Good Evening Everyone!!!!!!!! It is a cold and dreary here today. It is supposed to start snowing overnight and keep snowing through wednesday. I have been moving pretty slow today because I stayed up to late last night. I need to run to the store this evening but I am sure it is going to be a mess with snow predicted for tomorrow. Then it will be back home to watch football. I hope everyone had a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!

Louanne - you've probably seen this before but although it makes me cry like a baby, it also gives me reassurance that this is only a temporary situation........

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Thank you, Maureen, that is so beautiful. Thank you everyone. I am still very sad as is appropriate for right now but I have decided to honor my Goblin and my Punkin' and all I have lost by being happier and by keeping my tree up for just a little while yet as a sort of shining star of hope. I know they are still with me. I could almost feel Gobby hop up beside me tonight and lay across my lap as I am on the laptop and sometimes I almost feel Punkin' on top of my head when I sleep which is where she slept.

You have all helped me so much. Let us all rejoice in Christmas even though the "official" season is gone. It is still in all our hearts !!!

Thinking of you!

Hi Christmas family. I just wanted you to know that my Goblin passed away today. It turns out he had lymphoma and I didn't even get to say goodbye. Thank you for all your love and concern. Maybe I will write more later. I can't focus right now.

Nice Maureen... very nice and comforting. I still cringe over lost pets, especially my beloved dog Bob..nice to think I will see him again...

YABBA!

Good afternoon, Christmas friends. We are only 73 posts from 1,000, and we are not quite halfway through January. If we build up the posts, there will be a little, well, buildup, of posts to see us through the months when we are a little lacking. I am getting ready to prepare some hors-d'ouevres for tonight.

I'm trying to decide if I should call it a night or pop in a dvd...I hope everyone has a good evening and I will talk to yall tomorrow!

Made.....who are you pulling for in NFL playoffs now? Did you see where Vickers got back in a car today?

Well, I'm about to watch the game and read to the board....for some reason, I really go that Christmassy feeling tonight....think I might look at the calendar and put some dates down.

I've got certain dates programmed on my phone....to remind me of things to do for Christmas....just looking...did you know that on Wednesday, it will be 200 days until Christmas preparations begin? That's not far at all!

Has anyone done that yet or am I crazy? Crazy, aren't I?

I just looked both up and now I want the tree topper!!!!!! The top branch of the tree would have to be pretty strong to support it though.

I know, I found it by accident last night and watching the video of it just really made me want it so just got to save all my pennies to make sure I get it for next Christmas season. I have a fake tree so hopefully it will be strong enough.

Am I crazy for keeping my tree lit in the window on January 10? I use to feel self conscious for keeping my tree up and on in front of the window for so long, but since I have joined here I feel like I could keep the tree going a lot longer and be proud of it.

This is the tree I am talking about, a little 3 footer: http://mymerrychristmas.com/forum/album.php?albumid=535&pictureid=5582

Morning! SNOW tomorrow.. 6+ inches they say! 3rd storm in a week, but we haven't gotten a lot yet.

Just thinking about what to make for dinner on this cooooold Monday... hmmm.

They are predicting a BIG snowstorm Tuesday into Wednesday here, a foot or more possible, now that Christmas is over I don't want anymore snow.
