• Operation Christmas Cheer
Here's a question that I'll just throw out this morning: Does anyone else here have a Thanksgiving or November playlist?

It sounds weird, but I am always looking for songs to add to my many Bers playlists. I also "theme" my playlists, so for example -- my November playlist starts off with more Fall-like songs before hitting the big theme of Thanksgiving, and then transitions into more winter-themed songs and a couple of "Christmas anticipation" songs at the end.
No. I do not have a November playlist but i have some Thanksgiving songs on my fall playlist.

I use my Halloween playlist more now but i still listen to the fall playlist some too. I will still mix it in with my 2 Christmas playlists in the early part of November until I transition over to full Christmas. I like variety and enjoy mixing it up were I can.

I do not but thank you for posting this, I am getting lots of ideas!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 45
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 22

Happy Double Digits October! Today we move ahead into a brand new week of October. It’s awesome. And we have 45 days remaining until Thanksgiving while we have 22 days to go until November (double 2’s). Our next milestone will be in a dozen days and it will be the Home Stretch Till November. I know all of you are looking forward to it like I am. It’s going to be awesome. But what is awesome is our “Awesome Autumn” which continues here in October. It’s really truly awesome for sure. And with it being Monday I think it’s time for our weekly countdown till Thanksgiving week. And that is now at 6 weeks. Can you believe that? Half a dozen weeks folks until the best week of the entire year. I know you’re all excited as I am. And it’s a great time of year. Even for us turkey fans. I know this is not our season yet but heck we all know we love this entire Bers Season and the transitions we’ve seen from late summer into early autumn right into the Halloween Season. And it only gets better from here on out in this countdown. Now if you are a fan of turkey don’t worry. We have plenty of time to get ready for it. In fact, we have no milestones this week to worry about. But we will have a special poll on Wednesday and our new feature which seems to have caught on our “Thanksgiving Thought Thursday.” But let’s just enjoy our Monday folks. We have to enjoy every moment that we can here in this month of October. It keeps us away from Thanksgiving for a while and we all need that time to be able to get psyched up for it. Have a great Double Digits October!

That's kinda like what I do. My October playlist is just called "Spooky Season" and has all Halloween or Halloween-adjacent songs on it, so when I need to listen to some Autumn-ish songs in October I'll revert back to my September playlist (titled "The Bers Begin"). I don't bring out the Christmas music until November 1st.

I've tried to be on here every day! Sometimes I may not post but I always read!

This thread, and The Bers and Daily Holiday Hangout are my main hangout places outside of our Halloween thread and the main Christmas countdown.

I hate to see the counts dwindling down but the passage of time is a fact of life. And sometimes I think "counting down" can be just as much fun as the holiday itself.

I think this year went by really fast but I think that's because after we got the news that Holly was pregnant, the time really flew by. It's got the unfortunate side effect as well of making Autumn go by too fast.

Have a great day! Gobble Gobble time very soon!
Dwindling down can only lead to one thing...that inevitable post of 365 days to go!!..arghhh

For October I mostly listen to "cozy" jazz. Sometimes it will have a nice background of rain falling. That is intermixed with Christmas music. Often I will put a scene of looking out the window at colored leaves or of snow falling on the big 4K TV while the music plays.

I've begun buying the ingredients for my holiday baking. I project what events there will be and what I want to make so I know approximately what I'll need. It's nice to spread the cost over a few weeks, plus if i get the "urge" early the ingredients are at the ready. The new bakes for this year are Apple Butter Thumbprint Cookies and Apple Cider Donuts.

Now if you are a fan of turkey don’t worry. We have plenty of time to get ready for it.
I'm starting to get anxious. I wish I already had a bird in the freezer. I think we will start getting everything we need for the big day next week.

Happy Columbus Day everyone! We are heading home now and I actually have regular cell phone coverage. So I will say that the black bears were extremely grumpy this year. We ended up with 4 bears and 2 moose. On the downside I just paid $7.17 a gallon for diesel up here..sad times.
Those kind of gas prices kind of make we want to throw up!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 44
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 21

Happy Spooky October! Today folks we have 44 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 21 days to go until November. Our next milestone is going to be our Home Stretch Till November and it will be in 11 days. Right now though I’m trying to just enjoy my Tuesday. And although Tuesdays aren’t anything overly special in this thread maybe they can become it? I’ve got some ideas to make Tuesdays more fun. Maybe Thanksgiving picture day or another idea you may have. I’m open to suggestions even if it’s for next year’s thread. We’ve been ok this year with keeping Tuesday pretty easy and not with anything too special. Although, in this thread let’s be real every single day is special to us. And the count now folks is getting more serious by the day. And soon it will be by the hour. We have to prepare ourselves as we move closer into the middle of the month of October. There is nowhere else to go from here but forward. Monday was a good day and I hope Tuesday will be the same for all of you. And I hope you all get to enjoy the fun of the holiday season when it arrives as well especially all the turkey, stuffing and gravy (and CW’s cranberry sauce). Now for all you turkey fans enjoy your Tuesday will you? I know that I will try to do the same thing and I hope all of you will as well. Have a great day for sure and watch out for any turkeys around this time of year. Have a great Spooky October!

Sometimes I really think that counting down and chasing the milestones can be just as exciting as the day itself! Chasing all of the holidays, I used to just "celebrate" on the actual special days (Tom Turkey Day, Rudolph Day), but one thing I started doing this year was doing just a little splash of something on a milestone day. It really helped! I think I'll keep doing that as we go forward!
