DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 323
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 301
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 240

Happy January Mid-Week! Today folks we look at our counts and see 323 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 301 days to go until November, and 240 days left until The Bers. Our next milestone will be TOMORROW folks and you can see that it will be the 300-Day Marker Till November. That will be such a big one for all of us indeed. We move ahead here another day (one step at a time) through our Winter Wonderland with today’s Wednesday poll which is about rare Thanksgiving treats you’d like to add to your menu!

If you could add one of the following foods to eat on Thanksgiving which would it be?

  • Pizza
  • Ice Cream
  • Steak
  • Chicken Parm
  • I’m going with B. The reason? I think we have enough food for Thanksgiving dinner. As much as I love pizza that’s the one day of year I don’t feel the need to eat it. Chicken I eat on a regular basis. Steak just wouldn’t fit in to me on Thanksgiving. Ice cream is the one thing for dessert I would never get tired of and think it would actually fit in well on Thanksgiving night. What about you? Keep it real turkey people as we move ahead into another day. The best for you today is what I wish here in the early part of winter. Have a great January Mid-Week

Gotta go with A. Why? Because years ago at a company potluck my dept was a group of lazy dudes who couldn't prepare a side dish to save their lives. So we pooled our money and just ordered pizza. Of course everyone goofed on us. "Who brings pizza to a Thanksgiving potluck??!!" Guess what new and exciting side dish was the first to go?

I think I'm going to go with "A" for Pizza as well, because honestly Pizza is the one food that I never, ever think of or associate with Thanksgiving. I've never been to a potluck or anything anywhere that Pizza was a part of the Thanksgiving fixings. And I think it would be amazing to experience just once. Maybe when we celebrate "Halfsgiving" or "Friendsgiving" this year in May, we will have Pizza as an offering.

Have a great Wednesday!

I was just thinking of our lack of any decent amount of snow this year and how I didnt ship the sleds out west yet. I cant remember the town now, but we were caribou hunting and took a bush plane out of this town. I was grumbling the whole time because it snowed those big wet flakes. That town averaged around 20-30 feet of snow a year! Sometimes it would go to 50ish!

I'm going with B on this one. I love all my traditional foods and wouldn't want to fill up on anything else. But ice cream, just like jello, there's always room for that. Maybe just add a scoop to my apple pie.

I'm going to go with D on this one. We almost always have pizza on Thanksgiving Eve, and I have a lot of steak during grilling season. Chicken Parmesan is not something I eat regularly, and I honestly can't remember the last time I had it. But I would swap the turkey for chicken parm in a heartbeat. Less chance of chicken parm drying out, and just bathe it in marinara sauce if it does!

Hmm. This is actually a tough one for me. If we were talking about Christmas it would definitely be chicken parm. I really love the traditional foods for Thanksgiving rather than any other holidays. I never like to change the meal much.

I am going B since ice cream is a desert and I would be ok adding an extra dessert. Personally I am not an ice cream person but i know others in the family are.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 322
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 300
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 239

Happy Jumping January! Today folks we have 322 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 300 days left until November and 239 days to go until The Bers. It’s milestone day folks. And I think you know that it is the 300-Day Marker Till November. That means folks after today only ONE of our counts is in the “dreaded” 3’s. Crazy huh? Our next milestone? It’s back to back folks. It’s going to be a long (long) time from now though when it comes to milestones. 3 weeks from today we reach Tom Turkey Day #2 followed by the very next day (get ready) the 300-Day Marker Till Thanksgiving. WOW. We move ahead in the extremely early stages of our Winter Wonderland on this Thursday with our Thanksgiving Thought Thursday. Let’s get to it! Our favorite feature of the week!

I love the days leading into Thanksgiving. I know we have mentioned it in the past but sometimes we forget about it in the off-season. Those days leading up to it are almost as exciting (maybe even more) than the days leading up to Christmas. In a different way though. In a calmer way. With less fanfare but you feel it in the air. And that’s why I love those days from the weekend before Thanksgiving right through Thanksgiving Eve as a 5-day stretch right up there with the 5-day stretch leading into Christmas Eve/Day. Sounds crazy? Curious to your thoughts!

No matter what you are feeling today folks it’s Thursday so you better feel turkey, stuffing, gravy and everything Thanksgiving. Enjoy your Thursday folks. And really take it all in here in the early part of January. Have a great Jumping January!

I agree - Thanksgiving has a relaxing calm build to it. None of the sheer insanity that takes over when December hits and all of your stores get crazy busy. I used to really like seeing all that crazy stuff when I was a kid, like when I would go with my Mom and Grandma to Black Friday, but now that I am older, I like staying in and enjoying the calm lol. And the five days leading up to Christmas, well, they are a mixed bag with me. Happy, Sad, Anxious, there's really none of that with Thanksgiving.

Have a great day!
