Did anyone see tonight's lunar eclipse/blood moon? I just came back inside from viewing it. I am fairly sure that I'll manifest superpowers tomorrow from standing in the lunar rays -- it IS a blood moon, after all.
Halloween 2022 Countdown!

We went outside to look for the moon at the right time, but it was so cloudy, we couldn't see anything. Getting up this morning though, the moon looks enormous!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! It's a new week, fresh of the heels of "Friday the 13th Weekend". We broke into single digits on the way to the 100 Days to The Bers Milestone on Saturday, just about the same time as when the sweat fest has now made its appearance known. And like Rich said, almost time to begin "suffering" from the heat.
We're just over two weeks out now from Jack O Lantern Day #3! It's hard to imagine but we are over half way through Jack O Lantern Days in 2022. There's only two more after this. Now, time for the weekly topic.
Friday the 13th was like a Jack O Lantern Cheat Day. The whole day has an oddness about it. And they are super rare. We only had one this year. We have two next year. And Friday the 13th has its own "Mascot", that being our hockey mask friend Jason. Halloween has Michael Myers. Thanksgiving has Tom Turkey, and Christmas has Santa Claus. That puts Jason in there with the big boys. How do you feel about Friday the 13th, and Jason as a whole?
Me, I think Jason belongs in Halloween / Fall celebrations as much as Michael Myers or any of our beloved classic scary movies. The movies always give off to me a distinctly late summer, possibly early fall feel, depending on which movies you are watching. You have characters enjoying summer activities, but also late fall things, like wearing jackets, building fires, etc..

Drats! I missed it.
I feel the same as you; I treat it as a JOL "Cheat" Day of sorts, which gives me permission to indulge in all the Halloween things.
As for Jason, he's a welcome mascot in the same way Michael is for Halloween. I kind of always have lumped them together, but it makes sense for Jason to "own" Friday the 13th and for Michael to have Halloween night to himself. They can share duties in the Fall.
For anyone curious, I didn't get any powers from the blood moon. I guess I slept it off. Looks like my supervillian origin story is on hold for a little longer.
It was cloudy here so couldn't see much.
Maybe the rays take a few days to sprout and you can still get them, but if not, we like your supervillain origin story. I myself am an alien--when the grands were preschoolers, we had a book called "Gran's an alien" and ever since then the joke is that their Grams is an alien. I milk it for all its worth. Can't expect normal from me because I am an alien.

Good Morning Halloween Friends. Happy Tuesday! Today marks exactly TWO WEEKS until our next JOL Day. It will be a nice temporary retreat from the horrors of the Sweat Fest. Maybe we will get lucky and that evening will be on the cooler side.
Also, looking at those counts, it looks like in just ONE WEEK we will be at the 100 Days to The Bers milestone. How amazing!

I am ready for all of it. 100 Days to the Bers, Memorial Day, JOL Day, and any other awesome stuff between now and the end of May. Bring it all.
I am interested in @Edge612's discovery of Halloween candy! We might have a special "Seasonal Candy of the Week" post if he found anything good!
Even if it is sneak peek of what is to come in the fall, I kinda think we need a seasonal candy of the week sooner than later.
I planted my pumpkin and gourd seeds in their starter containers today, five weeks later than I did last year. I am hoping this means the big green leaves will last long enough so I can have the sincerest pumpkin patch this Halloween!

Today is our last cooler day for a while - the high is only 73 degrees, and this evening it will cool down into the 40's. If we get that cool, I'm actually thinking about doing just a small fire in the fire pit, it might be the last time for a while as both weekend days are supposed to be in the 90's. I'm also finishing up the yard work tonight and tomorrow evening, because mowing here in the 90's is dangerous, especially since the humidity will be near 100%.
All of our counts still look good this morning. I noticed the other day that it felt like the "Days To Halloween" is taking a long time to get milestone days. We are just over two weeks until it finally hits the 150 Days to Halloween, at which point I think it will finally move with a steady pace.
