Congratulations to your son! Awesome job!!!

OK. Let's try this for 2019. I am back for at least a little bit.

I hope everyone has been doing wonderful this year. I look forward to enjoying the final full month before the Most Wonderful Thread of the Year debuts in September!

Merry final day of July!

Good to see you, Brent! Hope all is well!

Good Morning, Fellow Counters.
And one thing we can surely count on is that each and every day, the remaining days until Christmas and its Season get fewer and fewer.

As evidentiary proof, I present the following:
Days to the Season: 105
Days to Christmas Day: 147

And not only are the number of days to the Season and the big Day getting fewer, so are the number of them separating us from our next Milestone marker.
That point, of course, is the 100-Day Season Window, and we are now only FIVE days away from it!
(Really closing in, now!)

We are still keeping the high humidity at bay and the days, while fairly warm, are not really uncomfortable. (I could get used to a summer full of days like this.)
But we must always be aware that Mother Nature is tricky and can turn on us at any time.
Today's high is predicted to be 92. Will we have the humidity to match? Time will tell.
We are beginning this middle-of-the-week day here at 73 degrees.

Speaking of middle-of-the-week, we find ourselves once again at open house day at the Shisperig Pines, presided over as always by Carl, our friendly activities director who, also as always, has plenty of good food, drink, and entertainment for us at our inn of choice. Will Carl have any new beverage blends to try out on us? Will the entertainment be exciting? Will O'Malley come this time? Will you guys be there?
Questions abound. What will be the answers?

Have a Wonderful Wednesday, Folks!

We are on our way in my temporary wheels; a brand new Chevy Impala (so brand new there was still a sticky thing on the door handle and tags everywhere - only 6 km on it); plenty of room for O'Malley and any souvenirs we pick up at the Pines gift shop. I feel like I'm driving a boat instead of a jet-ski as this car is a fair bit longer than my Elantra GT.
Listening to some Christmas CDs on our travels.

Good Wednesday morning, Christmas friends!

I grilled hotdogs and we ate with Nancy's dad last night. It was pretty good!

Elizabeth told us that Robert, the music director at the theater where she performs, was leaving after Mary Poppins. He's a super guy who has really helped Elizabeth and Jacob both with lessons, casting and even jobs for them both. It turns out that the Center Director was very mean to him after Mary Poppins ended, insisting that Robert was not doing everything possible to increase ticket sales...it was sold-out every night. Robert finally quit, and was planning to leave. The play cast members were having a going away party for him, when it was announced that the board had finally fired the Director, and asked Robert to stay. Thank goodness he agreed! I'm back to being happy with the Averritt Center again LOL.

Lulu is feeling a little better every day, too.

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

My brother and 11 of his radio personality chums were "let go" over a year ago after they filed allegations of harassment against the Station Manager. The board kept him on and let the complainers go. In February a campaign organized by some of the monthly donors who had voice in the happenings of the radio station brought forth the firing of the Director and brought back 9 of the 12 voices that were let go (the others landed elsewhere I believe). They had a fundraiser in April and raised lots of money for their not-for-profit radio station because the "regulars" had returned and were on air along with local jazz and swing musicians "manning the phone lines". When I phoned in my donation, I let them know that I had turned the station off when the regulars were dismissed and was glad to have them back on air.

I'm glad this story had a happy ending too.

And good to hear LU is doing better.

Me too! Well I'm listening to the Kringle Radio tonight, cuz I've been in a mood for Christmas. I'm drinking a cup of hot mint tea, which is just about the only Christmasy drink I can find right now. :)
That's what I've been drinking as well. I have a box of candy cane tea left over from last Christmas. Lol!

Good Merry Morning! +j Fun, fun, fun at the Pines.

"Christmas is like candy,
it slowly melts in your mouth
Sweetening every taste bud,
making you wish
it could last forever."

Richelle E. Goodrich

And so that's the reason I was knocked down at the Pines Gift Shop; everyone was rushing to take advantage of the sales of Carl's Special Blends. I'm not too banged up, just a bit sore from all the trampling.

O'Malley had a great time with Carl and the crowd.

It was funny watching them try and hold paws to hoof as they ended their bit with a quote from Dr. Seuss in The Grinch Who Stole Christmas ...

"Christmas will always be as long as we stand heart to heart and hand to hand."

That's enough festive fun to keep us going as we inch closer to the next milestone.

+a Stay Jolly +c

Happy August Arrives MMC! How's everyone doing? It's the month BEFORE the Bers begin. That's just insane isn't it? That's why the last few years in January & February I never get really sad anymore or rush it. The months just fly by after those 2 and we wind up back in the Bers before we know it. Have a great August Arrives Friday Eve!

Good Morning, Window Watchers.
Closer and closer we get to that 100-Day Season Window which we can't wait to open because we know outside is a view showing nothing but double-digit count numbers to our Season of choice.

The daily numbers are thus once again presented for your perusal:
Days to the Season: 104
Days to Christmas Day: 146

And that above mentioned Milestone now appears just FOUR days over the horizon. Barely over HALF a week away.
Stay tuned for excitement!

It continues pleasant here as we transition into a new month, especially in the evenings. Let's keep this trend going!
Our present temperature is 72 degrees and we are headed up to a predicted high of 90 before dropping back into the mid 80's for tomorrow, hopefully with still the reduced humidity.

Well, Carl was delighted to see his friend O'Malley return to the 'Pines yesterday eveining and it did not take the two of them long to become conspiratorial once again. Whether that was reflected in some of the beverage blends offered is a matter of speculation.
Anyway, I hope everyone had fun!

Have a Thrilling Thursday Everyone, as you dream of Weekend Eve tomorrow!

Good Thursday morning, Christmas friends, and Happy First Day of August!

Elizabeth has been finding furniture for her new apartment, and I've been working hard to push thoughts of her leaving out of my mind. I never mind being alone with Nancy, of course, but Elizabeth moving out is tough to swallow. I'm sure I'll get used to the idea in a few months, but the next few weeks is going to be difficult!

Lulu is getting better every day, but she still likes me to carry her like a baby outside LOL.

Nancy's dad has been taking radiation treatments for skin cancer (the doctor says it should be easily taken care of), and today is his last treatment, so we're all going out to dinner.

I hope y'all have a great day! :)
