I love PBS.. I just watched a show called " Oxygen: Everyone's Favorite Gas..".....
I am surprised - I thought you would be watching "Coffee: Binger's Favorite Addiction". (It comes on right after "Mattresses: Crown's Favorite Destination".)

Good Morning, Friends, Christmas Lovers, Tea Lovers and.....yes.....even Coffee Lovers!

Let's get straight to our count:
Days to the Season: 290
Days to Christmas Day:332
A quick check of our Milestone chart shows the 1/4 Season Mark will be reached just 2 weeks from the day after tomorrow. Unbelievable!

It is overcast here in Raleigh at this hour where we stand at 42 degrees.
Rain is predicted for today and tomorrow.

Have a Terrific Tuesday, Everyone!

Trackrebe -- "PBS" stands for "Public Broadcastingt System". It is a network of television stations around the USA that generally shows educational or intellectual shows.....
PBS is also a viewer-supported network, rather than commercial.
Programs are advertisement free (except for brief product mentions sometimes at the begining of shows) making it more relaxing to watch.
(Then again you don't get bathroom breaks!)

Good morning!! Looks like we have birthdays galore!!! Happy Birthday to all your loved ones!! :-D My Mom will be 80 on Superbowl Sunday!!! She said she doesn't think her birthday has ever been on Superbowl Sunday before (which would make sense since they just moved the superbowl back a few years ago...) We are having a party for her at my sisters! She thinks it's just us (her kids & grandkids) but really we invited her brothers & sisters too. But what she really wanted for her birthday is coming up in July - we are all (kids, grandkids, great grandkids - about 40 of us) going away for her birthday...we have 2 condo's (6 units) rented at a lake in Indiana...we are bringing 2 speed boats & a pontoon. There is a golf course nearby. Should be a grand celebration!! :D

We got about an inch of snow overnight...supposed to get a little freezing rain (UGH) this afternoon & then 4-6" of snow tonight & another inch tomorrow!!! But I don't believe them...they always get me all excited & then NOTHING! Lol!!!

As long as everybody stays safe...LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW!!

Have a great day everybody!!!

another blizzard warning tonight into tomorrow!

then by the end of the week, we are in for a deep freeze!!! -16 to -18 deg celsius

sam champion on good morning america said that if chicago doesn't get another flake of snow for the rest of the season, we'd still be above normal for snow amounts

i love it!!!

Y'all do Celsius in Chicago? Hmm. Sounds like a movie title!

Good Morning Christmas People!!!

Snow Arrived! Children are happily out of school!!! If we are going to have cold weather -- it is pretty with snow!

I went to the Pet Store and got pet-safe, plant-safe, concrete-safe deicer.

I put out lots of food for the birds. OK, I got a 5-pound bag of peanuts for the squirrrels. Squirrels don't have the easiest life. I know lots of people HATE them.
So I will fed them so they stay at my house, and don't bother you. OK?

You mean every day/noon/night destination..

hellooooooooooooooo!

it´s 11:30pm....family is asleep...Darma&Greg is running on the TV...and I am on my favorite cyber forum...I hope everything is alright with everyone....my mom´s b-day was nice....we had pizza when everyone was gone....my first pizza that was not frozen 15minutes before eaten hahaha....so that was great.

Kandice and I will go the toddler gymnastics....in the next few weeks I will email a former classmate of my brother...she has a dance-school and offers children´s dancing and stuff like that...I think most of it to hip hop music...which is cool to me...she´s always dancing when she hears music...and has rhythm....so...dancing and the gymnastics will kinda get her energy out a bit (kandice got lots of energy...which I love....but sometimes....it´s a bit much...haha...but still alright)....anyway....I will ask her what it costs and when she could start (I wrote her last year...and she said the kids are 4 years and up....but that Kandice could start at 3...and she turns 3 now :D)

btw....I ran through mom´s old records and found some sampler´s with 60´s and 70´s music on em....listened to em.....Hey Mr. Tamborine Man.....Ruby Tuesday......If You Got To San Fransisco...The Love Them from Love Story....I had to think of the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s thread CharlestonNole opened....it was lots of fun...and Kandice and I were dancing

MORE Snow is coming! Do you have supplies? Birdseed? De-icer for the steps? No falling down allowed! Falling down is NOT good!

If and when it snows -- I will turn the outside Christmas lights on again! I lvoe the way they look under the snow - peeking out and glowing!

Speaking of de-icer. There I was sitting at a huge board table and one of the people at the table was apologizing for her hoarse cough and explained she had a terrible cold. On the table near her spot was a small bottle of de-icer the size of a nasal spray bottle. I turned to her and very calmly and said, "I'm not a doctor, but I don't think you should be putting de-icer up your nose, perhaps that's your problem." They all laughed.
She said it was for the locks on the doors at work. I think she was trying to get stress leave. :hello: Nice try.

