Good Morning, You Posting Fools!

Wow!
We are sooooo on pace to break 2010's record!
If this rate continues, it chould fall by about early August or so.
(It's almost to the point I don't have time to do more than skim the posts!)

On with the count:
Days to the Season: 314
Days to Christmas Day: 356
The 300-day window to the Season arrives 2 weeks from today!
<< How can we be so close to a Milestone already, Crown? >>
The magic and beauty of the Season count as well as the Christmas Day count, of course! It started running back on Nov 14, you know.

Cold weather is back and we dropped just below freezing last night.
It is up to 33 as I type this but the high is supposed to top out 15 degrees below yesterday's nice 62.

Well, I spent a good part of the day yesterday undecorating at my condo and my father's house.
Sad, but that keeps it all special.

You have a Marvelous First Monday of 2011, Guys!

Congratulations! Way to go, Snow-in-Texas!!!

Well if you all can remember way back in the 2010 countdown, I mentioned I was trying to get on first shift at my job. Well by all indications, it looks like I am getting it. It is just a matter of them figuring out who is gonna replace me on third shift. It should be made official within the next couple of weeks. I won't be happy until I am actually on the shift though.

Crown, I think it's because we are really getting to know each other more and more each year, therefor we have so much more to chat about! Breaking a record will be no problem! :D

I have been a member of many forums and so far these have been the very best with great conversation.

I do enjoy my time here!

THANKS EVERYONE! cheesy

Back to work for me today also. I miss you guys very much. Its weird because I try to get on this site almost daily (usually at work) and then once the best time of the year gets here and right around Thanksgiving hit this year with us all getting sick and me only working about 2-3 days a week in December I got so busy I havent been on hardly at all. Anyways I love coming here to keep the Christmas spirit alive especially when no one else is thinking of Christmas. I know you all will keep the spirits up through this gloomy January month. Happy New Year everyone!

Good to see you back! The same happens to me, Christmas season comes around and I am twice as busy but it's all fun stuff! =) I hope you are all better now.

I think you are exactly right, Christmas-a-Holic! This place feels like home-away-from-home! I love it here.

I will keep you update if the results of my exam come in.. (you know the one on 24th of december that went really bad) I'm really nervous because of that exam... hope it will be okay... I have spend lots of time during Christmas worrying about this...

Good morning, Christmas friends. It's almost time to head over to school to get ready for all the kidlets! I am sure they will be wired to tell about the Christmas holdiays. I guess I will have to plan a time of sharing right after lunch, just so they can talk, and talk, and talk!!! I hope everyone has a great day!

G'morning everyone, Well it hit me like a ton'o bricks this morning. Husband went back to work and I as a substitute teacher with nowhere to go today woke up and realized..... business as usual. waaaaaahhhhhaaaaahaaaa:?. Iam fighting off the blues with a passion.doing my best , but I still feel it. How do we survive the rest of the year? lol These last few months especially after turning 40( gulp, did I just say that I feel like a "kid") I ve thought ( perhaps more than I should) much about the swiftness of the passage of time. I was shocked this year, while taking out my Christmas decs ,and was filled with a bit of anxiety about how fast it goes. It seriously felt and seemed like it was only yesterday that I was putting them away. Sometimes I get mixed up when thinking about Christmas's past and what year it actually was. Even Christmas of two and three years ago seem so recent.
Moral of the story and perhaps a new years resolution : Enjoy every day ! each day is a gift no matter if its in the midst of the darkness of January or in the delicious, electric madness of December . Christmas will surely be here again, and we all will be saying " My how fast it went!" Thanks for lettin me ramble. Merry January 3rd folks, may you relish in its beauty !!! :snowball:

Didn't mean to sound "preachy" folks .....Im just sayin!
I enjoyed reading it and you are right about what you said! Everyday is a blessing no matter what time of year it is. =)

I know I have said this a few times already but I surprisingly feel great and still holding onto the Christmas spirit without the blues. You keep it in your heart and the heck with the rest of the world if they don't like it! cheesy

I really like this song on Christmas Eve on Sesame Street. I enjoy watching this Christmas special even if the kids are not around. =)

Keep Christmas With You All Through the Year. We should all do that! =)

It sounds crazy, but I personally feel, that when we have got to the other side to the 300 day mark, it will be easier to start looking forword, right now, because everything is still up or comming down, or both its hard to let go of christmas 2010. however in a way for closure's sake I am looking forword to the first word on store decorations and shop items going up for 2011 xmas!

Just a clarification. Just because I feel great, I do feel bad for those who are going through the blues. I have been there and it's very real. Some think you are loony for being down but you JUST CAN'T HELP IT! I hope you all feel better real soon!

I can hardly wait to hear the results! I hope you will let us know all the details about the house--take pictures to document your "new" life!
you are right, I will take pictures of every little detail :) just got a great camera for Christmas, I'm sure that'll help ;)

hope your first day back at work was nice :)

Yay congrats! that is great :)

I wish you could pass some of it along to me , its been sometime that i felt the spirit after the season was over. Any tips would be greatly appreciated !!
The CHhristmas Holiday season was very stressful and was overshadowed by an ailment that my dog was suffering from. She is ten and all of the sudden woke up and was screeching and yelping in pain. I toook her to the vet and she said that she thought it was a stroke or a brain tumor. My husband and I were to have a party the following day. We had to cancel it and did nothing but look at the dog for four days and she did not improve.
Trusting my gut instinct I took her to another vet and he gave her a shot of a steriod and said she threw something out in her neck and she was better in 24 hours with a minor setback the day afhter Cthristmas . The setback caused her to yelp out in pain and agin had me upset. Three days after that ,my sister had to put our " family "dog to sleep. SHe was 16. These happenings along with a bad case of the stomach flu in mid December caused me not to "feel it" this year. As a sidenoote , my dog is fully recovered as far as I can see. Her turnaround came on the day we had to put the other dog" Louie" asleep. I like to think that Louie sent down some healing energies . :snowball:
