Congratulations, Snowfall, and best of luck!

Good Morning Everyone.

Ready for Thanksgiving?
I hope so, because our countdown shows we are mighty, mighty close!
Days to Christmas Day: 31 (One month from tomorrow!)
Days to Thanksgiving Day: 2 (Day after tomorrow, guys!)

Dampish and cool (51) here in Raleigh at this hour, but no rain is falling.
The sun should put in an appearance shortly, and a great Thanksgiving Day is predicted!

Have a Terrific Tuesday, Everybody!

Good morning, everyone! I accepted that job offer. I start Monday. I can't wait to start working again!! Since I'll be working full time, I'm not doing a darn thing today and tomorrow. I'm going to sit around and do crafts and watch Christmas movies all day! I was going to sleep in, but I still ended up waking up at 7:00, as I usually do.
Congratulations, Snowfall! I know you'll enjoy your new job! cheesy

Congratulations Snowfall!

Can't believe how close it is to Christmas now. In one week our decorations will be up! Hurray!

Good Tuesday morning, my Christmas friends!

Today is the last day of school until next Tuesday, and my whole family can use the break. [vent]6th grade homework is outrageous. It is inconceivable that 12 year olds should be sent home with 3 hours of homework everyday, Fridays and holidays included. I never had homework like that, and I'm no slouch. [\vent]

Anyhoo, even if they have homework today, we won't have to stay up til 10:00 pm working on it tonight...we have a few days to get it done. In the meantime, I'm taking my son deer hunting and dove hunting, then we're going on a long weekend away from home! My dog is doing better and I can't wait to hit the road!

Have a great day all!cheesy

Brad---Glad you are getting to take your trip. I know what you mean about homework: DD is only four years old & I'm already dreading homework!

Congratulations on the job, Snowfall! That's fantastic!

Brad, glad to hear that your dog is doing a lot better and you will have the vacation after all. 3 hours of homework per night?! I'm a university student and I can honestly say that I haven't done three hours of homework per night all year!

Bradmac- Good Luck with the hunting and I hope you have fun on your trip!!!!!! I know what you mean about the homework. My niece is getting homework in preschool. I can't remeber having homework until at least second grade. By the time I got to high school though I was getting 3 or 4 hours worth a night.

Congrualtions Snowfall!!!!!!!! I hope you love your new job.

Good morning, everyone!

Hard to believe we're a month away from Christmas Eve... And, a month and a day from Christmas!! It's nice to see that those in the U.S. are excited for Thanksgiving. It's definitely a perfect interlude into December!

Slightly cold here this morning, but I am not complaining. Plenty of rain in the forecast, however. Temperatures must drop below 0 soon. There has not been one snow fall yet this year, which is quite odd. Hopefully it holds off until after the first week of December so that it does not affect any of my travel plans.

Nothing really new here. I have three poems to write and a magazine to layout for my Canadian Lit. class, an assignment for Drama and Society in Early Modern England and then an essay for Historical Theory. All must be done by December 3rd! It's going to be tough, but it's crunch time. Thankfully, I've programmed myself to spending 10 hours per day in the library when it comes down crunch time. After this is done, my Christmas Season will be in full force as I return home for just over three weeks!

Well, I guess I better get some work done. Thursday is my last day until January, but I have a feeling they will be working me real hard today and Thursday since I am only working two days this week!

Have a great Tuesday, everyone!!

It is hard to belive that we are only two days away from thanksgiving. I hope everything starts to slow down and christmas doesn't fly by. Today I am going to make my macaroni salad. I am also going to dice up onions and celery for my stuffing. I hope everyone has a GOOD DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You may get to see snow Thanksgiving night above Maggie Valley. Enjoy your trip!

Good Morning Everyone.

Like everyone else, I'm ready for Thanksgiving. Well, almost. Mrs.Eagle just gave me a shopping list of stuff we're short on. My day off (today) will start with a tripp to the gas station/car wash, then to Dominic's, Blockbuster, Walgreens, Bestbuy, and a stop at the auto parts store (I need a car cover for my GTO, I lost my storage spot). And Mrs.Eagle will be in touch with me in case I have any spare time . . . . .

I spotted a few more houses lit up on the way home last night. I stopped counting at 20. I guess the lighting has officially begun. I'm trying to hold out until Thanksgiving.

Hey Brad - Guns and hunting are a four letter word here in Chicago, but I remember my younger days . . . . I hope you and the kids have a great outting. My sons are all grown, but yes I remember the "homework days". Luckily I married a girl who's smarter than me. "Kids, go see your Mom", was usually the answer to most of the questions.

It's getting late so I better get started.

In a first, we took ALL the kids out with us last night to shop for Thanksgiving groceries. After all, they had a part in planning the food and, as usual, will help the old man stuff the bird.

But let me say this: NEVER AGAIN.

Jeff - Been there, done that. I'm in full agreement: Never again. It's easier on the nerves and the pocket book. (Ha,ha)

Seriously! I wish my kids could come home from school and play outside for a couple hours before it gets dark, but there's no way. They just can't be kids right now.

Iron Eagle - Too right, my friend! "Nancy! Jacob has a question about his homework!" cheesy

It's so good to hear the pup is better and you can go on your trip. Have a good time!

HAHA! What are the age ranges of the kids? Maybe when some are older, you can try the trip again in a few years?

Hello my friends!

Finished up the outdoor lights yesterday(I took the day off). It only took us three days this year(yes...three days...) I'll post some pix!~ We won't light it all till Thursday night though.

The season rolls on! We've been watching Christmas movies, the music on my iPod is Christmas exclusively and my wife has been whistling and singing carols whist she works! It's been a tough year this year but we intend on celebrating all the more cause we've almost made it through!!!

The electric company will surely be helped by our endeavours!

Merry Christmas Season and a VERY HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Jeff, you are missing a really fun part of raising kids and teaching them at the same time. When my kids where young they used to each get their own shopping list (age determined how long it was, but usually they each got 4 or 5 items) They loved the challenge of finding the best deal, marking down prices and then finding me back again to show off their great finds. They all learned how to check out prices and sizes for best deals, calorie counts etc. and had fun doing it. The benefit to me was I did not have to listen to "can I have" because they where busy shopping too.
