Happy Friday Pumpkin People! It got so chilly last night I had to run the pellet stove a little overnight. That really helped bring in the "feels".

Today I'm happy to see that the big change on the count is we are now in single digits on our way down to 100 DAYS TO THE BERS. It was the famous Edge who said I believe just yesterday, that 100 Days to The Bers is the biggest milestone of the year and the biggest on the site. I whole heartedly agree.

Also, it is just WILD to me that this time next week we are essentially kicking off Memorial Day weekend. Everyone knows what happens then!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! It's Saturday once again. Having off work yesterday, I was able to get a lot more chores done, so today will be more of a relaxing day. I'm definitely looking forward to that 4 day weekend next weekend!

Still loving these chilly evenings and cold mornings. I know they won't be around much longer, but I love taking in the "Fall Feels" when I can get them. Hopefully another Hobby Lobby trip yields more results, maybe even some Christmas!

Tomorrow we will be just ONE WEEK until 100 DAYS TO THE BERS. I can't wait to wake up and post the counts for that tomorrow. Have a great day!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Today is a special day. It marks only ONE WEEK, until we see the 100 DAYS TO THE BERS milestone.

We are also tracking just TWO WEEKS to go until our next JOL Day!

I made a Hobby Lobby run yesterday, and there is Fall in there everywhere. I still did not see any Christmas other than the boxes and tubes of ornaments sitting on the back shelves. I'm not getting worried quite yet, but usually before Memorial Day we have *something* out on the shelves other than just the big boxes of ornaments. I think that I'm going to visit again one evening this week before the weekend, just to see if there is anything new that shows up.

I wanted share some screenshots from WCW "Halloween Havoc" from 1996, I was watching this PPV just the other day and these set pieces just made me feel so nostalgic, and there were big Halloween "feels" seeing the spooky entrances and just thinking back to that magical Halloween time.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! It's Monday again. But hear me out. We can "deal' with this Monday and subsequent days because of what we know is coming this weekend. It started at 12AM, but truly every second / minute / hour we are making progress towards ushering in the weekend. Everything truly changes this weekend.

I had a very powerful feeling yesterday mid-morning, I was just thinking about how we might be the only group of people in the world, who countdown to all of our holidays and special times 24/7. I was also thinking that with that comes responsibility, mainly us taking care to acknowledge / realize the special times and especially when we go into a major turning point like this coming weekend. And I know all of us in here, and probably most of the folks on MMC as a whole do that.

I like thinking about these "turning point times" and we will talk about it more as the week progresses, but this one coming up I do believe is the biggest change / turnover of the entire year! Have a great day!
 
I was expecting to see our local Hobby Lobby finally go “full Bers” last week and have all of their Fall stuff out, but nope. Virtually unchanged from the last time I was in there. All of the Fall items are still in the tubs and are sitting on the very top shelves of all the aisles. Furthermore, all of their summer items are still occupying the seasonal aisles. I suspect (and hope) that will change quickly after Memorial Day.

BUT…this week? I’m still on Cloud 9. I absolutely love where we’re headed, towards this major turning point in the year and the reopening of The Road to the Bers. It’s making me nostalgic for the Hogwarts Express train ride at Universal Studios. I think I need a cold cup of butterbeer.

But you’re right, Snake. The absolute biggest (or what feels like the biggest) milestone is coming in just five more days.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Happy Wednesday to you all! Getting awfully close now to that 100 DAYS TO THE BERS milestone!

Wednesday is the "turning point" of each week, and yesterday, I mentioned that obviously this weekend is the biggest turning point of the year, IMO. This upcoming turning point obviously is at #1 in the rankings, but let's look at some other "turning points":

March 1 - "The Month of Hope". The arrival of The Month of Hope, and also Spring, is a major milestone to focus on while we trudge through the dark and somber winter days post-Christmas.

May / Memorial Day Weekend - Biggest turning point of the year, IMO, as "The Road" back to The Bers opens up, and our final approach bookends with Labor Day in September.

July 4th - Final Non-Bers Holiday of the year. In this household, it's firmly treated as "Summer's Going Away Party"

September 1 - The Bers arrive. Nuff' said.

Weekend before Thanksgiving - Coach's Favorite weekend of the year. Basically the final point in the year where Christmas magic is not everywhere in stores / shops, etc..

Did I miss any important turning points this morning?

I think you hit all of the big ones. Those are all on my radar and certainly the ones I’d consider the most important turning points of the year.

To a lesser degree, Spooky Spring is one of my turning points that I look forward to every year. I feel like it’s the first dose of any kind of “holiday magic” that we’re treated to after the winter months. I know we have Rudolph Days and JOL Days and Tom Turkey Days, but Spooky Spring hits differently.

I’d also say, on a personal level, that the arrival of Fall Preseason is another minor turning point. It’s certainly not as huge as those you’ve mentioned above, but it does feel different when August 1st hits, kind of like a huge sigh of relief. At that point, I’m acutely aware that it’s still summer, but the joy of being so close to the Bers overtakes that.
 
Labor Day? Growing up, this was always a very significant day. It marked the end of the lazy days of summer and the beginning of the dreadful school year ahead. There was always a little excitement in reconnecting with friends and meeting some new students but, even then, the whole thing still felt a bit ominous.
The real marker though was the Labor Day Telethon. Once that was on the TV, you knew summer was officially over. It was the point of no return.

For me, Labor Day is great! A day off from work, of course. It's also near Jacob's birthday. And my favorite bird hunting season starts that weekend!
