Thanksgiving 2026 Thread

The experts are saying February will still be cold but maybe not as frigid continuously as it's been recently in the 2nd half of January!
I absolutely still expect February to be cold, but where I live in Virginia, this January set a record for the number of days to be below freezing (9), and those run of single digit days were something we haven't witnessed in nearly 20 years. It would be hard for February to be worse than January!

DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 273
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 212
Happy February Arrives! Today folks we move along and see that we have 298 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 273 days left until November and 212 days to go until The Bers. It’s Milestone Day folks as we have reached the month of February. Wow. Our next milestone will be in a dozen days. Do you know what that will be? Incredible it will be the 200-Day Marker till The Bers. We just left a “3’s” count here and in 12 days will reach the end of the “2’s” for our first countdown. Isn’t that hard to believe? I always say this, but The Bers is so long it’s incredible. It’s Sunday folks so time for the 2nd half of our Quiet Weekend Period. It feels great to be in February folks. No matter what February throws at us with the weather (and it looks like it will be cold to very cold for the first half of the month) I think I’ll be able to take it better for a few reasons. I’ve become used to it from the extreme cold at times of January (and big snowstorm). Another reason is that in February you know the end of winter will (eventually) come down the road. It’s kind of like being in August and looking at Autumn being off in the distance. And other than that, I have to say I love this but it’s so awesome to say: We will not see January again until we get to have a full spring, summer, autumn and holiday season. I love all 4 of those times of year more than I love winter. Have a great February Arrives!

That's a good way to look at February! I really honestly have never looked at it in that way, even though I realize February is the gatekeeper to Spring and nice weather. But you are 100% correct. We can "suffer" now with maybe more cold and snow because we know now that time is on our side. But I really, really hope that February is milder compared to last month!
It's funny how I don't mind it being cold in December (it just feels right for the holiday season)!

Had some Thanksgiving feels earlier this afternoon. Abby and I were taking a nap on the couch and I would wake up on and off while the smell of Lasagna filled the room. Really had some big holiday feels.
Big feels coming again next weekend as we get the entire family together for the Super Bowl. There is always that holiday energy going especially when we get the whole family together. Really looking forward to it!

Happy Groundhog Day! Today folks we move along and see that we have 297 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 272 days left until November and 211 days to go until The Bers. We move along in our Winter Wonderland with our next milestone lined up for 11 days from now when we reach the 200-Day Marker till The Bers. It is amazing to think we have that in our line of sight when we just left the 3’s for Thanksgiving. Just like I always say The Bers is such a crazy long period of time and we’re lucky for it. It’s Monday folks so time for our YouTube Day below!
I like this short but good summary of what Thanksgiving is. Kind of a nice video mentioning all the things we love in a way without going too into detail. I am enjoying Mondays with YouTube and finding all various clips. I’ll be looking more into Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade Clips, don’t worry with the 100th anniversary coming this year. But I don’t want to simply concentrate on those and not give a more well-rounded clip viewing on Mondays. It’s funny how the weather really turns after Thanksgiving most years. At this rate if it gets into the 40s by March it will definitely feel like "spring" so our expectations this year will be lower!
Great video! Seeing that plate of food made me miss the big Thanksgiving meal. I can't believe we have to wait 297 days.

It’s Tuesday folks so time for our Picture Day for all pictures of Autumn and Thanksgiving that you can supply us. It’s a big day on Tuesday, s in this thread and something we look forward to every week. Right now, with all the snow on the ground you don’t see any leaves or signs of autumn. It is a thing of the past for sure but fortunately it’s also a thing of our distant future. We are in the middle of witner now and the Groundhog says gear up for 6 weeks of winter to go and that was expected anyway. I hope it will not be as bad as the 1st half, but we’ll see what happens. And then we all will look forward to spring. And then we’ll sweat it out in the Sweatfest together in the summer. Finally, we’ll enjoy our favorite Autumn during a good portion of The Bers.
