Happy June Hump Day! Today folks we move along and see that we have 169 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 143 days left until November and 82 days to go until The Bers. We move along in our Summer Sweatfest with our next milestone arriving 1 week from Friday. It will be the Arrival of Summer. It’s Wednesday folks so time for our Weekly Wednesday Poll below!

I refuse to refer to myself in the 3rd person so B is out. I have a lot of family members who love Thanksgiving so I can’t just pick 1. Me or Rich? Of course, I’m going to say B (me) but I would put Rich right there next to me at the top of the list. I feel like he could easily take this thread over if I retired from it. I have to answer both A and B. You guys love Thanksgiving more than anybody I know. I love the Thanksgiving thread, and I love that Rich gave us Tom Turkey day. Both of you are such huge contributors for all things Holiday.

Okay, look…I love Thanksgiving more than anyone in my family (that I’m aware of, at least), but even I don’t have the dedication to start an entire thread about it and post a daily countdown and topic year after year. So I’m voting B for Edge — the true Thanksgiving MVP.

B. I am going @Edge612, but you couldn't go wrong with A either. I picked Edge because I believe at this point Thanksgiving Day is his top Holiday single day (which is mine too). I think Rich is still Christmas. This was a very technical decision for me this time. Lol.

Here is my go to regular pancake recipe https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/162760/fluffy-pancakes/

I grate a medium orange and mix the that with the sugar and let that sit for about 15 minutes in a baggie so the sugar can take on the orange flavor plus it helps to stop the grated peel from clumping together in the mix. I squeeze the juice from 1/2 the orange - and use that juice to replace the vinegar in the recipe. Before I fold in the cranberries I will dust them with a little bit of flour and powder sugar mix to help stop the cranberries from settling in the bottom of the bowl. Add in a much or as little cranberries as you like. I will do about 1/2 cup of slices cranberries.

Happy Dozen Days Of June! Today folks we move along and see that we have 168 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 142 days to go until November, and 81 days left until The Bers. Our next milestone is 1 week from tomorrow when Summer Arrives. It’s Thursday folks so time for our Thanksgiving Thought Thursday below!

We’re in that time of year now where everything seems far away and yet isn’t. I think part of that is because summer feels so different than autumn. Spring feels more like it and so even though it’s farther away it feels closer. Weird, isn’t it?

I think that we are in a great spot now. Our counts look great. We’re unofficially in summer. We’re not sweating too much here (yet). And we have everything still well in front of us, which is the best place to keep it as I always say. Turkey friends I hope you are having a great day and enjoy your time doing your thing today no matter what that is. Work, family, kids, school, games, tv, snacks, food, sleep, etc. All the great stuff you may enjoy in a daily day. Enjoy it today and each day and take nothing for granted as wise people remind us. Have a great Dozen Days Of June!

Still technically in Spring but we have a "Summer Mentality". Things look really rainy for as far as the forecast can go. We will see to what degree that cuts into the SweatFest. On all the days with rain in the forecast, it doesn't get much above 80. Could we somehow have a "calmer" July because of the rains?

Once “the road” opens at the end of May — and you Bers folks know the road of which I speak — everything does feel so much closer than farther away. That feeling only amplifies as we move through June, and by the time we hit July and enter the second half of the year, it practically feels like there is no time left.

In grade school you learn that the first Thanksgiving happened in Plymouth, Massachusetts. However, historians argue that Florida may have been the true site of the first Thanksgiving. A Spanish fleet came to what is now St. Augustine in 1565. To celebrate their accomplishments, 800 Spanish settlers shared a meal with the natives of the land.

I always wonder how it would be to be in a warm/hot climate when the holidays are here. Not sure it would feel right to me. But I had a close experience years ago when it was 70 degrees on Christmas Eve. Despite not being a fan of cold weather, I have to say it didn’t feel right. Turkey friends the best to you.
