I'm baaaaaack!

We got discharged this morning officially at about 10:30 AM, but the paperwork didn't come back for us to sign until about 11:30, and after that we had to wait for "Transport" (A guy pushing a wheel chair) to take Holly down to the ground floor.

We made a quick trip to the pharmacy for Holly's pain medicine, and then got back home by about 12:30-ish. Ironically enough it was around the same time that we got home when we had Abigale in 2022!

I'm ready to step back to the helm on our way to Halloween 2025. Huge Thanks to @Rich for keeping the count going while I was away!

Gorgeous weather on the 100 Days to The Bers milestone. Feels like fall out there!

Happy Chilly Sunday Morning Halloween Friends! It's 52 degrees outside and heading to a high of just 69 degrees.

The big change on the counts this morning is obviously being under a week now until JOL Day #4, and DOUBLE DIGITS now until The Bers arrive.

Let me tell you friends, it was absolutely a surreal moment when I learned that we were going to be released on the same day that "The Road" opened up. For many months, I visualized Memorial Day Weekend and realized that this year it could potentially be the biggest victory over anything in my life. Visualizing something and then doing it are two different things though. I deserve no credit - Holly is the undisputed champion here. She worked hard for MONTHS, did a diet and exercised as much as she could. She/We were desperate to avoid a NICU stay again like we had with Abigale, and she just wanted to be like a "normal" person and go home from the hospital with her baby after 48 hours like "everyone else". And man, did she ever do that. She walked through the second C-section like it was walking through the park. And the feeling of all being home now and finding out what the "new normal" looks like is really something else.

Enjoy "The Road", folks! I sure am. Big Day #2 of a 3 day holiday weekend. Think some spooky thoughts today!

Hey everybody! I’m popping in to update everyone. My son was born this morning at 8:35 am. One ounce shy of 7 pounds. Holly’s spinal epidural worked and she was able to be awake for the whole surgery and get to hold him when he came out. This surgery went easier and faster even than the first one.

We are both up in mother baby right now. Holly and I just finished dinner, and she is breastfeeding Jason at the minute.

Hearing nothing “official” yet, but it would seem like Saturday sometime is when we are going home. Head nurse mentioned 48 hours for C section. Holly is doing great pain wise.

I would have never imagined in my wildest dreams that this soon on “Day 1” I would be having a normal conversation with Holly and watching Harry Potter in the hospital!!

Thank you all who prayed for me and wished me well. I felt it today. I hope to have a better update tomorrow!
Congrats!!!!

Evening Halloween Fans! I hope you are all doing well. It is a cool day here but not bad. It's milder than it has been. Temperatures are struggling to get close to normal. The coming week promises we should be close to normal. Bring out the shorts for good this time. Happy Halloween!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Happy Memorial Day to you all. Day #3 of the 3 day weekend. We're reaching a high today of 70 degrees and it should be brilliantly sunny. A classic "Bers" Day, if you will.

5 days away from JOL Day #4, and it will be here on a Saturday, which will remind me/us of the Halloweekend when Halloween gets here this year. Our next milestone will be in 8 days when we reach 150 DAYS TO HALLOWEEN. That's the very last time we will have a 150 day milestone in this thread! Very surreal.

Have a great day, folks! Try and sneak in some Halloween / Bers thoughts!

Happy Tuesday Halloween Friends, or "pumpkin people" as Rich excellently quoted us. Memorial Day is in the rearview mirror now, which means we are heading down "The Road" and all of us here know where that road takes us.

4 days until JOL Day #4, and now we are just ONE WEEK away from the very last time we will ever see a 150 Day milestone in this current thread.

When I am sent out to gather supplies today, I'm going to pop by Hobby Lobby and take a peek and see if any Christmas stuff is actually on the shelves now. Also get a good look again at Fall stuff when I'm in there. It should be any time now that Christmas hits the shelves.

Have a great Tuesday, folks!

Evening Halloween Fans! I hope your week is going well. I keep thinking it's Monday. Well this summer I'm really going to be mixed up wtih days. I have 6 straight 3-day weekends planned this summer. I don't think I ever took that many in a row before. Happy Halloween!

I stopped by our HL yesterday and saw nothing new. I’m sure well see a lot of changes in the next few weeks.

Our HL had almost as much Christmas as Autumn and there is a lot of both!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! A very rainy Wednesday today, and staying cool, not breaking 60 degrees. I try to enjoy every day like this because I know that Sweat Fest is just out there waiting to kick off. My wish every year? Is that it takes its sweet time getting here so really the only months we suffer through is July and part of August. Right now the start of June looks pretty cool, I'll take that for as long as we can because everybody knows what comes next, it is inevitable.

We're just 3 days away now from JOL Day #4, and cruising towards our next milestone which will be in six days when we celebrate the very final 150 Day milestone in this current year thread, that milestone being 150 DAYS TO HALLOWEEN. Also very cool? On that same day we will see 90 Days to The Bers. That's not a milestone per say, but pretty cool none the less.

Our son has his first well-baby / doctor checkup visit today at 2:00. Holly goes tomorrow to see her surgeon / OB and she is getting the wound-vac pump removed (It is a tiny thing about the size of a wallet and me describing it makes it sound worse than it actually appears), and she is most likely getting clearance to drive again, which she is looking forward to.

Have a great rainy Wednesday! Even still being off, I love Wednesdays just as much!

Good Morning Halloween Friends and Pumpkin People! Moving right along in our counts today - just two days until JOL Day #4, getting ready to break into 50's territory pretty soon on Fall Pre-Season, and we will have simultaneous special days in 5 more days when we reach 90 DAYS TO THE BERS and 150 DAYS TO HALLOWEEN. I don't think I've ever done anything "special" to ring in 90 days to The Bers, but this year I feel like I will. Just to honor the season and put a bow on everything we went through.

Holly heads to the OB/Surgeon today to have the woundvac removed and hopefully get clearance to drive again. I know she's been looking forward to that. Can't believe it's been a whole week since she had surgery and our son was born.

It got cool here yesterday - the high only reached 55, and with the chilly rain it felt much cooler. We turned on the pellet stove yesterday when the house started to feel chilly. What a huge dose of feels, and also probably a personal record, I can never remember needing HEAT of any kind this late in May. There might be ONE more night like that, Saturday the high here is only in the low 60's, and overnight it gets down in the low 40's. That would honestly be a PERFECT addition to JOL Day, the pellet stove burning and some fall candles and the electric Jack O Lantern. It would really feel like October!

Have a great day!

Hello Halloween fans!

The weather has been so nice and cool this week. Today is another cool day; certainly the Fall feel for sure. The heat comes in early next week and will likely be here to stay. While I prefer the cool temperatures, the summer heat means that Fall is truly that much closer.
