Thanksgiving 2026 Thread

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 81
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 56

Happy Labor Day Eve! Today folks we move along and see that we have 81 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 56 days left until November. We move along in our Awesome Autumn with our next milestone set to arrive in 6 days. It will be on Saturday when we reach the Final Fifty till November. It will be big. It’s Sunday folks so time for the 2nd half of our Quiet Weekend Period. The Sunday Group is going to the mall for lunch and Time Mission. It should be fun. Kind of a laid-back Sunday for us overall but that’s good because after this week the schedule is going to get nuts as we head towards autumn activities as it does every year. But in the best way possible. All my favorite stuff of the year starts up here soon. It just is amazing to see it approaching now and instead of seeing it off in the distance just being happy at how close it really is now. The best to you my turkey friends no matter what your plans are on this Sunday. I hope you enjoy it and make the most of your day. Live your life to the fullest and enjoy your Sunday. Many of us have a 3-day weekend so there is that to look forward to also. The best to you turkey friends and Gobble Gobble all the way through your Sunday here in the month of September. My daydreaming has shifted to meals and menus, not just for Thanksgiving Day but the weekend before, Thanksgiving Eve, and the weekend after. My sister recently mentioned making some changes and I am trying to be positive about it.
 
I'm so sad. 1788719461751.png We will have to wait until Black Friday to have our Thanksgiving this year, and Austin (who's moving to Savannah) may not be able to come home. This may be our first time having Thanksgiving alone. We won't be back from Pigeon Forge until late Wednesday evening, and that will not give us enough time to get everything prepped. So Thanksgiving Day will have to be the prep day. It won't be the same, but it's better than skipping the whole thing.

Are you going to Dollywood? It is quite the year to go. It is hard when things change but it sounds like you have a solid plan.

DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 55

This is an interesting one. Kind of a money saving video today where you can make a meal for cheaper based on the ingredients this person came up with and where they went to get them. These days nothing is cheap but hey if you can find some sales or cheaper ways to make stuff then you might as well. I went into the store last week and realized a bottle of ketchup was $14. It’s a nice big bottle but for ketchup? It’s not even food. I do love ketchup though. Maybe ketchup on my turkey? No thanks. I don’t think that would mesh too well. The best to you my turkey friends as we move along here on this Monday. I wish you well on this holiday and hope you get to have a lot of fun this Monday. Have a great Labor Day!​
 
Time has been so strange this year. Even though I track these counts every single day, I look at them sometime and it feels like we lost a chunk overnight. Knowing 50 days to November is coming up is kind of like giving my brain a "mini crisis" at the moment. HOW are we already one week deep into September? It feels like yesterday we were counting down to "New Bers" on that final night of August.

Now, more than ever, let's enjoy each day!

I know the feeling. In my mind, the Bers JUST got here, but I’ve been on vacation this week and we’ve been going somewhere almost every day. Time has FLOWN by. I guess the trick is to not have any fun at all and stay bored, and the time will just crawl, but who wants to be bored during the Bers? I feel like I NEED to be outside enjoying every minute.

The good thing about September is we get multiple restarts I think (September 1 obviously, Labor Day and even the start of Autumn)!

Happy Post Labor Day! Today folks we move along and see that we have 79 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 54 days left until November. We move along in our Awesome Autumn with our next milestone set to arrive on Saturday with the Final Fifty till November. It’s Tuesday folks so time for our favorite day of the week. It’s Picture Day. Share all those pictures you want to share right now my friends. And we are truly on the road here. The day after Labor Day feels like we are truly in The Bers now. Everyone here is back at work and school. I hope everyone enjoyed their long 3-day holiday weekend. It was beautiful here. The weather couldn’t have been nicer. But it was one I enjoyed and had a good mixture of things to do. Now back to work and everything and everyone is getting back into a routine of sorts. The best to you my turkey friends as we move along here on this Tuesday. Let’s start off today by sharing those pictures of Fall and Thanksgiving here. Autumn is the best season of all. Call it Fall. Call it Autumn. I call it Amazing. The best time to send pictures is on Tuesdays during The Bers and here we are so share them here on this Tuesday like we do every single week my friends. More and more I'm learning / practicing trying to enjoy every day ALL the time, but it is hard. And nobody wants to wish away time during The Bers. In all honestly, the next almost 4 months I kind of wish could go slow. But I've learned that time is relevant, so we can't really speed it up or slow it down. BUT I have learned from @Edge612 and others that we can get more out of the time we have. So that's what I'm trying to do.

I'm in the -70 band. And I can see more of a difference every day. And it's helping on the hot days not feel hot for so long, as there is a major shift in outside feels around 4/5 pm. I was working in the mulch beds over the weekend right before dinner time, and in the shade the air almost felt cold. It's that "Bers Breeze" I speak so much about. I think it's back.

We lose 57 minutes of daylight during September here in Warner Robins. So I guess that's about 2 minutes per day.
