Good Morning Halloween Friends! Happy Friday! The Fridays of "Spooky Spring" were pretty good, were they not? The kind of weather we have been having, and will have over the next few days would have been the perfect October weekend. Gloomy, Rainy, cool, and a great time to just relax on the couch and watch Halloween movies!

I found myself daydreaming about Harry Potter yesterday, and thinking about "Dark Arts Sunday", which is still a few weeks off. I was just thinking to myself that I had never tried making a whole gallon at once of Cherry Cider, and wondering if that would be my next attempt as in the coming months I'll be drinking it in copious amounts.

Have a great Friday, keep some Halloween thoughts in your head!

Gosh I miss Spooky Spring.

Somewhere there should be a Harry Potter themed train ride, where you can board a real train and watch the entire first movie on the train ride while being treated to a plethora of Wizarding World-type treats. And the inside of the train could be decked out in Hogwarts House regalia.

I don't care where the train is going; just have it go in a big circle or something, but give me the full Harry Potter experience.

If any billionaires are reading and want to fund this dream of mine, your can have this idea for free. Just make it happen.

How do you make your cherry cider?
Can you share your recipe and directions with us?

Yes of course!

me personally, I start out with the 2 quart jug of apple juice (Mott’s or Welch’s will do fine), then I add 1/4 cup of Monin cherry syrup (like they use for ice creams and shakes, etc). I actually don’t know if there is another syrup brand that would work, Monin is all I have ever used.

Sometimes I will even add a small sprinkling of cinnamon if I feel like it. Then I give the whole jug a good shake and sit in the fridge to chill for 24 hours. You can drink it immediately, but I find the flavors blend best after chilling overnight.

If anyone likes their cider to have more “substance”, then by all means start off with apple cider instead of apple juice. Me personally, I prefer the clearness of the apple juice, which is essentially ultra filtered cider with a greater degree of pasteurization.

it’s super quick and easy and cheap to make! The cherry syrup is your most expensive item. I think that bottle of syrup costs like 10 dollars here, but one bottle will make many batches.

Hope you like it!

I've got to give this a try soon.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! What a change of weather it has been. Back down into the 50's for the next few days, and we have two nights that get close to freezing. My best friend yesterday told me how much Friday's weather reminded him of Halloween time. It really did FEEL like it here! It really made me miss Jack O Lantern Day, and made me think more about how much I missed Spooky Spring even though it just ended.

I'm so glad we have a JOL Day coming up in just a few weeks. I almost feel like it will "recharge" my Halloween batteries somewhat.

Have a great day, friends!

Good Morning Halloween friends and happy Mothers Day!

Yesterday was totally a wash out here, I went on many errands, and one of the stops I made was of course to Hobby Lobby!

After many weeks of fruitless searching, THIS was finally found :

I even found the first Christmas item, two rolls of Christmas Fabric which was not there the last time I checked:

Folks, a shopping trip just doesn’t go better than that. Excellent round of “Christmas hunting”. Let’s hope the next few weeks see this store transform!

Have a great day!

FINALLY!
Hopefully, we'll see a big transformation over the next several weeks.
I predict wreaths within 30 days and trees within 45.

Morning Halloween Fans! I hope you're all enjoying your Mother's Day. I know all Halloween fans love and appreciate all moms. Don't we? They aren't spooky. They're the opposite. Have a great day!
Edge, if you believe no mothers are spooky, you have never seen me at 6 a.m. after having been up all night with a sick kid. I don't think anyone could look any spookier! :sway But I do know exactly what you mean.

WEEKS TO OCTOBER: 20
WEEKS TO HALLOWEEN: 24

Good Morning Halloween Friends! What a happy Monday it is! Folks, I'm going to let Edge give you the great news in the Thanksgiving thread, but we have now broken the 200 day seal and are staring at 100's over in that thread. It's amazing.

Also amazing? 20 weeks to October. I know that's far off looking, but seeing Fall stuff pop up in Hobby Lobby over the weekend sort of serves as a reminder of how close it actually is.

The Bers were on my mind a lot over the weekend, even more so after seeing the fall stuff at HL. And in a few weeks, it will be time for that symbolic "road" to remove the barriers and let us all get on the freeway that will take us back home. It's going to be amazing.

Today I'd like to bring up an interesting topic that I actually was thinking of yesterday:

Let's talk about Halloween potlucks. Do you have a potluck at your work?

We've had a Halloween potluck for several years going on now, and it's always awesome. I always love seeing people's costumes and all the different foods they bring in. But more than that, I enjoy how it feels like the "magic" is so heavy in the air that it could be cut with a knife. It's a great feeling when you think of where you are, and what is coming up over the next few months!

Have a great day!

I work with a bunch of fuddy-duddies. No one wants to do anything for Halloween at work. One of the girls does put a candy bowl in the lobby with some cheap candy. Any chocolate disappears quickly!
