DAYS TILL THE BERS: 88
Happy June TGIF ! Today folks we move along and see that we have 174 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 149 days left until November and 88 days to go until The Bers. We move along in our Summer Sweatfest with our next milestone not arriving until the “official” arrival of summer which is 2 weeks from Sunday. But we all know that our summer has started here. And it’s Friday folks so time for our Fun Fact Friday below!
Pumpkins were common, but not pumpkin pie.
Historians know that both the Pilgrims and Wampanoag tribe both ate squashes indigenous to the region. This most certainly included pumpkins! However, the settlers had no way of making butter or wheat flour for pie crust. Instead, they likely enjoyed pumpkin mashed into a custard with milk, honey, and spices.
No pumpkin pie? I am not a big pumpkin person (only for decoration) but it would be hard to imagine that. I wish you all well this Friday, my friends. Enjoy it and be happy where we are in the year. Have a great June TGIF!

Happy Friday! Today is my busiest day at work out of the entire year. It will be nice knowing that beginning on Monday, things go back to being ho-hum as we keep sliding towards THE BERS! And my Summer "vacation" starts next Friday as we go for outpatient surgery, and then I am home the next 10 days, not going back to work until June 22nd! Have a great day!
I LOVE pumpkin. With my type 2 diagnosis (if it isn’t in regression by Thanksgiving this year), I’ll have to settle for a keto version of my favorite Thanksgiving dessert. Luckily, multiple recipes for keto pumpkin pie are readily available.
