Half-Way to Halloween is officially tomorrow! I just today discovered that this was actually a thing! The Halloween community celebrates the milestones to each year's Halloween journey just like we do here with the Christmas countdown! A friend of mine shared this article on FB earlier today:
And i got sooo excited that this is TOMORROW! It is so cool, i posted a few weeks back that for whatever reason i decided to have a little "mini" Halloween on the 31st, and had so much fun that on each 31st, i was going to do it. And if this makes any sense at all, I think Halloween is firmly part of the "Christmas Season", so counting down to it is almost the same as counting down to our beloved Christmas!
Happy Half-way to Halloween !! I have a great day planned and it will be full of things honoring the fall, Halloween, and the best time of the year (Sept 1st - Dec 31st)!
I woke up this morning, and played the "Lavender Town Theme" from Pokemon (look it up on youtube, it's super creepy!), and then listened to "Season of the Witch" while reading the news and getting ready to go to work.
When i get home, i'm going to burn my pumpkin-scented 3 wick candle from Hobby Lobby, i can't think of the name of it right now, but there is always that one, and "Woodland Walk", that each year are the FIRST Fall / Seasonal candles to come out to the store.
And lastly i have a Halloween movie mini-marathon planned for after dinner. Probably Halloween 4 and 5. My wife is making pumpkin truffle cookies to have with tonight's meal..
Mini Halloween, or "Half Way" to Halloween was a huge success i feel in our household! We liked it so much that we will indeed partake in "Mini Halloween" on each month that has a 31st! Yesterday was also a "bonus Halloween" day, as AMC aired a Michael Myers marathon, for reasons unknown.
It is truly rare to see those movies on TV outside of "October". Same thing with Jason / Friday the 13th films. Outside of a month that has Friday the 13th, and not Halloween season, they are pretty rare to catch on regular TV. But, anytime one is on the TV, i'm glued to the screen!
