Thanksgiving 2022 Thread

The weather has cooled, October is just about here, and I have started thinking about Thanksgiving more and more lately. It is kind of hard to believe it will be here soon.

I still am not seeing to many leaves changing color or dropping yet. Hopefully that changes here very soon. I love the atmosphere that it brings from Halloween season through Thanksgiving.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 54
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 31

Happy Welcome To October! Today folks we have 54 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 31 days to go until November. Happy Milestone Day folks! We have reached the Arrival Of October and it is not just a new month milestone. It is the FINAL month now before the journey back to November is complete. 10 months down and 1 to go. That’s pretty crazy. You all know I love October so I’m hoping it drags along as slowly as possible. And even if you aren’t a fan of October too much I know you want it to drag on so we can get a long build back to our month here in this thread of November which is the best overall month of the year. We are moving along in our Awesome Autumn. And our next milestone is going to be the “Final Fifty” Till Thanksgiving. It will be in 4 days. That would mean it will happen on Wednesday next week. And we’ll have our weekly poll with it as well. Well now that we’re in October we have a full month folks to be here together. Our time of turkey, stuffing and gravy is still ahead of us. And will be all month long. That’s a good thing because I’m not sure about you but where the heck did September go? Is it just me or did that month go faster than the previous 8 did? Maybe I’m just imagining it. To be honest, I feel like July 4th was yesterday and it’s almost 3 months now. Yikes. Can the Macy’s Parade be that far behind? I know. We have to really hit the brakes and the weekend is a great time to do that. Enjoy your Saturday everyone and the beginning of October. Have a great Welcome To October!​
 
We're just four days away from the "Final Fifty" to Thanksgiving. Wowsers.

Yesterday, we were preparing for the arrival of the remnants of Ian. I was out checking gutters, examining downspouts, etc., and I was surprised at how much the temperature made me think of November instead of October. The last couple of nights have been down in the 40's. That's pretty cold weather. Even later this week, we have our first stretch of days where the overnight low gets into freezing territory.

It's my hope that this year Thanksgiving is on the cool side. The past several years it has been very warm on Thanksgiving, and it doesn't help us "feel" like we are in the holidays. Same thing when it's 65 or 75 degrees on Christmas Day. Just doesn't feel right.

I always hope for a sunny but chilly day for Thanksgiving, but we get rainy and windy about half the time. I am beginning to think the Canadians have the right idea by having it in October, but that wouldn't help you @SolidSnake84

DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 30

Happy Awesome October! Today folks we have 53 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 30 days to go until November. Our next milestone will be in 3 days folks. It will be on Wednesday and it will be the “Final Fifty” Till Thanksgiving. Think about it. Our final “Final Fifty” in this thread. Yikes. Let’s think about that and consider it as we continue moving happily through our Awesome Autumn. And hoping these October days are long and fun for all of you. Now if you’re a turkey or a fan of them at least like everyone in this thread is then you’re thinking well as long as we stay in October we still have the best overall month of the year in front of us. November. We’ll be still celebrating Halloween stuff, building to Thanksgiving, enjoying the Christmas Season & last but not least have Thanksgiving Day. Wonderful folks. Truly wonderful and that’s why we need to lengthen October any way that we can to stay in it as long as we possibly can. For all of you turkey fans I just want to say thank you for being here all these months from late last autumn all through the winter and spring (and summer). And now here in early autumn enjoying the ride with me. Plenty of time to go. But just want to put that out there early enough this year. Now enjoy your football Sunday here in Autumn & October. I am really digging this cool weather, but I hope it isn't on the downhill slide from here. The last few weeks of September were cooler and milder, but October, in its two days we have had it so far, have been downright cold. Needing to use heat at night. Which I think is very early for this time of year. Usually we aren't using the pellet stove until closer to Halloween.

I also agree with doing anything that can make October feel longer. September I feel like sort of flew by. I don't want October to do the same thing. The truth is, I am not ready to even begin thinking about what I will do after Christmas Season 2022 is over.

This is the time of year that I really enjoy paying more attention to the grocery stores sale flyers as they start stocking the holiday and pantry items that herald in Thanksgiving, Christmas, and cold weather. Hot Chocolate was the first one that really got my attention this week! It is almost as exciting as seeing the Weekly Countdown on Mondays!

DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 29

Happy October Week! Today folks we have 52 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 29 days to go until November. Our next milestone will be the day after tomorrow which is Wednesday. It will be the “Final Fifty” Till Thanksgiving. Weren’t we just over 350 days till Thanksgiving? Now we somehow have moved 300 days since then? Yikes. But it will be a big milestone for sure here in our Awesome Autumn and we’ll be here with a poll to acknowledge and celebrate it. It’s Monday so as usual I will give you our Weekly Countdown Till Thanksgiving Week which now stands at 7 weeks. Lucky #7. Can you believe that folks? Moving along through single digits now. Geez. We better hope October lasts as long as possible. And it starts with enjoying this coming week and getting the most out of it that we can. It’s a great time of year. Autumn. And it really cooled off fast this year so it feels like Autumn (even more like November lately than October). Now for all of you turkey fans I hope you are doing well and enjoying your Monday. I love Mondays. I love coming home from work on a Monday. It’s almost as satisfying as a Friday to me. Just being able to come home and relax after the first work day of the feels great to me. Keep a turkey thought in your head all day long and enjoy the football game tonight. Have a great October Week!​
 
Here we go! The first full week of October! A whole week of Spooky stuff!

And we will see the 50 days to Thanksgiving milestone THIS WEEK. I'm like Edge and just remembering that not long ago, or what felt like not long ago, we were still in the hundreds. And one of my favorite "mini milestones" for any Holiday is the 300 day marker. It really seems like it wasn't so long ago.
