When I take a minute to think about watching Harry Potter, there is just this wave of nostalgia and comfort and FEELS that come over me! It’s something I hope I can share with my child one day! Harry Potter and spooky season / fall just seem to go together so perfectly!I was just thinking about Dark Arts Sunday last night. With the Thanksgiving vibe permeating May (much like the Halloween vibe permeated April), it's been hard to stay in a spooky state of mind, especially with the temperatures down here skyrocketing in a matter of days. Dark Arts Sunday and JOL Day are going to be a welcome sanctuary to return to at the end of this month.
Not that I haven't enjoyed the Thanksgiving vibe -- don't get me wrong!
We can usually plant tender plants like tomatoes about now, but we are having unseasonably cold weather so haven't been able to safely plant yet.DAYS TO JOL DAY: 21
DAYS TO THE BERS: 114
DAYS TO OCTOBER: 144
DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 174
Good Morning Halloween Friends! Like Edge said, warmer weather is beginning to move back in, and soon there will be less and less opportunities to feel some of those fall vibes. But there is still plenty of cool nights up ahead. We're almost in uncharted territory now - we are about two weeks from Memorial Day weekend, and it is still getting down to around freezing at night. I can never remember a May staying so cold.
The good news is in the counts this morning - some good stuff coming right up ahead. We are now just TWO WEEKS from the all important 100 days to The Bers milestone, and exactly three weeks to Jack O Lantern Day # 3 ! Reaching both of them will feel good, especially as much as I have been missing "Spooky Spring".
Have a great Tuesday, friends!
So cool.So there is a local pop up bakery by us that is open for business on Saturdays. They are a young couple but i noticed the bakery is decorated in kind of gothic style. I told my wife this past week that i would guess that they love Halloween by what i saw at the store and I was hoping they did the theme when the season comes upon us.
Well today I saw on Facebook that all items will be Halloween themed for a Half way to Halloween celebration this Saturday. And as i suspected they mentioned there love for Halloween.
You are absolutely correct about Friday the 13th. May has the only one this year.DAYS TO JOL DAY: 20
DAYS TO THE BERS: 113
DAYS TO OCTOBER: 143
DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 173
Good Morning Halloween Friends! A gorgeous 45 degrees outside, cruising to a high of 72. That's about as close to a Fall day as you can get. Let's hope the humidity stays down.
Folks, I meant to mention this earlier in the week, and I do believe I mentioned it way back in the day when we started the 2022 Thread, but this Friday is the 13th. Friday the 13th.
Long considered to be almost a Jack O Lantern "Cheat Day", Friday the 13ths just have that creepy oddness to them that put them right at home with our collection of spooky days. I think we only have one this year. Someone can correct me if I'm mistaken. It will not take a genius to imagine what movies I will watch that night. It's been a few months now since I've visited Camp Crystal Lake. And being about two weeks from Dark Arts Sunday and our formal Jack O Lantern Day #3, it fits right into the schedule quite nicely.
Have a great day, friends! Keep some Fall and Halloween thoughts in your head!
Interesting and awesome, although I’d be lying if I said I didn’t think it would be a bit “wasted” In October. October is already the king of scary and spooky months. I love starting off the year with one in January, but why couldn’t the next one be in say June or July, when we really could use a boost?? I know how the calendar works and all, I’m just sayingYou are absolutely correct about Friday the 13th. May has the only one this year.
BUT...
Next year we have two. January and ... wait for it...
OCTOBER!!!
