Good Morning, One-Week-Pre-Milestoners!
Yes, siree.
Exactly ONE week to go to our next marker, with details to follow the presentation of today's count figures.

Days to the Season: 87
Days to Christmas Day: 129

As of one week from today, August 25, we will find ourselves having completed two of three thirds to Christmas Day and will commence the FINAL 1/3 to that auspicious destination.
(Can you believe it?)

No additional rain yesterday, but the heat and humidity are sticking around like a visitor that has overstayed his welcome.
Today? More of the same I'm afraid, with a predicted high of 92 and no rain forecast.
Our current thermometer reading is 74 degrees.

Have a Super Sunday Folks, and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Dang near been two weeks since I checked in last....been pretty dang busy, y'all. School has started, worked through a few minor hiccups, but things are rolling! Has been a good start. We only went four days this week. We were running smooth by Thursday.

The heat has been oppressive. Our heat index on Monday and Tuesday was 110+. On Monday, it got up to 118. We didn't let our football team practice full speed. They went out and walked through some of the plays they are working on, but only stayed out for about 20 minutes. As I talked to other schools, their kids were practicing outside for 2+ hours. Just think it is crazy to do stuff like that. There was some complaining that our team didn't do more, but I promise you I rested my head well that night. Didn't phase me one bit.

Can't believe football is so close to kicking off. I will certainly be watching the few college football games next weekend. Now we just need some fall weather....

Happy Sunday!
I was up early with my oldest she is at conditioning for soccer so now I am enjoying a cup of coffee. The humidity is definitely on its way back and looks like we will have some warm days. Hard to believe we we are the middle of August. Hope you all have a great day!

Knock, knock..........anybody home??? May I come in????
Hey!!!!! I know I've been MIA :( It's just the time of year - from Easter the weddings start building and building so I've been marrying people every weekend. I've also got involved in an amateur dramatic group again and we're mid run of Allo Allo (have you seen the TV programme?) Weddings and plays are now slowing down, soon to be an occasional thing so I can start to think of other things that make me happy!!!! Hope you're well and loving life xxxxx
We love ‘Allo ‘Allo—-would love to hear more about your production. Do you have a role?

Thanks Crown! Happy Dog Days of August!

Hello and happy Sunday all!

It is a hot one out today. Looks like that will continue for a couple of days and then back into the 70s late in the week.

Tomorrow is a teacher work day and then school starts on Tuesday! Henry is super excited to go back to school. I am ready for the schedule and regularity that comes with being back to school.

We drove by out local Lowes store yesterday and they have blowup Halloween decor outside, which must mean they have more inside. We will have to check that out very soon. By September 1 I will be full go in Halloween mode. Scary movies, pumpkin everything, scary movies, Edgar Allen Poe books and poems.

Well, back to cleaning up around the house and preparing for school!
Everyone have a wonderful day!

HoHoHello good to see you +d

Hi folks!!!!I can’t wait to get chilly in Greece....

Good to see you poking your merry head out :brr

Must be a sign that Christmas is on the way.

We came back early and skipped the Jazz Festival. O'Malley the cat was quite delighted to see me. Amidst the purring, I heard him sigh as well. Once my arms were free of luggage, etc. I gave him a friendly greeting, hearty pat and rub before I did anything else and he offered up some fur.

My dad and I picked up my cousin in Barrie on the way to London to visit other relatives. We had a great two days with them. Good food, good company and BOY OH BOY DID I EVER SLEEP. Without the O'Cat to wake me between 4-4:30, I was able to sleep in until 6:20 - almost pulled a Crown there. We stayed up until 11:30 the first night and 11:00 the next, my usual down time is 9:30-10:00.

I gave my cousins their souvenirs from P.E.I. and my older cousin who used to share a bedroom with me nearly teared up at the porcelain Anne of Green Gables Tea set for her granddaughter and her to enjoy with their "tea parties".

My cousin was the only red-head in her class and one of about four in the whole school when she was growing up. My mom introduced my cousin to the Anne of Green Gables books and she passed the set onto me when I became a reader. My mom found a set at a yard sale years later and gave them to her daughter.

When I was 9, my cousin came with us on a trip to Nova Scotia and we scooted across to P.E.I. on the ferry so she could tour the museum and such.

Aren't memories great - well the happy ones. Good to be home.

Keep a merry thought in your head +k

What happened to the weekend? It's been a nice but busy weekend and once again I blink and it's over. Spent the day at the shore yesterday with friends and family. The kids were adorable together. Had a nice family dinner today. It was way to hot and humid to do anything outside this afternoon. This girl is ready for the fall chill! Have a good night.

Happy Fully August Week MMC! That weekend did seem to go fast. Let's hope the next one goes slower! The humidity is up today and so is the heat. Looks like it cools off just in time for next weekend to be a beautiful one. Already looking forward to that. Have a great Fully August Week!

Merry Monday MMC!
It’s going to be hazy, hot and humid today with chance of an afternoon thunderstorm. It’s just a typical day of errands and chores for me plus lunch with my mother. Dinner will be Italian wedding soup. That’s about it. I hope everyone has a nice day and a great week ahead!!!
xx
