s going to happen before we know it and we’ll be sweating but hopefully the summer won’t have crazy humidity. I do enjoy the warm weather and don’t even mind the hot weather sometimes but the humidity makes it really less enjoyable at times. Some summers we go through the whole summer with tons of humidity. Other summers not as much. We’ll see how this summer goes though. Turkey friends I hope your holiday weekend was great. The best to you on this Tuesday. Have a great Latter May!

Because of the circumstances of our Hospital stay / birth, etc., we didn't get to do a "Halfsgiving" dinner like we normally do each year. I hope that when we get into June, maybe we can make the first Tom Turkey Day meal or Rudolph Day meal extra special to compensate for that.

Feels good being halfway back!!
