Happy Super Bowl Sunday MMC!
I’m just having my coffee and relaxing for a few minutes. We're heading out in a little bit to spend some time with my father. We also have plans to visit my FIL & his wife this afternoon, I haven’t seen them in a while because it’s been so hectic since my father has been in and out of the hospital so much. Back home afterward to try and catch up with the laundry. And we’ll be watching the game of course later tonight. We’re also going to pick up fresh raviolis at the pasta shop to have for dinner while we are out. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!
xx

Good Sunday morning! Temperatures will be on the rise later today going into tomorrow, which means there's a chance of freezing rain. So we'll get everything done this morning, ie grocery shopping, running errands and going to my in-laws to feed their birds and water their plants. We have a couple of things left to get for the Superbowl today. I'll make a pot of chili and we'll make a seven-layer dip with tortilla chips. I might make some brownies, I'm still undecided. Have a fantastic day everyone!

The first month of the year is down and the 2nd will be gone in the blink of an eye. Just think...almost two full months have passed since the season started....leaving us a little more than ten month until it is back. My countdown to putting up my tree (Nov. 2) is officially under ten months. How about that???

Church today...then an easy afternoon. I'm going to spend some time outside with the girls and hang out. It is supposed to be 65 degress today...so that calls for time outside! Around 3 or so, we will come back in and start getting baths and such...that has to be done before the game starts...

Hope you all enjoy your day. I will check back in during the game. Have a great one!

Good Super Bowl Morning, Fans.

But there's another game in town, and the latest score has just been posted.
Let's check the scoreboard:
Days to the Season: 283
Days to Christmas Day: 325

And one extra point:
The FIRST QUARTER of our Season game is nearly over.
Only 9 days left. (And that's the same as SINGLE DIGITS, my Friends!)
Wow. So far into the game, already!

The weather just keeps getting slowly warmer with each passing day.
We should reach the low 60's by this afternoon and the low 70's by Tuesday, as winter takes a brief intermission.
Currently, we kick off this big sports day at 45 degrees here in Carolina country.

Have a Stupendously Super, Super Bowl Sunday, Season Seekers!
Enjoy the game this evening.

Merry Saturday MMC ~
I’m goimg out soon to do some food shopping. I’ll be visiting my father in the nursing home afterward. I’ll be working on my daily chores in between. My husband and I have tickets for an Islander tonight so we have plans to go out for dinner this evening and then head to the game. I’m really looking forward to getting out. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a nice day!
xx

Hope you guys enjoyed the game!

Happy Groundhog's Day everyone!

Henry is feeling a little better this morning, but he is still coughing and the fever will not go away. We were going to have a a big family gathering at the in-laws today for Groundhog's Day, but that has now been postponed due to Henry being sick.
My wife's family always celebrates Groundhog's Day because when my wife and her siblings were young, they always traveled out of state for Thanksgiving and Christmas to see grandparents and other family. So, they decided to make sure they could spend a holiday at home together and figured Groundhog's Day was good because no one else really celebrated it.

Hope Henry starts to improve.

Good evening, all! I didn't get a chance to check in yesterday. Boy, yesterday was busy. We were steady today, but nothing crazy like yesterday. I work tomorrow yet, then I am off Tuesday. I am tired to say the least and am probably going to head to be soon. Getting up at 5:15 am is a change for sure!

I hope you've all had a great day!

Morning MMC! Sad to me that football season ended but another ring for New England. Have to be impressed with what they've done over the years. I always like to think about how the next time we see a football game (even pre-season) we'll be in the 2nd half of summer and heading right towards the Bers. Have a great Monday!

Merry Monday MMC!
It’s going to be sunny with highs near 50 degrees today! I definitely plan on squeezing a couple of walks in with Rocky. Otherwise it will be a typical day of errands and chores. I’ll visit my father as well. I’m going to make a big pot of minestrone soup with tortellini and I need to pick up a loaf of Italian bread while I’m out. That’s about it. I hope everyone has a nice day and a great week ahead!!!
xx

Good Monday morning, Christmas friends!

I had a miserable headache all weekend, and it's still on the verge of starting again this morning. I assume it sinus-related, so I'm dosing myself with Tylenol Sinus. I haven't been able to convince myself to spray saline up my nose, but if it starts again, I'll try anything LOL.

I watched part of the Boring Bowl last night, flipping between that and an exciting episode of Star Trek featuring a salt vampire. As you can tell, I had a preference. ;)

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Good Morning, Post-Bowlers!

Yep. Another Super Bowl has come and gone.
If you are a Patriots fan, you are happy.
If you are a Rams fan, you are disappointed.

But there's lots to be happy about, and nothing to be disappointed about, our latest count figures.
Here they are:
Days to the Season: 282
Days to Christmas Day: 324

And this is certainly not disappointing, either:
We are just EIGHT days away from entering the SECOND QUARTER of our Season count.
ONE WEEK from tomorrow!
(Mark your calendars, Folks.)

Pretty nice here yesterday, where we reached an afternoon high of 61.
Today is predicted to top out at 67, then 73 for tomorrow, as winter will become a memory, however temporarily.
This new week morning has commenced here in the capital city at 42 degrees.

Have a Marvelous Monday, Everyone.
And I hope your week is off to a positive beginning!

Merry Monday!! Just working and I will be happy to have some warmer weather today. The game was pretty good not too exciting but at least the Pats won. I am going to catch up on laundry tonight Hope you all have a great day!

Good Morning all!
Boy did that weekend fly by! Super Bowl was rather lack luster, but got to hang out with family and friends, so that's always good. Hope everyone is doing well.

I always love the Super Bowl. I have many fond memories of it from when I was growing up, and it's always been a big deal to me. I've always been a huge football fan, so that's one obvious reason. But looking back now, beyond simply being a sports fan, I realize why the Super Bowl still means so much to me. During all those years when I was younger it was always the first time since the holiday season that my family would all come together and spend the entire day together. No big parties or anything like that. Just relaxing all day on a Sunday and watching the big game together. It would often rain or be cold that day, so being inside and hanging out with the family all day was just what I did. And it just felt so similar to being holiday time that I completely embraced it in the exact same way. At the time that wasn't a connection I was aware of, but now looking back I realize that is absolutely the reason.

I have one particularly fond memory of when the Simpsons aired their Super Bowl episode after the game, so going from watching the game all day, to then watching that episode at night, at a time when all those 90s cartoons were a big part of my life, that's always remained one my best memories from growing up. It's still a tradition of mine to watch that episode in the evening every Super Bowl Sunday after everything quiets down. The reason I bring that up as well is because, again, it just felt so reminiscent of what I did all throughout the holiday season in watching all my favorite cartoon episodes, and that had barely ended a month prior. So it kind of felt like a continuation of that.

I called off from work yesterday because I decided I'd rather watch the game and hang out with my dad all day instead of work my crummy shift at my crummy job that I'm going to be leaving soon anyway. And I'm really glad I did. Spent all day hanging out and watching the game with him, ate some good food, chatted, and then watched my Simpsons episode. And this morning I woke up and just had this great feeling about having done that. It felt very reminiscent of all those Super Bowl Sundays from growing up.

Anyways, just wanted to share that. I don't think too many people out there make any sort of connection with their love of the holidays to Super Bowl Sunday. But I do. And I'm glad it's there.
