Christmas Countdown - 2010

I'm all feeling down
I just found out that I will be having my final exam at.... 24th december I thought they couldn't do it?? Actually that's my favorite day of christmas... I usually spend it with my little brother making all my cakes, and with my mother making our christmas table centerpieces and going to church with my family and my boyfriends family... i can surely cry now Don't know how to plan Christmas now...

Good morning all,


We had a busy holiday mash-up kind of day yesterday, first I made a turkey dinner with homemade cranberry sauce, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, etc...for my family, let that thing slow roast for over 6 hours, best turkey I ever made, it was only the third turkey I ever made. While the turkey was roasting we put up and decorated our 7 1/2 foot tree, (earliest we ever put one up!) it is beautiful I will try to post some pics at a later time.

Both boys are home with pink eye today, and I will be going to work a little later.

Good morning!! I want to thank everyone for their special posts last week. They were all great!!!! Sorry I could be here Friday night .... looks like I missed all the fun!

Well my daughter's cheerleading squad came in 2nd place in the competition Saturday. All the girls received a medal! They did really great!

Spent yesterday doing come cleaning, watched some Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel and made some cookies with the kids lastnight. All in all had a great weekend, too bad to ended to quickly!

I'm sorry about that. If it's any consolation, I have to work half a day on Christmas Eve. Our company gives us 2 days off for Christmas and 2 days for New Years, so we're taking the following Monday & Tuesday, then Thursday & Friday. We'll close on that Wednesday, to give us a whole week off.

Mmm.. sounds delish and I'm a vegetarian! Care to share your cranberry sauce recipe?

Really simple:
1 cup water
1-2 cups of sugar (depends how sweet you want it)
dissolve sugar while bringing water to boil
add 12oz of Cranberries boil 9 minutes berries will split
cool to room temperature then chill
Enjoy!

Good monday morning, my Christmas friends!

I, too, missed the countdown Friday night. But I'll be here on Christmas Eve, waiting up for Santa!

Sadly, I have to go to a funeral this morning for a friend of mine. She and I graduated HS together, and she married one of my best friends. She's fought her cancer for almost 2 years, but she passed away Friday morning. Her fight was an inspiration to us all, and she is finally resting with the Lord.

But I don't want to be a "Danny Downer"; She wouldn't want that, either. Her life was dedicated to her husband and two sons, and she did a great job raising all three of them! cheesy

It looks like I missed a great intro to the season! I really wanted to be here, but I promised my father-in-law I'd run his store for him on Saturday to give him a day off, and I had to be there at 6 am. I gotta have my 8!

I worked for 13 hours and my feet were killing me; he does it 6 days a week and he's 74. I gotta man-up!

This sounds like the place I work for. It has been in business around 80 years. The owner that took over the orignial owner when he passed on has been there nearly 60 years. He is in his 80's now and on his feet 10 hours a day, 6 days a week! I admire him so much. I can't hardly handle that! LOL!

O'Malley is busy grooming himself for about the 100th time today so he won't be any help.

Cats are so funny! I keep my hands very clean and if I go pet my cats they immediately wash themselves. I'm slighthly offended! I did just wash my hands! cheesy

Days to Thanksgiving Day: 10 (Single digits tomorrow!!)
Days to Christmas Day: 40 (One month plus 10 days away!)

Forty-three degrees here in the capital city at this hour.
Rain likely tonight, Tuesday and Wednesday.
(We had a beautiful day yesterday - lots of sunshine and a high of 70.
Doesn't get much better than that for mid November!)

My first day of rest in 9 days! No work or no grandkids today. I do need to catch up on some chores but will do that at my own leisure. I will crank up the Christmas tunes or pop in a Christmas DVD while I get some cleaning done! I love to even listen to a Christmas movie while I get other things done.

Started out a bit chilly this morning but supposed to be in the high 60's low 70's today so not going to complain. However I do have to go on a search for my tree topper, discovered that it is NOWHERE in witht he rest of the Christmas goodies.
GOing to be baking cookies this coming weekend and I have job orientation this THursday so if I am MIA for a few days it is because I will be working, but I will be in during the weekend for sure.

For those who are having a hard time or are supporting thise having a hard time, I am sorry but keep your chin up- things are bound to get better.
