DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 13

Happy Double Digits November! Today folks we have 13 days remaining until Thanksgiving. That’s less than 2 weeks. Wow. But our next milestone is in 3 days folks. That will be on Monday and it will be the Home Stretch till Thanksgiving. Unreal huh? Just unreal. My turkey friends we move along in our Awesome Autumn and really hanging on tight to it as we begin our quiet 3-day weekend period. Definitely a good weekend for quietness here. We need it because next week folks will be our FINAL week before Thanksgiving Week. Let that sink in will you? But for now folks I just implore you to enjoy today. Not rush to the weekend even. It’s not good to rush. I know when this count was 350+ days people would laugh when we’d say that but now they’re not laughing so much huh? Turkey friends let’s enjoy your Friday as we head towards such a big weekend ahead. And we definitely hope you enjoy the beginning of our quiet period here in this thread day 1 of 3 style. Turkeys out everywhere in the stores now and Thanksgiving decorations out at people’s houses. Throw in a Thanksgiving show or 2 and you see parade news as well. And everyone is feeling it folks. Feeling where we are and where we’re heading. Have a great Double Digits November!

Today is the last day of the countdown being in the teens. Time marches on.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 12

Happy Veteran’s Day! Today folks we have 12 days remaining until Thanksgiving. Wow. Our next milestone will be the day after tomorrow and will be our final one until Thanksgiving which will be the Home Stretch till Thanksgiving. We have a dozen days to go folks ahead of us in this thread. Amazing. I am ready for day 2 of 3 in our 3-day quiet weekend period. And if you are enjoying this thread and the 7-day setup we have say gobble gobble. Always open to change especially when we get to our new thread (which I can’t even fathom right now) but also if we’ve really hit the perfect mixture now let’s not change just to change. Turkey friends and family you all are great and I thank you for being here and keeping this thread as strong as it has been this year. And we still have plenty of days ahead of us to go in it. But now you all know how close we are. Turkey, stuffing, biscuits, gravy, cranberry sauce, and the list goes on and on. Do I really need to list every item you could think of on Thanksgiving Day? It will make your mouth water like mine is doing right now even though it’s breakfast time not dinner time. Keep it real my turkey friends and enjoy your time here today on this Saturday. Have a great Veteran’s Day!

So here’s an interesting question: For those of you who are parade fans, in what year did your favorite parade take place?

I’ll have to check YouTube real quick, because I don’t remember them all, but one of mine was, I think it was 2007, maybe? The one where Rick Astley showed up.

Favorite would be when the parade returned to normal after Covid so last year really (2021 was still not normal to me).

I can't remember the year, but it was a snowy parade.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 11

Happy Dozen Days Of November! We have 11 days remaining until Thanksgiving. Tomorrow folks will be our FINAL Milestone before we reach Thanksgiving (the ultimate goal and our final destination in this thread). It will be appropriately the Home Stretch till Thanksgiving. That’s what tomorrow will be and we’ll begin our normal 4-days of topics for the upcoming week for 1 more time before THE WEEK we wait for all year long. It’s coming friends. So you better get ready for it. Ready or not here it comes. My turkey friends we finish up our 3-day quiet weekend period. And it feels really good doesn’t it? A great time to enjoy with everyone here in this thread together and having fun with everyone who loves turkey and Thanksgiving. We are getting closer and closer to the big day folks. But we still have time. Picked up our 20LB turkey yesterday at the supermarket. Check mark. Got that done. Things are coming together. Normalcy still is going on here but it won’t be totally normal pretty soon. So turkey friends enjoy your Sunday and then we’ll begin a big week in this thread. Keep it real my turkey friends. And have a great Sunday with your family and/or friends no matter what your plans are today. Have a great Dozen Days Of November!

We got our free turkey on Friday. Weighs in just shy of 24 pounds. Last year we got a 27 pound turkey, it was WAY too huge, even though it tasted delicious, there was just TOO MUCH meat leftover even after everyone was finished eating. So 24 pounds is hopefully a good number for this year.

Almost "The Week Before" now, have a great Sunday!

I bought my turkey legs yesterday! I will be smoking them post Thanksgiving since Thanksgiving is not at our house this year. I will shoot for Friday or Saturday. I am also going to make spinach artichoke stuffing (trying something different) and some smoked mac and cheese. I still am thinking on a potato dish.

I have been ready for these drums since September. I can't wait.