I made it to the Christmas store that closes at the end of the month. Should have gone sooner. Not much left. I did okay though. I got two items I saw before the holidays that I was considering picking up for one of my brother's, but he emailed and asked that we not exchange gifts this year. I kind of obliged, but still had to get him a little something so I made a slideshow for him of all my favourite photos. I plan on giving them to him for his birthday in April or for Christmas in July. They'll look great in his cottage. I didn't find a reindeer like the one I saw in Jana's photo album, but I found a stylish one I admired and picked it up along with a mantle clock. I also picked up a few unique ornaments and small red bell for my tree for next year. The cost of everything was a few dollars less than the original price of the reindeer so I did pretty good.

:hello: I can't tell you how much fun it was to be shopping in a Christmas store near the end of January.

cheesy Maybe I can or maybe you had to be there ...

Two women were shopping together and they seemed as thrilled as I was to be picking up a few goodies after Christmas. Everything was 70% off except for the Christmas Trees (they were marked down, but only by about 40%). One woman was kind of talking to herself since her friend was on the other side of the store, but I was nearby. She apologized for talking to herself out loud. "Don't mind me, I'm just rambling to myself." I said, "that's okay, sometimes that's the only time I can have an intelligent conversation." She laughed and carried on.

I was finishing up my business with the cashier and she and her friend saw my clock and she wanted one too. I heard her make a few comments while she was shopping that sounded a bit "down" so when she was reading a large gold plague that read "Peace, Joy, Hope" and said, "oh sure, hope, what's that?"

I turned to her and asked, "do you have a terminal illness, you seem a bit cynical?" She said, "nah, I don't have a terminal illness and I'm not a bit cynical - I'm a whole lot cynical." Her friend chimed in "don't mind her, she's out on "leave" from the "psych" (hospital up the hill near the outskirts of town)".
We all kind of chuckled. As I was leaving, I turned back and said, "it's almost 2:00, don't forget to take your medication." She turned to her friend and said, "she seems like fun, like to run into her when she's our age." (Think she thought I'd become cynical by then. The thing is I'm sure they're only about ten years older than me, I look young for my age.)

It was nice to joke around with strangers. I don't think I'd have done that if we'd been shopping in Wal-Mart or somewhere like that, but being surrounded by the "feeling of Christmas" made us a little merrier than usual.

good morning my friends.....ot´s cloudy day today....vcery annoying....I love Winter weather when it´s ice cold and snowy....but I don´t like it too much when it´s just grey....I still are in a good mood....Kandice is allowed to watch Strawberry Shortcake...and after that five minutes of Go Diego Go...and that´s it for Children´s TV for today.

not much to do today....just going to toddler gymnastics...other than that....it will be a relaxing day

Morning all! It's another Snow storm here.Kids are off today. We'll get an inch per hour then it will turn to rain, thats a pain.will be very icy,its 21 degs.
I hope you all have a great day!

Good morning, my friends! It is lightly snowing making it look so beautiful out. Still cold, though. I have a busy day ahead of me, but I wanted to wish every one a very good day!!

.....

Oh, oh Auntie. You only have 10 years left to be optimistic.
(Nice story!)

Good Morning, Friends and Christmas Cyber-Neighbors.
What got you out of bed this morning? Was it work, the weather, tea, coffee, thoughts of Christmas.....the need to turn a mattress??

Whatever the reason, welcome to the thread this morning!
Let's check on the count (unless you are playing chess, in which case you must count on the check):
Days to the Season: 289
Days to Christmas Day:331
The 1/4 Season Milestone arrives 2 weeks from tomorrow. We are moving right along!

Well, we got the promised rain and more is falling this morning. It should continue off and on all day.
At least it isn't below freezing so we are avoiding the icy conditions to the west.
It's no fun to loose your power when it's frigid out, as we well learned in December of 2002 when falling limbs took our power out for close to a week here in Raleigh. (We had to delay putting up our Christmas tree that year for the first time!)

Have a Wonderful Wednesday (and from Carl.....a "Happy Hump Day").
Don't that weekend view look nice, Holiday, from the peak-of-the-week?
Carl says it's particularly nice from the roof of the Shispering Pines on clear days. (Wonder how he got up there to find out??)

Hey guys! It's an overcast day to day with a slight chance of rain. Supposed to be in the low 70's. Not very wintery, huh? The weather man says it'll be below freezing this weekend, however. We'll see!:cold:

Bradmac - your weather sounds so nice today.......

Here - it is "bowl of steaming hot soup" day. "Let's have a fire" day. "What is on TV - I sure hope we don't lose electricity" day.

good evening all!

my best friend gave birth yesterday to a beautiful, healthy baby boy named jack, i am going to spend the day with them tomorrow.

oooh! my favourite song in the whole world is playing on mmc radio!!!! the pogues - fairytale of new york. cheesy

Johnor - How wonderful! I'm sure you will be an enormous help to your best friend! And what a great introduction to what you can expect when you have your own baby in September!

Well we've gotten about 9" of snow so far. Maybe more. This storm is supposed to last until about 1am.
I don't know why we act so surprised when we get this weather. LOL
I was driving home and passed the sign that said "Entering Adirondack Park" and it seemed as if I was seeing it for the first time. Funny how stuff like that happens.
It's still snowing, and now it sounds like the wind might be starting. As long as I can get out of my driveway in the morning for work, that's all I care about. cheesy
