My granddaughter had 102 temp yesterday. It is difficult to tell when she is sick because she is such a good baby. She was happy most the day yesterday but seemed slightly out of it. I finally decided to take her temp and was surprised that it was that high. She was eating well too. She is 9 months old and I am amazed how cheerful she is all the time. When she wakes up from naps she never cries, she always has a big smile on her face! She has even woke up a little during a nap and will smile real big then fall back to sleep. She doesn't fight taking a naps either, if she is tired she just goes to sleep! Most baby and kids fight it. She got better later during the day and they said she seemed to be better last night.

The kids will be here shortly and sure hope she is better. If not, she will be going to the doctor.

Hope she is better today!

Hope your granddaughter feels better soon, Christmas-a-Holic. I am so paranoid about fevers with kids because my son has had febrile seizures due to high fevers in the past (not to scare you or anything!). I gave him anything he wanted to eat (popsicles, ice cream, whatever!) and lots of lukewarm baths. So sad when a baby gets sick..

Brad, I hope your remodel comes to an end very soon. No fun at all, but worth it in the end! And give that pup extra hugs tonight... my cats were so goofy after they got fixed and just wanted to be held!

My son brought in the mail I looked down to see "Santa's Choice" (order food stuff and pay all year so it gets delivered by Christmas)

Made me think some more of Christmas and coming here to see how everyone is doing....again. cheesy

Good afternoon, everyone!!

For some reason, I was incredibly tired this morning. I blame it on the restless sleep I had last evening. Sleep is hard to come by when it is 25C (76F) outside and probably about 30C in the apartment with no central air or air conditioning... only fans.

Anyway, I made it through my first morning at the new job. It seems to be going quite well. A big thanks to everyone for the well wishes!! They have certainly helped.

It's another scorcher in Ottawa today. 100F with the humidex!! About 92F without. You cannot step outside without sweating. It's quite impressive. The weather is certainly making up for a rain-filled summer last year. Still a few more months to go, so we'll see how it pans out.

Wednesday and the count continues to get smaller. I went to visit a friend at lunch and a lady in his store said that she was excited to have gotten a few people "out of the way." She then said that she didn't like leaving everything until Christmas because she did not "like the crowds." Well, this made me excited!! Someone else who is thinking about Christmas already!! All I could do was smile! Anyway, I should get back to the new job. Don't want to get in trouble on the first day.

Have a great day, everyone!!

Good Wednesday morning, my Christmas friends!

Nerves are getting frayed at our house these days. It's time for the remodel to be over. Maybe we're close.

We took my daughter's pup, a cockapoo, to the vet today to get her "fixed". I hate the idea of a surgery, but we need to do it. We'll have to baby her tonight, I guess.

I hope you all have a great day! cheesy

I hope the remodel gets done soon and that the surgery goes well!!!!!!!

Glad to hear that the job is going well and I hope it cools down soon for you!!!!!!

It sounds like most of us are melting, huh? I made some strawberry-blueberry granita - delicious!!!

Well, we just signed the paperwork for the house. I hope this is it and they accept our offer and it goes through smoothly!!!! We'll see! :)

Well, I got an early Christmas gift yesterday on the 25th---my baby brother & his wife are expecting their first child on 1/15/11!

All graduations are now behind us! Next up: DH's birthday tomorrow, DH's birthday/Memorial Day cookout on Monday, DD's birthday next Wednesday, leaving for Disney World next Friday!

After all that, I can relax for a week until DD's birthday party, then smooth sailing until VBS at the end of July, quickly followed by the start of kindergarten!

This year I'll have to help Mom dig out that extra stocking for the new baby. She'll have his/her name monogramed on the stocking to match the rest of the family stockings! Mom ordered a couple extra stockings in anticipation of more grandchildren.

I have to call back early next week to see where my job stands. They're having a meeting tomorrow to see if they can hire someone else. Hopefully I'll get it!
