DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 155
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 129
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 68

Happy Leon Day! Today folks we move along and see that we have 155 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 129 days left until November and 68 days to go until The Bers. We move along in our Summer Sweatfest with our next milestone arriving tomorrow on Tom Turkey Day #7. It’s Wednesday folks so time for our Weekly Wednesday Poll below!

What’s the hottest temperature you enjoy?

  • 60
  • 70
  • 80
  • 90
  • I’m going to say C . I am a warm weather person and I do enjoy temperatures around 80. If it gets too much above that and the humidity picks up then I’m like ok that’s enough. But I’m still enjoying my summer and thankful my a/c has kept us somewhat comfortable through some very (very) hot days. Have a great Leon Day!

Ha Ha I'm the wimp. I vote B. 70 is about as "high" as it gets before the humidity starts making you feel miserable.

Today is the final day of the heatwave! It actually starts getting out of here this afternoon, by the time we get off work it will be back "down" in the 80's, and then the rest of this week and into the weekend there is a great chance of rain each day that keeps it cool.

Happy Leon Day!

I am going with C, even though right now it is 78 and humid and I am already uncomfortable, but I also feel like I have to have some 80s to be able to look forward to and enjoy the 70s more! LOL!

C for me too.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 154
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 128
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 67

Happy Latter June! Today folks we move along and see that we have 154 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 128 days left until November and 67 days to go until The Bers. We move along in our Summer Sweatfest with our next milestone arriving today. It is Tom Turkey Day #7. Hard to believe. Our next milestone is going to be a big one because it will be the 150-Day Marker till Thanksgiving. That will take place on Monday. Hard to believe we won’t be closer to any 2’s than 1’s anymore in this thread. It’s Thursday folks so time for our Thanksgiving Thought Thursday below!

Sometimes I try to figure out which of the Big 3 I hold on to the most. Halloween, Thanksgiving or Christmas? I feel like my most natural to hold on to is Halloween. The way my family talks about our Fall Activities all year keeps it alive for me easier. Christmas is slightly harder, but I’ve done some things to keep it alive myself. Thanksgiving though I think I rely on you in this thread the most. Thank you for that.

Turkey friends I hope you are doing well and enjoying your week so far. I hope it has cooled off for you a bit after it’s been hotter than a firecracker lately. Have a great Latter June!

I think for me it is a toss up between Halloween & Christmas as far as trying to "hold on".

Thanksgiving takes its natural place as sort of ushering in Christmas afterwards. But if we don't try and hold onto Halloween for a little bit? It seems like the season starts flying away. And obviously I hold on to Christmas because nobody likes how that last week of December feels. It's a double edged sword though because holding onto Christmas "too long", I risk literal sadness when seeing the lights and decorations and getting reminded that it's a whole year until they come around again.

Happy Tom Turkey Day! We're having a family dinner tonight at my Grandma's - those types of events always make it feel like its a holiday!

Happy Summer TGIF! Today folks we move along and see that we have 153 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 127 days left until November and 66 days to go until The Bers. We move along in our Summer Sweatfest with our next milestone arriving on Monday. It will be the 150-Day Marker till Thanksgiving. Pretty impressive if you ask me. It’s Friday so time for our Fun Fact Friday below!

  • The first Thanksgiving feast was held in the presence of around ninety Wampanoag Indians and the Wampanoag chief, Massasoit, was also invited there.
My question is why wasn’t Rich and I invited? Just wondering. Turkey friends I hope your week is going well. And I know you are glad that it’s Friday. Summer Fridays always have a bit of a special feeling to them. I hope whatever your plans are for the weekend you get ready for them but focus on your Friday and focus on some turkey. What? We focus on turkey all year. Can you blame us? Gobble Gobble. I hope you are doing well out there in Turkeyland. The best to you as always as we head towards another weekend. Hopefully it won’t be quite as hot as it has been recently. Looks to have calmed down for now (the heat). Have a great Summer TGIF!

No mowing this weekend because of the dryness and also predicted rain showers, so I will be doing some tinkering again and hopefully doing the last few things to my antique tractor so that I am ready for the show on July 25th. I'm just about there.

I hope everyone has a great day!

I’ve definitely been daydreaming about Thanksgiving week a lot more often here lately. It’s like I want it to get here, but I don’t want it to end. Thank goodness Thanksgiving has an entire special week around it. Most holidays are a one-and-done. I don’t get nearly as hyped for “July 4th week” as I do Thanksgiving week.

I gotta take C.

Caveat...it would be D with low humidity....but that doesn't happen often here...

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 152
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 126
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 65

Happy Summer Saturday! Today folks we move along and see that we have 152 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 126 days left until November and 65 days to go until The Bers. We move along in our Summer Sweatfest with our next milestone arriving on Monday. It will be the 150-Day Marker till Thanksgiving. It’s Saturday so time for the first half of our Quiet Weekend Period. I hope you are all ready for some quieter times this weekend in this thread. Don’t worry plenty of fun topics to come in the coming week. But right now it feels good to be able to sit back, relax, enjoy some (iced) coffee and just think about your weekend plans. I hope they involve lots of fun stuff and fun times this weekend. I hope your week went pretty well overall though too. Hard to believe we’re heading to the halfway marker in the year. This time of year it always hits me a phrase you’ll probably see me repeat several times in various threads but “90% of what we love the most takes place in the 2nd half/50% of the year.” I think that probably isn’t even overstating it. Turkey friends I hope you are enjoying your weekend. I hope the weather is nice where you are and you get to take advantage of this summer weekend. Check back in when you can. Have a great Summer Saturday!
