Good Morning Halloween Friends! Happy Monday! A new week begins! Our next milestone will be on Saturday when we reach 100 DAYS TO HALLOWEEN SEASON. We are slowly but surely winding down these counts, as mentioned last week, towards the end of this month we will only have ONE countdown remaining in triple digits.

Nobody likes Mondays, so a small victory today will be just realizing this afternoon "hey", Monday is almost over. It always makes me smile.

It's a nice cool morning outside, 49 degrees and heading to 78 today. Have a great Monday!

Good morning Halloween fans!

This morning has a distinct Fall feeling as it is a little cooler and a really nice breeze.

I think I need to plant some more pumpkins, so far only one seed has sprouted. That will simply not do. So I will replant the other few mounds and see how they do. If they all end up coming up I will thin them out.
I hope you get some more sprouts soon, I've had a good turn out so for this year and may have to thin some out, but I plan on planting a few more rounds, I was going to stagger them 10 days apart but I think I am going to spread that out to 2 weeks. Keep us posted!

Glad yours are doing well. Our garden is not doing great in general. Part of it may be the soil, it was brought in by the company who put the raised beds in. We added some compost, but I think the soil might just not be nutrient rich enough. Then we were late planting and have had no rain since we planted. I water it every evening, but I think it has hurt the garden. Still hoping I can save it and or add to it.

We could use rain here too. I have 3 rain barrels and one is completely empty and the other two are both below 1/3rd. Even if I get the water right, wind is my next biggest enemy so I am letting all the sprouts go longer than I am sure is recommended but I don't want to prune too much and then loose the few that remain.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Happy Tuesday! I always feel a jolt upon waking up and realizing that it isn't Monday anymore. I mentioned it in the off-season thread yesterday. Really, even driving home from work on a Monday evening is a small victory, as it seems like the week incrementally gets "easier" going forward.

My Tuesday Halloween thought this week piggybacks off of our weekend, and when I planted pumpkins. It was a cool morning to work outside, and I had done some research beforehand on some strategies / tips / tricks to plant the pumpkins. Seeing all of the pictures online was a big dose of the feels. Heck, even holding the pumpkin seeds in my hands I felt very nostalgic, remembering being a kid and carving pumpkins and scooping out the seeds!

Today is supposed to be another cooler day. I'll take as many of them as we get lucky enough to have. Anything that makes the SweatFest feel like it might be shorter. The summer solstice is in two weeks. That's a big deal for us across these threads. July 4th is only 4 weeks away, and I'm about 6 weeks out from this day, of seeing the peak hottest days, historically for our summer.

Have a great Tuesday, friends!

My Tuesday Halloween thought:

I, like many others in this thread, have a "Spooky Season" playlist. One of my very favorite songs on this playlist that I only ever listen to during Halloween season is Lindsey Stirling's "Between Twilight." It is especially effective when driving somewhere with a gorgeous October sunset as the backdrop. The reason that I love this song so much is that it's not your typical spooky Halloween song. Instead, it very much evokes the entire feeling of October: magic, mysterious, and a bit haunting (in a good way). It very much sounds like something you'd imagine hearing as a group of spirits make a pilgrimage to "the other side." Even with no association to Halloween, I immediately link this song with cool, dark Autumn nights. It's so great!

This was in my head today because my daughter was listening to Lindsey Stirling yesterday, and everytime I hear Lindsey Stirling my mind immediately goes to this song and how happy I'll be when I hear it again.

Lindsey Stirling is pretty much inspirational on all of her songs!

Happy Wednesday, Halloween Friends! Okay, it's Wednesday now so It's ok to start thinking about the weekend gradually. I love how it feels on Wednesday afternoons / Wednesday evenings when you know Thursday is on is way. Mini Friday! And of course we get that whole Friday magic / energy no matter what we are doing on Fridays. I have felt differently about making it to Thursdays for a while now, thanks to the outstanding Thanksgiving thread. It makes every week really feel like a 3 day weekend.

Our next milestone coming up is in 3 days, when we reach the 100 DAYS TO HALLOWEEN SEASON milestone. And fittingly, it arrives on Saturday, while we are in the heart of the weekend! Beginning on Sunday, we will be left with just TWO(!!) counts that are still in triple digits. We will be down to just one towards the end of June.

I also experienced some haziness yesterday due to the fallout from the Canadian wildfires. Driving to work the cool weather and seeing the Sun almost with its "Filter" due to the hazy conditions really made me feel like I was driving to work in the very early part of The Bers. It was quite a moment. But I'm sorry that it took the wildfires to cause that appearance. I didn't realize until someone told me at the office that was the reason it looked that way.

Have a great day, friends! Keep some October thoughts in the brain today and think of them when you get a quiet moment!

I'm just really, really happy and excited about the approaching second half of the year. I feel like after July 1st, it will be okay to think and talk about Halloween on a regular basis! Of course my co-workers would still think I was crazy if I mentioned Halloween in July.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Happy Thursday to you! Every Thursday, I basically feel like I've "made it" to the weekend. I know I haven't really, but Fridays just have a feel of their own, and even at work, the day feels Fun and seems to go by faster than any other day.

Today we reached 200 days to Christmas over in the main Christmas Countdown thread. To wake up and be in the 100's tomorrow in that count is going to be something else.

We are staring at our own 100 day milestone, and that is the 100 DAYS TO HALLOWEEN SEASON which will be here on Saturday! It's almost knocking on the doorstep!

Have a great day, friends! Think some Halloween thoughts!

Yesterday I went to my niece's house to watch her kids for a couple of hours so she could work on an assignment her Master's program and I took the kids on a walk in the stroller and on our way back to the house there was a yard that has a skeleton in it and I pointed it out to them (they had skeleton pajamas last year) and my great-nephew said, "I wish Halloween was now"! I can only imagine how long the 11 month wait must feel to a four year old!

Hello all!

Sorry I missed checking in yesterday. I got busy and then was fighting a headache all day and did not really want to look at a screen. Feeling better today.

I still have not made it to Hobby Lobby yet, and will not until at least the 19th. Hopefully by then they will have a full stock of Fall decor out.

We are excited about a Scarefest (Horror Convention) in Detroit in July. There are going to be three people from the old Twin Peaks show there as well as several other horror movie folks. We go to a lot of ComicCons but have never gone to a Horror Con. Should be a lot of fun. We will probably get a picture with the Twin Peaks folks.

I have posted before about the field across the street from me. It has always had hay or alfalfa or wheat. Last night the farmer came over with one of my neighbors. The father farmer is an old man with sun leathered skin and the wrinkles and squint of 60 years outdoors. I have never met the younger son and until last night I have never met the older son either. He didn't look like a real life farmer, he looked like an farmer from a Hallmark movie. Anyway, this year, they are rotating out crops and he wanted the help of the neighbors to give him a call if anyone starts messing with the crop as it matures. This year, they are planting PUMPKINS: sugar pumpkins, jack-o'-lantern pumpkins, gourds, decorative pumpkins. He said there would be nine varieties. But as I said, he is afraid of people stealing them because this is such a busy street. If I notice anything I will call him, but I am hopeful that this almost 80 acre pumpkin patch will be the most sincere and I can expect a special visit on Halloween night.
