Happy Halfoween, Folks! Today is the day we have been waiting for a long time! The epic, thrilling conclusion to "Spooky Spring"

Only one movie made sense to play tonight to celebrate the halfway point, and that is the outstanding "Trick R Treat". No other movie, IMO, perhaps except for the opening of Halloween 4, so completely captures the FEEL of Halloween.

Today's October-like weather will continue, and as the evening rolls in and it starts cooling down, a celebratory "Bers Fire" is in order out at the fire pit.

Folks, I think I will return this evening with a "final" post on the subject of Halfoween, and Spooky Spring in general.

Happy Halfoween to all, I hope you all have a wonderful day! Keep those Halloween thoughts on tap all through the day!

Trick or Treat is one of my newer favorite Halloweenish movies. I agree it has a great Halloween vibe to it.

Happy Halfoween! My pumpkin waffle maker made its debut today-- the instructions said to use 3 tablespoons of batter and those turned out round with the imprinted shape. When I used a bit less they came out pumpkin shaped. I used regular batter today but for Halloween I may try adding pumpkin and pumpkin spice. I may try one other test run between now and then just to see the best way to make them ahead of time and re-heat them so I could serve them all at one instead of waiting for each one, and maybe try cake batter. I would like to be able to make them to share with my niece and her kids for Halloween and maybe even on JOL days.

Happy Halfoween, everyone! I hope you all have enjoyed Spooky Spring as much as I have. It really feels right at home here in April, and I hope we do it again next year. So much fun!

Today I'm going to cheat for the only time during the year and listen to "Great Pumpkin Waltz." I never break out this song before October, but I figure today is a suitable occasion. Then later tonight we will watch "Hocus Pocus" and maybe, just maybe, "Signs."

Halfoween, and I just can't believe it. This milestone really knocks me over, since for me Halloween is more than Halloween, but is also the beginning of The Holidays. I have an elaborate ritual, involving the lighting of the jack-o'-lantern precisely at sundown local time, and drinking hot chocolate while sitting in the darkened front room pondering. I just cannot believe it's been six months since I was doing that, and it's just six months till I'll be doing it again. It's like an auxiliary Leon Day!

I should have some hot chocolate tonight.

They look so cute .. could top with butter blended with pumpkin pie spice.

*SPOOKY SPRING / HALFOWEEN FINAL THOUGHTS*

Good evening everybody! We just came in from a "bers fire" outside in the fire pit, and let me tell you, the weather couldn't have been better. It was cool outside, it felt like October all day long. The smell of wood smoke was in the air from the chimneys every where. The only thing we were missing, was the fall leaves.

And I have to admit, I'm sad to see Spooky Spring go. Almost all of April felt like October. We talked about it all the time on these threads. I enjoyed my Stephen King movie marathon, and the others that I chose "organically" day to day. The cherry cider was on tap and tasted awesome, like always. April really is the new October. And I'm thinking that next year, I might find a way to plan out the whole entire month of April (save for Easter) so that I can do my best to make sure every day feels like October. Six months ago, we prepared to say goodbye to our pumpkin friends and get ready to transition over to Christmas.

And that's how tonight feels. If I didn't really know what day it was, I would think when the clock strikes midnight tonight, *POOF* there's Christmas stuff every where. But tomorrow morning we will wake up, spooky spring will be over, and we will be preparing for the gentle introduction of summer.

Even now, I'm rationalizing the time left. It's "just" three months for me until I am back in "Fall Preseason" (May, Jun, July). We have a Jack O Lantern Day again this coming month, thankfully. I'm not quite ready for the Halloween / Fall feels to end. In closing, Spooky Spring was amazing, and I am absolutely happy to have another layer to the special days / special times here at MMC.

We will have one more item to add to the countdown when the new countdown goes up for 2023 Halloween Season!

I had fun with mine too, but if you had to make them for a crowd, it would take hours. Worth the investment though!

Amen, brother. Spooky Spring is here to stay. And it really won't be long now until we're back in those October vibes once again.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! It's the post-spooky Spring edition of the daily countdown.

Today feels so much like November 1st. Halloween stuff is being put away today and slumbering for the next 6 months. I'll get the laughing pumpkin back out, and the electric Jack O Lantern in time for Jack O Lantern Day.

It will be good to return to Hogwarts this month when Dark Arts Sunday returns at the end of this month. Folks - I mentioned this last night, but I'm already thinking of the length of time until Fall Pre-season. The next three months are going to do their job to make me thoroughly miss / appreciate Fall & The Bers, while sprinkling in the special days (Rudolph Day, Tom Turkey Day, etc.) to whet my appetite of everything we love.

Have a great Sunday, friends!

I really enjoyed spooky spring. Now its time to move into may and the preseason for summer.

The bers and spooky season are not to far away again now. We have a couple JOL days and milestones until then to happily hold us over.
