DAYS TO JOL DAY: 12
DAYS TO THE BERS: 105
DAYS TO OCTOBER: 135
DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 165

Good Morning Friends! Another hot one on tap today. Mid 80's. I can't stress enough that this is really the point in the year where I really miss Fall. It just seems like the heat and humidity takes the joy out of everything. It's a lot harder to organically get those "fall feels", although I'm sure some will come our way, especially since we have Dark Arts Sunday and Jack O Lantern Day both coming up in less than 2 weeks.

Tuesday is the day to keep your eye on. The magic 100 day marker to The Bers will be reached. Thats gonna be a heck of a milestone day, friends.

Have a great day!

We haven't even reached 100 days to the Bers, and yet I'm looking at the countdown and I see that

DAYS TO OCTOBER: 135

and I'm already thinking about how NEXT month we will be hitting that 100 days to October milestone, and it's blowing my mind.
Yes as well as hitting the 200 days to Christmas milestone - June is really going to be something. In many ways, "the last stand" before stuff starts changing with our big box stores (Home Depot, Lowes, etc...)

DAYS TO JOL DAY: 11
DAYS TO THE BERS: 104
DAYS TO OCTOBER: 134
DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 164

Good Morning and Happy Friday! Sounds of thunder woke me this morning, we have a small storm moving through. The overcast skies might keep us from getting as hot as it called for - 90 today, and 92 on Saturday.

I mentioned it yesterday but these are the kinds of days you really miss The Bers.

Here in a few more days it will be time to start looking towards June - which has a few milestones worth mentioning. @The_Escalation pointed out yesterday that we will be reaching the 100 Days to October milestone. It will be a big month indeed, we will see every count on this thread except for "Days to Halloween" dip to under 100 days ! We will also ring in on the Thanksgiving Thread 150 days to November! Also, and the main Christmas thread will have a pretty big day, that's reaching the 200 Days to Christmas Marker.

But lets savor this last week or so of May - a BIG milestone coming up next week and we all know what it is. I never want to wish away a Jack O Lantern day or Rudolph Day either!

Have a great Friday, friends!

I am looking so forward to JOL Day this month, mainly because I really miss Spooky Spring. I tried to catch the same "lightning in a bottle" feeling this month with Halfsgiving, but I never really had any good ideas about how to do so. May just isn't a mirror image of November in the same way that April is of October.

So yes, JOL Day and Halloween feels are back at the forefront, right after we're done celebrating 100 days to the Bers and Memorial Day.

Also, I just finished playing "Bioshock Infinite" tonight, and there are definitely some things in that game that would qualify as "spooky." There aren't any real horror vibes, but there are more than a few unsettling scenes that do evoke some Halloween-like eerieness.

Fall weather here. It rained overnight and it was 50 degrees when I woke up this morning. Cloudy and breezy. Having my plants out on the patio has really made me remember how much I enjoy watching them grow all summer and into the fall!

BROTHER! I love the Bio Shock games! Infinite was my favorite of the three. I loved the old-timey seeming people, and the bright colors and locations after being down in the murky depths of Rapture for the past two games.

Have you played the original Bio Shock? That one has TONS of scary and horror elements and I think would make a very good movie! I love that game!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! The first Sweat Fest Weekend is now here upon us. But, in my book, the "Sweat Fest" doesn't officially begin until the 100 days to The Bers is reached, so sadly, this weekend is the "Preview" to the Sweat Fest. Yuck.

I'm getting all of my outside work down as early as possible so I don't die while trying to mow the grass when it is 100 degrees. Water will be my friend today, and I'll probably consume lots of it while doing just the simplest tasks. I can't state enough how much I HATE hot weather. It serves no purpose to me other than to make me miss Fall and The Bers, and for that, I'm grateful I suppose.

Tomorrow is not a milestone day, but it will mark only one week until the next round of Dark Arts Sunday, so that's pretty snazzy. Have a great day!

You are getting your outside work done early to avoid the heat, I am waiting for the temperature to go up to the 50s at least before I do my outside work. You send me some heat and I'll send you about fifteen degrees of cold. Deal?

Great idea LadyLynn, and if that doesn't work, maybe we could send @SolidSnake84 our pumpkin seeds in little containers to get them off to a good start and then he could send them back to us? LOL!

I played the original when it first released back in the 360/PS3 era and was blown away. Absolutely loved every minute of that game. From the opening sequence where the splicers are trying to cut into the bathysphere to get you, I knew it was going to be something special.

I never played Bioshock 2, and I hadn't played Infinite until just now, but I definitely agree with you so far that Infinite is my favorite of the series. I love the 1920s setting, and Columbia was much more pleasing to explore than Rapture, although having Rapture show up at the end was a nice throwback and really surprised me. My mind is reeling after finishing the main story last night, and I'm still processing that trippy ending (Booker IS Comstock?!). I'm hoping that the DLC expansions will fill in some of the gaps.

Then finally I will go back and play Bioshock 2. I heard it's the weakest one, so I saved it for last.

DAYS TO THE BERS: 102
DAYS TO OCTOBER: 132
DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 162

Good Morning Halloween Friends! I got through day 1 of the "preview to the SweatFest". It got to 92 yesterday and felt every degree like it.

As the day concluded, I finally made my trek over to Hobby Lobby. As soon as I went through the front doors, I could smell the pumpkin spice and other fall scents and I knew that more Fall stuff had arrived. And It had. I actually saw employees putting stuff up out of boxes. Fall Decorations, lots of pumpkins now sitting on top of the shelves. It was amazing. I didn't have the stones to ask them when Christmas stuff was coming out, but my hunch says that they will wait completely to June 1st, I base this on the intelligence I have received that says they have Christmas Trees and other stuff in the back right now.

Next weekend this time is Dark Arts Sunday. Next up is Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. But the BIG next up is tomorrow. Holy cow folks we will be standing on a powder keg.

Have a great day!

Spring weather has arrived and looks like it will hang around for the next 7-10 days, we had an unseasonable 7 day Sweat Fest preview earlier this month, so I am going to the weather and look forward to all the milestones and celebrations!
