• Operation Christmas Cheer
Just 8 weeks until the BEST week of the year arrives, still no signs of the grocery stores posting their holiday meal offerings, so I can start the process of deciding if I am going to partake in a store bought meal again or if I need to start planning my own menu and shopping lists!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 58
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 35

Happy Awesome Autumn! Today folks we look at our counts and see we have 58 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 35 days to go until November. Our next milestone will be on Saturday folks. I know. Saturday is a great day as it is but now throw a milestone into it and it makes it even more special. It will be the Arrival Of October here in our Awesome Autumn. And it has been quite awesome in the early stages (hence my intro today). Apple picking is one of my favorites as you know. And I saw a really cool hayride happening when I was there on Sunday. It really made me think of Halloween and Thanksgiving. Just a great thing for sure. It’s amazing to be where we are in the Autumn season with so much great stuff to go still. For all you turkey fans I hope your plates are full with good food this time of year. Don’t wait till the big day to enjoy yourself. I know CW has several mini Thanksgiving dinners during the year. It’s a great idea if you don’t already do that to begin with. Nothing folks beats Thanksgiving dinner. Just thinking about it now makes me drool. Football season has been interesting so far. All things that really are involved in Thanksgiving are just awesome. And we know the Macy’s Parade news is starting to pop up more and more. Moving along here in later September now. What a wonderful time of year. Have a great Awesome Autumn!

I'm just sitting here, waiting to see my favorite bird. And eat him too!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 57
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 34

Happy Latter September! Today folks we move along and see our counts look like the following: 57 days till Thanksgiving and 34 days till November. Our next milestone will be on Saturday and it will be indeed the Arrival Of October. We are all continuing our Awesome Autumn in this thread with our Weekly Wednesday poll.

Select from the following choices best 2-month combo:

  • June/July
  • August/September
  • October/November
  • December/January
  • I’m picking C. I purposely didn’t group Nov/Dec because everyone pretty much would pick it. I know December is still #1 to most but then you have to also take January with it and deal with the PCB’s, freezing cold winter etc. I’m sticking with C. That way I get my Halloween Season/Thanksgiving (of course) and the early part of the Christmas Season. What about you? Keep those answers ready for me turkey fans. Have a great Latter September!

In the coming days we should get an announcement from Popeye's (hopefully) about the return of their cajun turkey. I could go for that and a big plate of mac and cheese right now.
One of the things that we haven't been able to have for a long time now since Holly has been having to keep Blood Sugar in check with Gestational Diabetes (her Mom and two sisters had it while pregnant), is the wonderful pan of Mac and Cheese from Costco. It was / is an absolute "go to" during Holiday meals here. And it can't come soon enough.

With about 2 - 3 weeks to go in the pregnancy, we know for sure that the ole' Mac and Cheese will return well in time for Thanksgiving and going forward!

It is C for me too, I definitely enjoy the prepping and the planning and the beautiful weather too much to be tempted by Dec/Jan

I wish we had a Costco near here. The closest one is about an hour and a half away. Otherwise I'd try this famous mac and cheese pan. I can never get enough mac and cheese.

I'm going to have to go with C. Indeed, if November and December had been grouped together, this would have been a no-brainer. However, the last week of December and the overall "blahness" of January just don't do it for me. October and November are where it's at!
