Well, we are to that point in the week where we start our downhill slide to the weekend....wonder if we spray some of that stuff on us that Clark Griswold sprayed on his sled will make our week go by faster??? If only!

Well friends, it's been a long hard day! Coffee in the cup is nice and warm and the music is good.....ah! It's nice!

Well, my beloved baseball team staring playing ball yesterday and for the first time in ten years, I wasn't the coach. It's odd to say the least. Even upsetting almost. However, I will try to be thankful for the 10 years I had and the success and triumphs that took place during my time. I had more good than bad and that is a blessing.

But yall, I sure do miss my boys! Sigh...........

It's rewarding to know what you have done but I am sure you miss them too!

Good Morning everyone.....cold and rainy here this morning... Gave me the urge to want to stay home and watch some Christmas movies but guess that will have to wait as I have to work today and I have no sofa to get comfy on. The sofa broke so we had to get rid of it... the 2nd attempt in delivering our new sofa will be on Friday. On the first attempt the delivery guys dropped one end of the sofa on the walkway and cracked the leg.

Got a busy month here so I am not sure how much I will be able to get on here....our daughter is trying out for midget football cheerleading so practices and try outs are this month, she will also start softball practice later this month...weather permitting and I am co-hosting a baby shower this month.

Very overcast here with more rain in the forecast.
We actually had some very light snow overnight (quite a rarity for March in these parts) but it barely coated the car tops and is almost gone now.
We stand at 38, currently.
The weather service still promises 60's by the weekend.

Days to Christmas Day:297
Do you realize in just 2 more days, we will be down to single digits to our next milestone, the 1/3 mark to the Season?
Sheesh!

My dear 91 year old Aunt Mary passed away from Alzheimer's this past Monday after 6 long years in a nursing home and 2 years with in home care. What a sad and long journey. Prayers to all affected by this terrible disease.

Sorry to hear that. Alzheimer's is a depressing disease.

My mother-in-law cooked supper for the family last night: fresh creamed corn, fresh black-eyed peas, homemade bisquits, thick-cut hickory bacon, chicken & rice, macaroni & cheese...whew! I'm still bloated! We may not have much money, but we eat well!

Good morning, everyone!

Some good news last night. My mom and her husband were scheduled to go to Cuba this Friday, however plans were up in the air as soon as my mom's husband's mother had her stroke. The hospital did not give her much chance and they asked Bruce (mom's husband) where she would be most comfortable. He brought her back to her nursing home and into paladin care. The nurse there was determined to see if she could eat and/or drink - the hospital said she couldn't swallow. Anyway, she ate a huge thing of pudding and drank a large bottle of water. I'm surprised that she has been somewhat able to come out of it. I thought she was a goner with a stroke and alzheimer's.

Apparently, her eyes light up whenever Bruce is around or she hears voice, which is sweet. He asked her if they should still go to Cuba and she nodded for them to go and insisted she would be OK for a week - by nodding, of coure as she cannot talk. They will be leaving on Friday. I only hope that she continues to improve for their sake. Thanks for everyone's thoughts and prayers. I can only hope they are assisting the family, friends and teammates of the 19-year-old student as much as they are my mom and her husband. You're all too kind!

Anyway, it's another beautiful day here in Ottawa. It is sunny and -1C but the wind is supposed to slow down and warm up to +4C again today! A high of +7C is forecasted this weekend. The snow is melting! As long as this keeps up, the fields should be clear by early next week!!

Christmas in July, woo hoo!!!! Although I will be 9 months pregnant, I still very much look forward to blasting the AC, cooking a big Christmas in July dinner, listening to my favorite Christmas tunes, and watching QVC!
