Good morning all! I worked the last two days and didn't get to check in and give you an update on DS. Between being busy at work and with him, I wasn't able to make it here. DH called me Tuesday morning at work and said DS was still having pain and felt his wrist wasn't any better. I talked with the doctor and she agreed, I trialed 2 days or so and with kids and growth plates, it's hard to tell, plus, if my gut feeling was that it could still be fractured, it's better to just get the x-ray done. It's not invasive and not going to hurt him. DH brought him out to work after school and sure enough, thankfully, we did the right thing. He has a buckle fracture of his radial bone of his wrist. He'll be in a hard cast for 4 weeks and have it re-x-rayed. If all goes well, he'll go to a soft wrist for 2 weeks, but if the x-ray shows he still needs some improvement, he'll be put back in the permanent cast. He's been such a trooper!

Not much going on here today. I have the next three days off. We're leaving tomorrow, to travel to York, Pa for DD's regional baton competition, but no real plans for today or tonight.

Hope you all have a great day!

Wishing DS a speedy recovery!
Enjoy your days off and good luck to your daughter!
xx

Happy Thursday friends ~
My oldest stopped by before work this morning and we had breakfast together. I have to clean up the kitchen and then I’m going to head out and run a couple of errands. Back home afterward to work on some chores around the house. We’re expecting showers or possibly a thunderstorm later, I’m hoping to get another walk in with Rocky before it starts raining. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a nice day!
xx

I'm glad you went with your gut! I hope he can get out of the cast in a couple weeks!

DS’ picture made me smile. A handsome lad indeed. Hopefully all will be back to normal in four weeks.
Good luck wishes for DD in her baton competition.

Heal up quickly Super Trooper!:D

Merry Pines Day all!

Well, only 2 more days of school to go! They are very boring days because it is just giving exams, but still, the end is nigh.

I hope everyone is having a good week so far. It is still rainy here in Ohio. My backyard is still swamp like, especially since I cannot get outside to mow it because it is never dry enough to mow. Oh well.

Have a great evening!
Now, there's a short term countdown we can get behind.+a

Merry Morning - been up since 4:20 so I figured I might as well get up and at it. Going to start work early, drop off laundry and pick it up later.

It's raining lightly, I thought I heard thunder when I woke up, but I guess it was just a heavy load on a transport, made a rattling sound; lots of road construction going on around these parts.

Wasn't that a blast at the Pines - O'Malley cat always enjoys catching up with Carl, but they are not a good influence on each other - that dance was cat - bat crazy.

Have a great day and stay jolly! -reindeer-
Isn't there a Pines bylaw that applies to Carl and O'mal kitty joining forces? It sounds like one of those situations where well meaning scientists research something they shouldn't oughter, but do, because they can.

I will be away on Sunday and not back until the evening, but I can do Monday if there wasn't already a response for both.

Got my work project finished on time and another one that I was supposed to do tomorrow.

Getting excited about my grandsons wedding this weekend. Hard to believe he's too old for building flip-track roads with me. Where does the time go?

If he wasn't related to me, I would still consider him a wonderful young man. He's strong in character and never too busy for people in his community and he's so young to be a Chief of Firefighters. The older crew seem to accept his leadership. Josh's wife to be, Meagan is a nurse - geriatrics is her specialty. I'm glad she was there to offer emotional support to Josh when they came to say their goodbyes to my husband; he needed her strength and love.

I suppose they could have a child of their own soon enough to build roads with - oh boy, I shouldn't rush things; they're a sweet couple and although they are just getting their careers underway, I know both of them will make wonderful parents when the time is right.

This will be our first time together since my husband passed away. I realized that the Bridal Shower gift was given to them with a card from both of us, but the wedding card wasn't signed yet so I'm not sure if I should just sign my own name or add Gary's to it. He knew what I was getting them so I think I'll add his name to the card.

I booked Monday off as a vacation day, initially because I wanted a day to relax and wasn't sure how I'd be feeling, but now it seems like it will give me time with O'Malley and get laundry done and do a bit of grocery shopping.

Well, I'm off to the Pines for those free fired twinkies.

Congratulations to your grandson and his soon-to-be wife!

Good Thursday morning, Christmas friends!

We had a birthday party for our niece yesterday afternoon, and her boys swam in the pool until they were forced out by their mom at 9pm LOL. It was a lot of fun, and after sunset it was a beautiful evening.

I'm planning a trip to the mountains again this weekend to finish-up the alarm installation, and to wash the siding. Nancy won't be able to go, but Jacob said he might go with me.

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Happy Birthday to your niece!

Thanks, Meceka!

You're welcome!

He looks quite delighted by the attention he'll get when he goes to school with his cast. It's harder to sign those ones than it was to sign the old white plaster one I had as a youngster.

Indeed - that's why I can't always bring O'Malley along and sometimes I have to borrow one of Jayish's outfits to sneak him in with a disguise.

When I got home from work, I had a few groceries to unload and laundry to put away. O'Malley is often impatient these days. He was in the hallway meowing for me like usual, but with more impatience in his tone. When finished, I said, "OH, I have to go the washroom, then I'll fix your dinner." He made a sound like "ooaff-er-maw!" because I was taking too long and it made me giggle. I think he was telling me off.

Tomorrow morning I have an meeting at the hospital to surprise the staff of the 3C wing and especially nurse Shannon with my nomination for a Golden Heart Award for the care and professional fortitude they displayed not only to my husband, but to other patients and families.

Then I'm off to a charity Road Hockey tournament to assist with various students from community schools who will be participating with Pond Hockey style rules.

I'm off in the afternoon to wrap the wedding gifts and pack.

Keep a merry thought in your head

He went to school with Sharpie in hand today and was so excited to have his teacher sign it!
