True, on the difference in moistness, and I am always surprised how economical the whole turkey is, if only more of my family liked the dark meat.We canned a few quarts and I froze some to use. This is why I dislike those turkey breasts, they produce very little juice and tend to be just a few dollars cheaper than a whole bird.
Ohhhhh yes a CW treat!Afternoon everybody! Looks to be a good day to enjoy a few misc turkey pics! Let the gravy flow!
That's what my Thanksgiving around Noon looks like the turkey coming out of the oven like that.
In my family more like dark meat than white, which is okay because there are a million things to do with the left over white. I usually chop it in cubes and then make everything from pot pies to turkey ala king to turkey stata.True, on the difference in moistness, and I am always surprised how economical the whole turkey is, if only more of my family liked the dark meat.
the more the merrier CW!Used to be a few but it has greatly increased into the 10+ range.
Let's hope so!Since we have to go to two Thanksgiving dinners, it's B for my family's house and D for my wife's family at her grandmother's house. Usually. Last year COVID kept us from going anywhere and we had Thanksgiving here at home. I liked it, but this year I'm ready to get the family back together.
You're the party guy CW so we're relying on you to help us plan it!Time to plan the 1/2 way point party! Already looking forward to summer Thanksgiving.
I think that is really a fun idea. "Halfgiving"?Seeing some posts now about Halfway to Thanksgiving, and I just want to throw out my two cents, if there is any kind of serious interest into making that an actual "thing" here, like some of us are doing with "Halfoween", My family would be absolutely down to celebrate. Most everyone I know here on MMC does the whole halfway / Leon Day celebration, so I don't think this would be that different? Would this happen around May 27th?
