Good luck!!This will be my hubby and my first year making Thanksgiving for our family... I have to admit i'm a little nervous! We have a TINY oven so i'm hoping a turkey will even fit.. we might do cornish hens or a chicken instead i'm not sure honestly lol. I'm also worried about making too many or two few sides. Do you ask your family to each bring something or do you make it all? Any tips for a first timer?
Could you post your baked carrot recipe? I am looking for another vegetable dish that doesn't have to be cooked on the stove or in the microwave. I try and make as much ahead of time as possible. I hate trying to prep at the last minute when I have company. We usually host about 20-25 people.
On the menu we have:
Appetizers:
cheese/cracker plate
a few diff types of chips/dips
Main Meal:
28lb turkey
Spiral ham
mashed potatoes
green bean casserole
baked carrots
collard greens...my BIL makes them soo good!
macaroni and cheese
rolls
Dessert
Apple pie
Brownies with cream cheese mixed in
cheesecake with strawberries on top
I cannnot believe it is next week!! :???:
