I forgot to mention that yesterday we welcomed another new family member - Logan - 6lbs. 15 oz. to the family!! He is the 17th great (niece or nephew!) to join the clan!!

Happy Thursday, everyone! I woke up to a beautiful 12c (53f) after a crazy thunderstorm yesterday seemingly got rid of the humidity (for now). Hopefully it's a sign of cooler nights to come

Enjoy those cooler temps!! We are getting a one day break before the heat comes roaring back.

Another hot and humid day. The heat has been making me cranky lol, looking forward to some Autumn weather. Hope it gets here soon. Not too much going on here, just a typical day of errands and chores. I’m also going to visit my Daddy later this afternoon

********** TRAVEL ALERT **********

Well, Folks. The rental season is over and it's time to travel to the beach cottage to check to see how it fared over the summer.
(We have many long-time repeat renters. They are a good bunch and always take good care of the place.)

What better time to go than over the 3-day Labor Day weekend?
As such, a Countdown volunteer will be needed for two mornings: this coming Sunday and Monday. (I can post for Saturday right before we leave.)
Anyone feel energetic this weekend and would like to take over the count?

I ended up taking my husband to the Dr yesterday and they gave him some meds for the vertigo. He is still not feeling 100% so he is home today too.
Typical work for me today and I am going to a friend's house to do a load of laundry.

Good Thursday morning! The humidity broke overnight and we have a cool breeze going through the appartment. I am currently baking the vanilla cupcakes that I had planned on making last week to raise money at work for the Sunshine foundation. They're currently cooling so I can frost them and decorate them afterwards. It made me realize that I hadn't baked in forever. So this week at work I'm pulling 12-hour days each day, trying to get everything done. 2 more days until my two-week vacation...Have a wonderful day everyone!

You’re definitely going to deserve that vacation after a week of straight 12 hour days!

We took some more clothes, books and a laptop to Jacob last night. It's weird having to visit my son, instead of seeing him every evening.

I have plenty of work to do here, then I have plenty of work to do at home this evening. Work, work, work, no play. Don't they know that makes Bradley a dull boy?

I am the first one up today so I am going to enjoy the peace and quiet and read some. Today we will go to the beach about 10 mins away from here. It's been so humid that I am not sure how long we will last on the beach. Tonight will be a trip to the boardwalk to do some rides for Carolina and for me and Mike to play in the arcades. I'll check in before we head to bed tonight.

Good morning MMC!! Merry Friday Eve! It's much cooler today - no sun & the humidity seems to have disappeared. So nice to have the AC shut off once in awhile at work!! We have a high of 77º predicted! A few of our neighbors came over last night to sit out on the patio - A couple of us had sweatshirts on. Was hard to believe after the HOT days!!!

Just work for me today. Then tonight we are going to surprise my oldest sister with a wine & cheese/snacks party on her patio - today is her last day of work! She has been semi-retired for a few years now, but she is now fully retiring...then going to Spain for 3 weeks! I'm happy for her!

Finally we're supposed to get our fiber phone service installed today. We haven't had phone service at home since the copper line died on August 17. Hope it will be up and running later today without much fuss and bother. They have to come in and put a "box" on the wall next to the electrical panel box. Hoping that's not a hassle. Mr. will be there for the installation.

I hope the installion goes off smoothly!! Prayers still flowing your way.

3 hours later and the cupcakes are done. Not my best piping work, I’m out of practice! But whatever money these bring in at work, it’ll be that much more to help severely sick children realize one of their dreams.

Good afternoon ... I don't know if it's be cause of me longing for much colder weather but I really got Christmas stuck on the brain today. We are in what is suppose to be last day of the current heat wave ... I am so over this heat and humidity and I want colder weather and SNOW so lately I have been thinking about Christmas ..how I want to decorate, activities I want to do, gifts for certain people .. etc .. and right now all I want to do is go home pop in a Christmas tart in my tart warmer and watch a Christmas movie LOL Unfortunately that is not in cards right now .. kids have their yearly eye exams tonight and I am still helping the kids purge, clean and organize their rooms which I feel will take me until Monday to get done

Oh and I stopped at the grocery store the other night and they had 2 huge display setups filled with Christmas scented pinecones

Oh man!! I have never seen them on my mums. They say they are normally around for 3 weeks - they should be done soon around here!! And of course they lay the larvae that turns into GRUBS!! UGH!!!
