truly truly outrageous
Here on the West Coast we have to wait a while to see what you guys are seeing. If I'm here next week (LA) maybe I'll just try to crash Idol itself...(fat chance).
I am trying, for the life of me, to see what the big deal is about Adam Lambert. Something about the dude makes my skin crawl. He can sing and all that...just can't stand to lay my eyes on him. It's painful, gross and disgusting to me. That being said, his performance was fine but to me it was completely indistinguishable from when he did "Satisfaction". Every performance from this guy is going to be the same. If they have a "Scorpians" night or a "Queen" theme night he'll do fine. But let's see him do George Strait, George Michael or Boy George...take your pick, I think he's a one-note Johnny because all we've seen is the same from him.
To me Gokey was a real surprise tonight. Didn't think he could do something like that and he is still the favorite I think to beat.
Lil Rounds, Meagan, Matt Giraud, etc all seemed to be pretty predictable and ok.
Jasmine I think could be gone this week, but it is still wide open.
I'm also disconcerted about the whole "judges" thing that will be announced tomorrow. I don't care what it is...I'm tired of them and tired of such a big deal being made of them. To me, the best thing they could do is put paper bags over their heads and gags over their mouths.

I missed the majority of it, as usual. Had the basketball awards ceremony last night. Of those I did see, Adam was the best, but I agree with Jeff, he's sort of creepy to look at. Black nail polish on a guy just shouldn't be allowed. My husband can't stand him.
The little blurbs at the end, I loved Danny, but that's no surprise.

The reason they gave her #36 and not #13 is that #13 is a porn line -- no kidding.
I think they get calls "just out of curiosity" all the time.
So the new rule is "in case the audience screws up & votes somebody off that they clearly meant to keep, the judges will be able to save them from themselves and it definitely wont happen again next week"

First of all, the new rule. It does just the opposite of what it should -- it gives the judges more power. Know what I think they should do to make AI more interesting? Changing the voting. Have people vote people OFF. Instead of calling for those you want to keep, text or call for those you detest. Calls would double from 30 million to 60 million in the first week of the change and watchability of AI would increase ten fold just to hear Ryan say "America voted, and you sucked the most in their eyes!"
As is the case at this point, the voting off of Jasmine and Jorge surprised no one. Ok, Jorge surprised a little as his personality had endeared him to many. But honestly -- was he ever going to really make it?
The worst of the night, however, had to be Kanye, a zero talent performer who just showcased that he could never have survived a vote. I know I'm in the minority here but honestly can you really call that incessant crap music and is it really entertaining? Puhleeeeeease.
As for Kelly, well....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

It started this morning on the local radio show. They made some stupid joke about how she looked like she was stung by some really big bee or something and was swelling up. Then they said that she can still sing! How nice of them.
I heard that Kelly Clarkson and Kanye were going to be on and I had planned on recording it and I forgot! I wanted to see that one. I heard on the radio that Kanye didn't do so well as a live singer.
