oh and Kandice and I just finished watching Christmas Vacation

Good morning all. I loaded movies on my ipod ready for today. Yesterday and monday was dead at work. Hopefully I can stop by the pines after work. I need it! Well back to work I go. Its busy today!!!

Stay safe! When I was growing up in NC, I was always terrified during tornado season. The idea of the bike helmets is a great one! Also, the playpen!

Thanks for everyone's concern. We made it through just fine but some areas did get hit. Not sure of how bad the damage is yet because I have not turned on the news but as of last night it was minor.

That storm got my heart pounding more than any other that has hit in the past. Especially when the weatherman said there is rotation heading up a road nearby just east of the lake. I live in that location!

Now we are just expecting hot (90's) sunny weather for the rest of the week. Blah! cheesy

Don't keep us in the dark about kinkling!!

Take care of that bug, and I hope you get rid of it soon. Memorial Day weekend is coming!

Kinda like the way a milk shake anywhere else is a "frappe" in Massachusetts (unless you go to a national chain like Dairy Queen), and nobody outside of Frederick County, MD ever heard of a "kinkling."

Good morning, Christmas friends. A 100 percent chance of rain was predicted for today. The weatherman is 100 percent correct, so it will be rainy day session at school--just what I need and want!!! In this kind of weather, they are like 31 little tornadoes! Everyone stay safe. Have a great day, no matter what the conditions.

Good Morning Everyone!!!! It is a warm muggy day here in central Indy this morning. That is going to change though because we are supposed to get some strong storms this afternoon and evening. I don't have much planned for this afternoon so I will probably put a Christmas movie on in honor of Rudolph Day. Then it will be off to meet my mom and my sisters family for our birthday dinner. Then it will be off to the Pines. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The 200-day Window to Christmas opens two weeks from today!
And Carl is planning a special open house in honor of that marker since it falls on a Wednesday. Stay tuned!

I can't wait to see what he has planned!!!!!!!cheesy

done cuttin the grass....ready to play some wii with kandice and then cook some spaghetti with good ole fashioned italian tomato sauce...no meat today

We are still under a tornado warning but it got really scary for awhile. The sirens went off, lights flickering and very dark clouds. I put my dogs inside a baby playpen, my cats in their carriers and placed them in the center part of the house. I also put our bike helmets in the hallway to wear to protect our heads if we need them. May sound silly but I always do that when it gets serious, you got to protect your head! I then woke up my son and told him to be ready just in case.

If anyone was watching the Rangers game they had to evacuate them to the bottom level. The ballpark is west of us about 30 minutes away from where we live.

Well great! As I type this they said another tornado just touched down directly south of us. I hope no one is hurt.

I want to go to sleep!!! I better go and keep a watch out.

I cry every time I listen to news reports, my heart goes out to these people.
we get tornado's in our area too, and we take all the precautions we can. Never fell silly for doing what you need to to keep safe with your family.

Good afternoon my fellow friends. Today I woke up to my nephew singing at the top of his lungs Jingle Bells. It was a great holiday jolt and to think we are just close to month and half to Christmas in July and the start toward holidays times.

I went on our family website and posted reminders for our family Christmas party starting in July.(one a month until Dec 17 when the big event arrives) I figured since it was Christmas in July anyway it would be a good time to start!
I have a sister in law who claims she does not get enough notice, so what do you think, did she get enough notice or what this year!

yes, I was thinking the same thing....what is kinkling?

It's a noun, not a verb! Kinklings are pastries that are traditionally made and eaten on Shrove Tuesday. They're deep-fat fried (like donuts), then coated with powdered sugar. (You shake 'em in a brown paper bag with powdered sugar in it.) The origin seems to be German Fastnachts---Frederick County was settled by German immigrants in the 1700s. I've got a recipe at home somewhere if anyone's interested. I've never seen nor heard of them outside of Frederick County, MD, and I sure do miss 'em when the Lenten season rolls around.

Next you'll be wanting to know about belsnickling ... :D

Yep, I think you've got her covered, CS!

Glad you are okay, I thought about you and SIT last night, kept watching weather.com and saw some incredible pictures.

Thinking of all of you in the way of storms. We only have to worry about earthquakes here. And where we live, those are not really a problem. Sometimes, though, the wind storms are pretty bad. They are steady when they come; no touching down and going on to great damage. Take care, all of you!!!

We only have an occasional blizzard or hurricane up here, but that is like a once a decade thing if that often.
