Christmas Countdown - 2019

Good Afternoon ..Whoever ordered all this wind needs to take it back. The wind was so bad I really thought the wind was going to blow the siding off the house in the middle of the night. I am home today as I got 2 sick kids ... nothing major .. sore throats and headaches. Playing caution and keeping them under the blankets. Spent the morning making 2 loaves of chocolate chip banana bread, a loaf of cinnamon raisin bread and now I have a loaf of white sandwich bread going in the bread machine. Going to make Pioneer Woman's chicken and dumplings for dinner and maybe pop in a movie ... Hope everyone has a great day.

School was closed Thursday and Friday because of heavy rain and flooding. The worst was Saturday when we got five inches of rain in one day with many roads flooded and even interstate exits closed because of it. We had to take a detour on our way out of town Saturday and the spray from the water on the road came up over the top of the truck. The sun came out brightly yesterday & today. School should probably have been closed today because of flooding, but wasn't.

Only ten months until our favorite day of the year! Time is swiftly passing by.

Hello everyone! Glad to see everyone made it safely through the wind yesterday. It was awful! My huge heavy plastic trash can was all over the yard, and it wasn't empty! I took my windchimes down and set them on a chair on the porch and they blew right off the chair! My five felines had a great day running from the back door to the front watching dead leaves dance in the wind. I was grateful it kept them busy all day! Hope everyone has a great safe day!

It’s roaring pretty good out there. Lots of branches and twigs scattered around on the way home. Mr. said he almost hit a big branch lying across the driveway. I’ll feel better when it settles down. Then it looks like we’re expecting snow Wednesday night.

A rather crummy day at work. From first thing until nearly 3 p.m. it felt like a big game of Whac-A-Mole—-one thing after another, everything a rush job. I didn’t even get lunch! They wanted me to eat while I proofread, which wasn’t practical because I was reading printouts, often 11x17. So I had to give up on lunch. Just had a nice dinner to make up for it, courtesy of Mr. and some leftovers. I’m hoping the rest of the week isn’t the same. It’s been nuts for weeks.

Happy Tuesday! Cold wind out there yesterday! And I think it made me sick. Well my throat is sore some. That's about it (so far). Haven't been sick at all this winter. Guess I was due to get something. Hoping I won't get too much worse. Have a great Tuesday!

It was a stressful evening for us as we went to an emergency vet because Loki showed signs of an intoxication to macadamia nuts that we think he got to in the morning. They gave him sub-cutaneous fluids and we’re keeping an eye on him. He can’t walk much, he’s too weak, so he rests on the couch. He ate a piece of banana this morning so that’s an encouraging sign. It’s a good thing that David is at home to look over him. Hope everyone will enjoy a great day ahead!

Good morning, all. I was hoping to not be up yet, but DH got called in for work, but he is unable to go in - DD has a eye doctor and dentist appointment this am, as well myself, which he needs to drive us to. He is to work this evening anyway, but I can tell he would have liked the extra money - he never minds working overtime. It’s a bummer, but unfortunately we’ve rescheduled the dentist appointments already, so I don’t want to do it again. Other than that, we have my niece all day, I’m meeting my girlfriend for lunch for Thai, and than DD has baton tonight.

Not too much going on here today, I just need to make a Target run. Other than that I will be working on my daily chores. It’s still cold and breezy out there but not nearly as windy as it was yesterday. Dinner will be tacos. I guess that’s about it. I hope everyone has a nice day!

Oh no poor Loki...hope he is on the mend soon!! Wow I did not know macadamia nuts were so toxic!

Happy Tuesday....asking for prayers and well wishes. My dad was diagnosed with liver cancer a month ago or so and today he is having his radioactive seeds implanted into his liver. It is an outpatient procedure and minimally invasive. I am hoping he does not have too many side effects.
